Only gave one star on my first review because I had to order a power adapter separately. Great graphics and love the old games. Buy the wii classic controller so you can control the box without getting up and the toggle makes pac man way easier.

I’m so glad this came back! I tried to connect my old original NES to a newer tv, and it did not go well… This newer NES works perfectly and feels like it did back in the day!**Disclaimer: The included controller (only one) has a short cord, like 4ft. So I recommend purchasing the 10ft extension cords for it and also get the Newer OEM controller that is sold separately for a the 2-Player games.**

We wanted to play the old games. WE”RE OLD, o.k.?? But I read the reviews, and “a lot” of people were all, “Waaa, there’s no power cord!”. Well, since we wanted a second controller anyway, I found a bundle, controller and a power-cord. Funny, that got here 1st, ha-ha! But when I un-box the gaming unit, I pull stuff out, get it up & running, go to toss the box. It rattles. In a “sub-basement” of the packaging, is the deal you see on the left. Granted, I’m not an electrician, but it would/does connect to the widget from my phone charger, shown on the right. Maybe it wouldn’t work, again, not an electrician, but there IS a cord that comes with it, that plugs into the power portal. I also keep getting questions about ‘will the old cartridges fit?’. NO. Here is the new one, atop the old one (because we like TETRIS and a couple others) The tuna should help you see the size difference

Functionally speaking, mine has worked perfectly. No issues. As others in the reviews have said, you need a 5v 1amp adapter to plug into the wall if you don’t want to plug into the TV to power it. I tried a 2amp adapter and the system would not turn on. So, it definitely must be a 1amp. The controller cord is incredibly short. I recommend getting a set of longer ones. I wanted a second controller anyhow so that didn’t matter to me. I got a set of 10ft controllers and have been fine. I like that I can save my spots for every game in the system. You can find the whole listing on NES’ website. This thing is so tiny! Shows how far tech has come. All those games on this lil thing. The only downside, which isn’t a downside because I thought about it before getting and made the choice is that the games on this system are built in. There are no cartridges. That means if I want more, I cannot have them. If you want games not on the listing, you then you should with a different system than the mini and be able to swap cartridges. If that is not a concern, then you’re all set like me!

Xbox controllers are just TOO complicated for my five year old. So I finally caved and bought him this, when my husband and I tested it, because we bought it used, we found out that all the cords are short as heck, so I invested in some wireless controllers. (They do have them with the little plug that goes into the controller port and they do require charging. 26$ so worth it) The NES controllers are so simple, I’m so excited for him to be able to finally have a game system he can play! Plus my husband and I can teach him/play with him!! It’s a win win and I can’t wait for Christmas!

The controller is very short and useless. The entire console stopped working after 3.5 months. Paid too much for this to break. Completely worthless. I didn’t buy a knockoff one either and it was still garbage.

I am very happy with this product, and the delivery thereof. As many other reviews mention, the remote’s cable is ridiculously short for some reason, but other than that this is a great product overall. I was considering getting a original NES with cartridges and all, but honestly having a smaller console with solid-state games onboard which will probably not break any time soon makes so much more sense. Happy customer here!

Upon inspection, this looks to be the real deal. There are lots of fakes out there, but not in my opinion is that the case here, the unit checks out. Packaging matches the listing, but it might look different to some because it is the European model. The differences between North American and European NES are minor: no color poster included and no power adapter included, which makes sense because North American power adapters are very different from those in Europe. Other than that, it’s identical and includes the same 30 games. As most know, the NES classic mini have been extremely difficult to find since the announcement. Very pleased to have one.

Brings back memories I had playing this with my children. My great grandson loves Mario so I thought he would like this. He truly enjoys playing it and I like that we can save his progress. The only downfall is the controller cord is too short. I know you can buy a controller with a longer cord but for the price it should come with it.
