    It’s pretty good

I have been using this laptop for a week and honestly find it pretty good. I went through a lot of reviews before making my decision and wanted to add my own for anyone thinking of buying this.PROS:-The screen is really vibrant. I haven’t noticed any screen bleed or dull colors and the refresh rate is great.-The laptop stays very cool* under heavy gaming.-It’s really snappy and responsive. I haven’t noticed any lag.-The touchpad is very responsive and easy to use.-The keys are slightly raised and feel a bit soft but in a good way. They’re pleasant to type on and it wasn’t hard to adjust to this smaller layout from a wider desktop keyboard.CONS:-The fan is loud when gaming. Like, really, really loud. It might be jarring if you’re coming from a desktop.-Battery life is pretty bad and the performance decrease when not connected to a charger is not extreme, but noticeable.NOTES:-As the other reviews have said, you need to press the power cord in and hear it click twice.-If you downgraded to Windows 10, you’ll want to redownload the relevant drivers from Acer’s website. I had to redownload the touchpad and io drivers to get mine working again.-You’ll also want to redownload Nitrosense if you downgrade. You can use it to toggle on coolboost which keeps the laptop extremely cool. You can also allegedly use it to lower the speed of the fans but I didn’t notice a reduction in fan noise so I decided to keep it on coolboost. All in all? The cons are pretty minor compared to the pros. I got it for a little under 800 dollars and consider that to be a steal.

    Great for the price

Got this for my daily usage and casual gaming and I’m very pleased with it. I’m not sure how it holds up for mmorpg and intensive online gaming, but it’s worked fine for me for single-player games. I played all of Baldurs Gate 3 on this laptop (single-player only), and while the laptop ran super hot, I had fun playing the game and experienced no lag. I did have to get a separate laptop fan, tho–without it, I wouldn’t trust the laptop to hold up. It risked overheating and the screen flickered. This shouldn’t be surprising given the laptop’s specs, tho. You get what you pay for. And like I said, it ran fine with the laptop fan. It definitely needed to be plugged in tho; without that, the battery would die in about half an hour or so.Overall, great value! Perfect for a casual gamer who doesn’t want to spend crazy $$ or build their own machine.

Love it but do miss the CD slot

I’m actually writing this review on my Nitro 5 and I love this laptop. Actually my 3rd ACER laptop; ACER has been so reliable that it’s my go-to brand and this laptop does not disappoint. I can play Civ on it; I have about 30 Nancy Drew games loaded on it. It performs fantastic and the graphic quality is very satisfying. The only thing I would change is I would get a CD/DVD slot. Sure, there are enough ports on this that I could plug my external drive into it, so I guess it’s just a convenience thing really. When I am using it for gaming, the fans are kind of loud but it really doesn’t bother me. My next laptop is very likely to be an ACER. They’re so reliable and easy to maintain. I have the same quality and performance on this ACER for under $1,000 as my daughter has on her $2500 Surface and I get the satisfaction of having paid mine off using the 12 equal payments with no interest plan. Can’t beat it!

    Big Disappointment

I had to spend an extra hundred dollars just to upgrade the RAM. So, it could play a few modern games. Still lags and everything looks pixilated. I mainly bought this laptop in hopes I could run my capture card through it and stream console games with Overlays and Alerts. I was dead wrong, this piece of junk crashes after two minutes of me streaming on StreamLabs, OBS Studio, and gostreamlight.com. NO matter what I stream the laptop freezes and crashes every time. NOT A GAMING LAPTOP

    Use TV For Monitor

I’m mainly into adventure gaming and regular computer use. I bought this to use my TV screen as a monitor with excellent results with the included HDMI port. On my TV the gaming video quality is beautiful. I expect that Hotel TV’s will give me equally good results. I have wireless accessories and I’m quite pleased. I also upgraded to 16Gb RAM and installed a 1TB Samsung 870 EVO SATA SSD for backup and storage. I’m confident that I can play any game that I want to with no reduction in quality and with high FPS, including with hand-to-hand combat scenes. With the i7 core, RTX3050, and sturdy build quality it was a steal at $739. No complaints.

    Fantastic Price to Performance Laptop

I was casually browsing around for a laptop, and this one came out at the right time. I bought this on sale for $679.99, and with a i7-11800H with a RTX 3050 Ti, it’s a fantastic price. Usually laptops that have a dedicated 3050 Ti hover around the $800 mark with a lesser performing CPU.Keep in mind the Intel i7-11800H outperforms AMD Ryzen 5-5600H by about 20%. A 1660 Ti in a laptop isn’t a huge performance boost, but costs about $400 more on average.Note: It also comes with Windows 11, but you can always downgrade.Pros:- Price to performance- Haven’t had any issues with gaming and cooling, but fan does get a bit loud for more stressful games- 144hz screen is great- Upgradability (I added another SSD and more 8GB RAM)Cons:- The power outlet is a bit difficult to put in. I’ve seen some of the DOA reviews and I’m almost sure it’s because they didn’t shove the outlet in hard enough.- On the heavier side of a laptop- USB-C output is only based on the Intel Graphics driver, can’t use the GPU with the USB-C- So much Acer Bloatware. I spent the first few minutes with the laptop just uninstalling Acer programsOverall, it’s definitely a great laptop and I have yet to have any issues using it.

Smooth running pc but keep power plugged in

Got this pc for my wife and daughters to replace a very old laptop. This one runs very smooth, fast and with good video quality. Audio/sound/speakers are a little soft even when turned all the way up but not that big of a deal for our needs. Laptop camera is good and it’s nice to have the various USB ports and connect to wifi. Runs programs, websites and games with easy. Fans do an awesome job keeping it cool. The Nitrosense feature is cool too. Note… you will need to keep the power cord plugged in. Battery life if low and drains fast. When plugged in there are no issues.Only downside/con is the battery life. But if you keep it plugged in, no issues. Overall a very good laptop.

    I love this computer but

I love this computer and use it everyday for normal things like stalking my boyfriend, watching YouTube, and playing sims 4. The only issue I run into is the battery life is pretty short, but the charging time is amazingly fast so there a fix to the problem? Either way I highly recommend this computer.

    Good value

Been using it for a month, very good performance for the money. First time Norton updated it caused a no boot condition. A quick restore and I was back in businessband uninstalled Norton, been working fine since. Good specs for the money, battery life isn’t spectacular at about 2.5 hours . Overall decent laptop value.

    Excellent experience ????

I love it it reads 64gb of ram perfectly and not to mention that it runs like a dream only down side by far is the battery life runs out fairly quickly but it’s what you get for having a gaming laptop you can get everything to run at the highest settings. Just don’t expect to be crazy mobile if you are gaming but if you are just doing office stuff or school work from a full battery you will get quite some life out of it I love this product even with the flaw it has.

Overall, satisfied with the quality of the product. It is really good, and I think the price is just great. Everything is exactly as it is described and advertised. The only thing is that it sometimes lags a little bit (although I’ve updated everything), unlike my previous laptop when I just bought it.Regardless, I am happy with the product and the price!

Great computer, but has its downsides

Only having 8 Gs of ram does take a toll on the computer, but overall, it has a decent battery life, is easy to carry around, and does what I need it to do. Easily plays SIMS, haven’t tried any other games however. But overall happy with my purchase, will be upgrading ram soon however

    Great starter gaming laptop

You get a pretty good bang for your buck with this laptop. Setup was easy, and so far I’ve no serious complaints. The only thing I will say is the battery life is less than desirable. When gaming, I’m lucky if it lasts an hour. When typing up documents or browsing the internet though, it lasts much longer. With that said, it runs games very smoothly and the graphics are great! Also, you may need to upgrade your ram if you want to download any bigger games.

Guys i know I know just listen.

Ok. I was worried when I bought this I wouldn’t be able to play any of the games I want. Buy a 8 gig ram stick and add it in. This has 2 ram slots. It runs fortnite max graphics at 120 FPS. It plays games like minecraft with good shaders on it at 60. It runs games like grounded and minecraft dungeons at max graphics beautifully. It’s an amazing computer. Fans can get a bit loud but just turn noise cancelation on discord and you’re good to go. Amazing laptop. And incredibly worth it for the money. My wife is getting one too. Windows 11 is also an amazing feature on this

Not too much to say here. I’m very happy I bought this computer. It’s fast and the graphics are brilliant! The fans can get a little noisy at times, when it’s under a heavy load, but if you’re wearing a headset while gaming you won’t even notice. Highly Rex this machine!

best “budget” laptop for a 3050ti laptop

I like the feel of the keyboard and just the size and frame of the whole product itself. Has slightly sharp edges so it hurts your forearm if you type and rest you arms on it. The performance is outstanding in playing games but you cant really multitask as much on it since it only has 8gb ram and a “good” CPU. but definitely can run at 60 or more in fps in warzone 2.0.

    Good but fans are loud

The laptop is definitely a great buy for the money. Only complaint I have is, if i have it plugged in while gaming or using resource intensive applications, the fans will come on VERY loud. I guess it’s because the intel i7 11th gen runs too hot and requires a loud fan to cool it down. Other than that everything runs great, including recent games.

Storage expandability, average Battery, bright Screen, powerful gpu and cpu

Powerful CPU (intel i7 11800h) and gpu (nvidia 3050 ti). Stays cooler than my 8th gen intel .Expandability is excellent with one nvme gen 4 (see attached photo with specs), one nvme gen 3 and sata hard disk. You can also upgrade ram to 64giga but is overkill, 2X16 is more than enough.Monitor model is Chi Model Mei [CMN1521] N156HRA-EA1 with Brightness 306 cd/m2, sRGB 66%, No PWM (Flicker-Free), Panel Type IPS, Contrast 1480:1.In other words, is pleasant in the eye but not suitable for photo editing. Anyway at this price range it’s difficult to find a photo editing monitor at 99% srgb.In my case this isn’t a problem since I use an external monitor connected through the hdmi or the thunderbolt 4 port at 4k 60hz.Battery is average. Audio is mediocre. All in all: it’s a bargain! [as long it lasts]

Great all around laptop for me so far

So I bought this thing when it was on mega sale and I’m so happy I did. I use it mainly for school and it’s so quick and responsive. I like the mousepad and the keyboard unlike some of the reviews I watched about it. The screen could look better though, it’s made of a nonreflective material that takes away the depth and shine of the colors and so it’s honestly not that eye catching. Overall look and feel of the laptop is solid, and sleek the red LED looks good with the matte black. worth the price I paid forsure I shoulda bought 2 lol. I played a few games and it ran Fortnite and rocket league pretty max. Happy customer

    Nice starter gaming laptop

Bought this on a deal. It has been a nice entry level gaming laptop for my husband. I like that this can be upgraded with the extra RAM slot and an extra SSD slot and 2.5 bay. Something to keep in mind, this does not accept anything made by crucial. I don’t know why, but I had a crucial nvme m2 internal ssd (4×4 gaming ssd) and a crucial 2.5 ssd and both caused the laptop to stay on a black screen upon boot up. After a lot of research, there were many forums from others saying they also ran into this problem and crucial storage is not compatible with the bios. Would I have bought this at full price at around $1000. No. For the deal I got it at, yes. If you can get this during a deal and looking for a great starter gaming laptop, this is a good choice to go with.

    Strange place.

For gaming the system is in a strange place. Both the XBOX Series X and S out perform it at 120 FPS using the same monitor. However… This system can hit higher FPS, though it is unstable and requires lower graphics. After adding 16 gb of ram it becomes more stable and viable at 144 FPS but still with lower graphics settings. Also this is while playing Fortnite. Other games may show different pros and cons.Overall, I am happy with this product as it is a laptop and can perform other tasks than just gaming while allowing for traveling.

It can run THE ISLE on EPIC settings.

I genuinely didn’t know what to expect with this laptop especially it being my very first gaming laptop. But all I ever wanted to play was the isle and if you don’t know what it is, it’s a extremely DEMANDING game and it’s only 20$ but you need such a good setup for it and it broke my heart but I was praying I could run it on atleast low or medium. Nah. It runs the smoothest I’ve ever played a game on epic I literally almost cried like a little boy loading in. Absolutely would recommend you can’t go wrong and it’s such a sharp and slick design. It’s just genuinely a amazing laptop and honestly I’d say it gives PC’s a run for their money. I’m going to be testing out God of War and spider man but I think it will run

At first.. It did not turn on. Not switching on!! Fixed

So, at first I thought it was dead on arrival.. I tried different outlets and all.. I was even requesting to a refund.. but I know this sounds like a simple fix.. step 1. Relax, Step 2. Put back the power cable and use a bit more force till you hear a click.. trust me.. I thought I was using enough force at first.. it should show the indicator light.. then switch it on.. good luck ????????

This laptop is an excellent PC for the cost. The performance is better than most desktop/laptops at similar price. There is no delay in loading videos or games and the visual quality is better than expected. I play Runescape 3, Lost Ark, Rust, Destiny 2, Apex Legends, etc in ultra with no problems at all. Decent laptop

I haven’t found any real problems with this laptop yet, has a program mapped to a key that allows you to change the mode from battery saving to optimal performance which is really handly. The same program has other features like allowing you to manually control the speed of both of its 2 internal fans (one for cpu and one for gpu). Awesome little laptop for its price point, great for all around use and runs most games at max settings with decent frame rate. Definitely worth the money to me.

I needed a new gaming laptop for a bit and this one is perfect. Runs fast, has space to had an extra hard-drive. Resolution is good for most games.(Ran Minecraft and Apex like a dream. But struggled with Forge for dnd)One complaint. She gets hot, the fans are really powerful and keep it pretty kool. Great buy especially for budget gaming

Performs well especially for a laptop and is great for gaming. I personally think that 8gb ram is a little too small for gaming and multitasking on your computer but it can be fixed by installing your own desired amount of ram later on. That goes as well for the SSD/HDD. Other than that it’s definitely it runs fine on a day to day basis.

If asked to do realistic tasks its a power house.

Keep expectations realistic do your research for what kind of games your gonna play how this hardware stacks up to running sed games and your gonna have a good time and be happy with your buy. The only ball drop by Microsoft or Acer was i had to download some additional C++ code to get some games running how they should. I play fighting games and this laptop suits my needs and runs the games without issue should also be enough to handle street fighter 6 with no issues playing more demanding games performance may decline. You also need to understand you absolutely will not be gaming without being plugged into the charger you will just gimp the component’s if you don’t play plugged into a outlet and have a bad time. Make sure you set up the PC to optimize performance and take full advantage of its dedicated nividia card and intel processor the ram can be upgraded but i would only put 16gigs in max the 8 gig stick is okay. The native 144hz screen is impressive for the price this laptop costs all in all if you know what your doing and know how games will run on the hardware that you want to play you will be happy with the buy. Understand this all depends on the type of games you want the hardware to play and what those games will be asking the system to preform i cant stress that fact enough please do your research before you buy that means you parents of children google and youtube are your friend when it comes to this.

Don’t trust the description or reviews. It works.

Battery life less than advertised. Horrible Windows 11 defaults have things being opened if the mouse just hovers over them and it took me a few days of trial and error to turn it off since it is no longer just a check box. Suggest not connecting to the internet until changing. Site claims made in Taiwan, but box state made in China. Bottom does not have access door for RAM upgrade so you need to take off the whole thing to upgrade. Still trying to adjust the backlight shutoff time. The hardware seems to be functioning well and of good quality. We’ll see how long it lasts, but I’m not expecting it to last the 10+ years my still functional old laptop did. Seems to be about on par with the old one even though it has half the RAM and the same level (newer generation) processor. If I had to do over I would have gone with the 17″ screen and RGB keyboard, and Thunderbolt port, but that’s just a personal preference.

A lot of bang for such little buck

This definitely can’t compare to my gaming desktop, but I needed something to hold me over while I was traveling out of state for 10 weeks for a training program in my new career. The build definitely feels like what I paid for (about $800), being a bit plastic and flimsy. However, the core components are pretty solid. I like the built in software for monitoring temps and controlling cpu and gpu fans separately. It does run a bit hot during high intensity applications (as to be expected with any laptop) but if you don’t mind the noise you can really let the fans rip.If I were rating this in a vacuum, without considering price it would be a 3.5/5 as the build, camera, and ram are a bit lackluster. However, as an under 1k travel rig, this thing really slaps. After my trip I’ll be able to get more mileage out of this as a DnD DM as it is compact enough to hang out behind my DM screen. The built in hdmi ports will be able to connect to a tv screen for digital battlemaps as well.Elden Ring and ESO both ran like dreams on this machine. I’m a big fan of AMD cards, but they are a lot harder to set up. I forgot how optimized nvidia cards come right out od the box. It was a pleasant surprise. The screen was nothing special, but it worked. I wish it were more vibrant and bright, but it wasn’t a total game breaker.

    Outstanding (with one downside)

I’ve had my fair share of laptops, for gaming and standard work, I can confidently say this is an outstanding laptop. It runs beautifully, with Windows 11 being the only meh thing about it (hopefully it gets better with more updates)The only limiting factor is the 8GB of RAM. At idle it uses 4.5GB, meaning more than half of your RAM is gone. I’d recommend getting another 8GB stick, as I did, and it made a HUGE difference! Easy fix, easy to install, just sucks it’s not a standard.I’m a huge fan of the included cable to add an SSD and tray for it inside the laptop. There are other companies that force you to buy the cable and it takes forever to arrive, but the fact that they included it with the laptop is amazing4/5, only because of the RAM. Everything else is more than worth the money!

    Decent laptop

I’ve only had this for a day now, so I can’t speak to longevity. All in all I’m pleased with this laptop. It’s lightweight but packs a punch still. Set up and updating was quick and easy. It’s a great utilization of space, only a slim border around the screen and keyboard.A few first impression negatives: you can see in other review images that it comes with 5 semi permanent stickers, (Nvidia, Intel, Alexa, 144hz, and a long feature banner). That was a bummer because they weren’t in the product image, and they look awful (not to mention some were crooked). Thankfully they’re removable, though I had to use glass cleaner to get rid of residue from one. Not a big deal though. The frame is very lightweight and flexible. The feet keep it raised which is good for cooling, but any pressure on the middle makes it flex, which I don’t love. It’s not going to crumble, but it’s definitely a step down from my Lenovo with a metal body. You’re paying for the internal components, not the frame.

    Great laptop.

Is this laptop top of the line, impress all your friends? No, but it runs games smoothly (for the most part, Ive found a hiccup once or twice.) I use this laptop for both music production and gaming. It’s handles everything ive thrown at it. Now comw of the con, sometimes a program will crash, nothing new for computers but as a new piece of equipment i would hope it doesnt do that. The keyboard backlight only stays up for about 15 seconds and goes dark till used again. This may bother or annoy some people like it does me, I have yet to find a solution for it. I’ve had one full blown crash but I do not remeber what I was doing but I remeber saying “that’s fair” so it could have been my fault. Overall I cant complain.

    Great laptop

It has its fair share of problems but it gets the job done…I thought it was working at first but if you do buy this just know that you have to push in the charger hard so that it goes in properly…. If you are trying to play hard games like CoD it won’t work so keep that in mind

    Good laptop but buyer beware

CPU: i7-11800H GPU 1: Intel UHD GPU2: RTX 3050TiOverall very satisfied by the speed and expandability. That said, beware that the RTX 3050Ti is only accessible in the HDMI external monitor that plugs in this laptop. Try as you will you can’t assign the RTX to work with the laptop display. Even tried installing drivers direct from nVidia and Intel instead of the Acer ones. I didn’t buy the machine for gaming, but needed a portable PC capable of running my 3D scanner. Acer is mum in their forums regarding the issue and the bundled Windows 11 doesn’t help either. There is no option in the BIOS to disable the Intel GPU. Knocking 1 star overall and 2 for the “gaming” category. Disappointing that I can’t run my 3D modeling software with the RTX instead of the Intel GPU.
