My son’s Christmas gift.
My son had been begging for a gaming laptop, and when we seen this one, we just had to get it. My husband and I already have nitro 5’s, and the price was really good. After just adding storage and ram, it runs great, and my son is extremely happy and loves this computer. Great buy.

Great work and gaming laptop so far!
Bought this after going through a handful of different laptops. I wanted something fast enough for video editing and also some light gaming. The main selling point of this was the GPU being faster than the other models available, even if the processor was slightly slower I need a more modern gpu for my workload. Battery life is okay, I was able to do some light gaming for about 2 hours on the airplane but I can’t imagine it lasts much longer if gaming the whole time.

Not a gamer
The main reason was the back lit key pad. Allot brighter then most and that’s what I needed to see the keys . Having all the extra USB ports was nice too.

I’ve had better
It’s just a meh, mid-quality “you get what you pay for” type gaming laptop. Again, I’ve had better back when I could afford more expensive brands and models. Unfortunately, nothing is made to last in this economy and they all eventually fell apart. Now I have this potato. Thanks ‘murrica!

It’s great but…
It’s great for a starting gaming laptop can run mostly all my games i have currently and I also use it for work, there is a slight issue with the screen timing out while it’s plugged in and also running a game, then I would “wake” it up my touching the touch pad then the screen wouldn’t respond sometimes or the mouse wouldn’t track properly until, I Alt+Tab to switch to the home screen real quick. That would usually fix the problem or just restart it

Pretty good laptop
Sad to say I returned this laptop. Not because of the performance. It was great, just that it wasn’t for my necessary needs.Great processor and dedicated video card. Played all the games I threw at it.It’s that 1) I personally found it too heavy for a lap to be a laptop lol and 2) I wanted to upgrade the ram and storage. I figured if I do that I might as well get a laptop that already has the ram and storage I wanted as well as more updated graphics card

Meets all my gaming needs
It arrived quickly and was protectively packaged. It works great and far exceeds the laptop I had been using previously to game on. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn’t have the money or space for a desktop computer. It also handles Discord way better than my previous computer. I could not be happier about my purchase and the affordable cost.

Great for Gaming
Bought this for my son. He loves it! Did some research before I bought it. The graphics card is a good value for the money. It only has 8 GB of memory but that’s been enough for the games he’s played. It looks cool and seems well made. The red backlit keyboard is a nice touch. Battery life is not amazing but you don’t buy a sports car for the mpg. If it hade come with 16 GB for the same price, this would be a 5 star review.

Fast!
This is a very fast laptop. I enjoy the red light up keyboard. Generally, the performance is outstanding, but I would say that the dual fans drain the battery rather quickly, and I cannot get the same amount of work done before the battery dies on this particular laptop compared to others, which only have a single fan. Outside of that blemish I think it’s absolutely fantastic and I am very happy with the purchase.

My son’s birthday
I got this for my son’s 16th birthday. He’s into gaming, both playing and designing. I didn’t have thousands to spend on a gaming laptop, but I was able to afford this one. The best part is, it’s number one in every metric online when compared to other lower priced gaming laptops. It’s said to be the best one you can get off you’re on a budget. And they weren’t wrong. It has everything he needs/wanted. The graphics are perfect for all his games, and it doesn’t lag/glitch/load slow for anything he’s played so far. So everything he’s done has been smooth and crisp. It has an SSD drive so load times are milliseconds, the only thing I’d that there’s only 8 gbs of ram, but there is a slot and we plan on doubling it, so no actual problem. It has windows 11, which I’m sure is good for something, and it has met and exceeded everything he’s needed or wanted from it. This is a great buy, at a reasonable price, especially if you want a real gaming laptop. If you’re looking at another one, I’m telling you, you’ll regret not getting this one. Truly the best one in it’s price range.

Great price for what you get……easy to add some upgrades too
This is an amazing laptop for what you pay. The RTX 3050 is pretty dang capable and the 12th gen I5 processor is better than the 11th gen I7. There is a caveat that come with the price. First, it only comes with 1 stick of 8 gig RAM. This is pretty much the bare minimum that you can get away with for windows 11. Windows ran and I could even play a few games, but performance is throttled because the memory will be maxed out. There’s an extra DIMM to add memory. I would recommend that you buy at least one 8 gig stick of Crucial (this brand is approved to work with Acer) memory (DDR4 3200MHz CL22) and add it to the empty DIMM. It should be pretty cheap. I bought 2 sticks of 16 gig (32 total) for $70 and it’s running quick and smooth. Accessing the motherboard to replace the memory was probably one of the easiest laptops I have ever done. I’m also going to replace the M.2 drive with a Crucial T500 1Tb drive. The one it comes with is 500 gigs and the one I’m buying has a faster read/write speed but the drive it comes with is capable. Also, there’s 2 M.2 slots to use.

Okay for a starter gaming laptop
Purchased for my son. After two months, the battery swelled and required replacement. This was an easy and relatively inexpensive repair, but shouldn’t have been necessary. Replacement battery is still working very well. The machine I purchased came with only 8gb of RAM. That’s simply not enough. The machine is only expandable to 32gb…. so we pulled the installed 8gb chip and then installed two 16gb chips to max the machine out. That upgrade helped out quite a bit. The Video card only has 4gb of VRAM which really isn’t enough for some of the newer games available, but it is reasonable enough for decent game play. You’ll probably have to tone down the video settings for some games though to avoid lag. The machine also only came with a half-terabyte SSD drive. That also isn’t enough. Machine’s storage is expandable though. Our plan is to utilize the 2nd PCIe Gen 4 slot by installing at least a 2TB drive. In summary… Good economic starter gaming computer. If my son gets into more intense games, we will probably look at something a lot more powerful for the next option.

Review after 2 weeks
at $950 I had to take the chance on this laptop despite some of the reviews being bad. If you’re considering this laptop my guess is you’re like me in that you dont want to build a pc yourself for whatever reason. I would say this was a fair purchase but if you can wait, i’d say save up a bit more and get a pc built for yourself at microcenter or something. I have played many games and all of them can be played on at least medium settings with no lag. That would include cyberpunk 2077 to give you an idea. I really only have one problem with the laptop and it makes it a bad long term investment. From fully charged, i can only game for maybe 50 minutes. Cant even reach an hour. If that sounds unpleasant to you then pass on this. Otherwise it serves its purpose for me in playing all the games I couldn’t on my previous laptop.Months later and I am still pleased with the laptop. It acts a bit different from when I got it. Before I would only play games without it being plugged in and so I could only play for an hour before I turned it off to charge. In that state I could play most high end games on medium settings with no lag. That is no longer the case. Now I lag on the lowest settings on these games and even games I feel should not lag at all. But this is only while unplugged. While it is charging I can play any game I want on high settings and on some older games the highest settings. I play cyberpunk 2077 on high but that’s cause I don’t care to push the limits. This laptop can run anything care free while plugged but I just here to play in that state. I looked online and apparently that’s normal for gaming laptops, they utilize all their strength when plugged and it’s no problem playing in that state. But I’d hate for the battery to die sooner by doing that so I play a game called nioh while unplugged since it can handle it. And I play assassin’s Creed origins on the highest settings while plugged and charging up. I try not to play for long past the point it’s fully charged. So this is my experience, I say it was money well spent.

Great laptop
I like the size of the screen and the overall solid feel of the laptop. Its very fast and efficient. The only con Ive found so far is it gets very hot (I do play my game for hours tho)however the built in fans are very effective at the ultra setting and able to cool the laptop down substantially. So far great gaming laptop. Graphics are beautiful BUT screen brightness is lacking a little but not much.Pros- Fast , Efficient, Good Graphics, Loud and clear sound quality.Cons- Temp, Loud fans, Screen could be a tad bit brighter.I got the model that goes for $799 regularly. No regrets with this purchase it does what I wanted it to do.

This is a great gamer for cheap!
For the price this laptop is a great game pc. You can get a larger screen, faster chipsets and a bigger HD but for under $700 this thing rocks! I can’t load all my games at once on its 500GB drive but I don’t have to. Especially in the age of Steam. For the price and with beautiful graphics and only occasional restarts (Crysis) I am very happy.

It freezes when it heats up.
I’m playing with it for about 10 days now and it’s been freezing the games when it heats up. There’s a native app called nitro sense, where you can speed up the coolers, but it wasn’t enough to play Ori and the will of wisps on full or red dead redemption on ultra mode. I got external coolers and it got better. I had to low the graphics to have a better playing experience. Battery doesn’t last more than an hour of play time. My power bill raised a bit. I’d give it an 8/10 score. In general, it’s a good gaming PC.

Why 4 **** and not 5
I really like the laptop, I use it for video editing and it renders videos very fast. However the laptop is not CRU compliment or customer replacement unit parts. To access the spot to add an extra SSD or RAM the ENTIRE back must be removed. And to add an extra SSD requires using the supplied ribbon, however my black ribbon lock fell into the computer so I can’t add an extra SSD.A tip, if you want the red keyboard backlight to remain on while in use the setting is in the BIOS.Overall the performance of the laptop for the cost is very much worth buying. So yes I recommend it. However if you intend to add an extra SSD or RAM, better have someone with lots of experience and tiny fingers. BTW I have 5 IT degrees and still found upgrading a challenge.

battery life is short when utilizing all the features, ie: speed and graphics.
Good graphics and speed but battery life is short, less than 2 hrs.and the plastic case is very susceptible to finger print stains and is difficult to get and keep clean. It is impossible to find a 90 degree charger or adapter, as the one that comes with it sticks straight out of the back, which can be awkward.

Great gaming laptop for price
It’s a really great all in one gaming laptop for the price. It plays most games. Though, I played Lie of Pie from steam and it would run well for awhile, but later the graphics will be a little off and stop(but it could be somethibg else). Otherwise, it’s great and can play high demanding graphics. I also played Insurgency Sandstorm on Steam and it played great for hours. Battery life for playing games is very short and needed to be plugged in. If playing lighter games like WOW, it can maybe last for an hour. For other uses like youtube, work, movies and etc.,the battery will last longer.

I was worried at first as a strange sound was coming from inside like a moving neck chain… I had faith in it as I didn’t want to return as I love it, I did reported the issue though. It’s been about 3 months now and it’s working perfectly fine and I’m no longer hearing the sound.

My son really likes it!
He uses it for gaming & he was running out of storage, so he had a higher processor installed. The guys who did it said that’s what a lot of gamers actually do to save money instead of opting for the more expensive laptops with more memory.

Good performance
Would jot recommend for AAA games like cod 4gb vram is just not enough or 8gb ram and if u do play on trying to play games like that id get a16gb 3200mhz ram and upgrade to 24gb or even get 2 16gb stacks and go for 32 just cause the GPU will share memory but runs great play r6 at 1080 high settings and it capps the fps limit at 144fps

My gamer Dad loves it!
I gifted this laptop to my Dad because he’s a gamer and was long overdue for an upgrade. He plays WOW and OW fluidly and loves it. It runs smoothly. I’m unsure of how hot it runs because I also purchased an external fan for it and he uses it all the time. No complaints so far!
