So far so good
I’ve been testing the very limits of this laptop, it tends to be noisy on turbo mode, and you can really take all of its juice in that mode. Battery life is normal, the fps are as listed. It doesn’t have a Webcam.

It’s worth the money!
It surpassed what I imagined a gaming laptop could do. It does everything with blazing speed. A little loud and can run hot, but overall a gaming beast. My son couldn’t be happier!

Runs smooth as silk and is just as I’d hoped it would be. Just make sure you get a cooling pad to put under it. It does get warm while gaming.

Really nice gaming laptop
This is the first gaming laptop I have ever purchased. I am primarily using it as a productivity laptop, while my son uses it for gaming. It has great specs, and seems to be good quality. As for gaming performance, it seems to work well, although we haven’t really put it through anything particularly demanding, yet.

Faster than my $4,000 desktop
Absolutely love this laptop. It’s faster than my desktop I spent $4k on at less than half the price. It could use more RAM and storage, but for the price I’m not going to complain too much. It stays fairly cool, even under intense graphic load. I love the 240Hz display… Like LOVE it. I’m now spoiled rotten to 240Hz displays.

Constant Wifi Problems
Got this for college and worked pretty well for a couple months. However, it keeps disconnecting from the wifi and nothing shows up when you look for available networks. I know it’s a wifi adapter problem cause every time this issue occurs, the device has a yellow exclamation sign next to it!! I have to reset my entire network settings and restart the computer to get back on the internet!!

The rgb lighting is really smooth, no hotspots or anything. The noise is quiet, not silent but quiet. It runs really fast and smooth. Pretty damn good in my opinion.

This is an excellent gaming laptop!
For the money, you just cannot beat ASUS. I had a Dell gaming laptop before this one, and this just blows Dell out of the water in terms of features specific to gaming. I am very, very happy with this purchase so far. I’ll update this review as I learn more.

great laptop for a decent price.
You get what you pay for, but looking around black fri deals (in 2020) Walmart had same laptop lower specs (9thgen i7, 1660ti, 512GB SSD) for roughly the same price as this laptop with much better specs (10thGen i7, RTX2070, 1TB SSD NVME), and it just makes sense to get this one.

I only got this laptop yesterday, but I am already quite fond of it. It’s speedy, it handles my favorite games with gracious ease, the sound is nice, and keyboard effects are amazing. I was also pleasantly surprised with graphics quality, I didn’t expect that from an ASUS.

So Far So Good!
To be frank I am not used to laptops. However I needed this for various reasons. This laptop is great for average Use. I wrote a previous review but i felt it was rather quick. I have had this laptop for perhaps a bit over a week.I won’t bore anyone reading this with fancy words to make you think I know a lot of technology .I honestly sat down and tested playing swtor on this two hours later the CPU was running at a whopping 86C. I mean sure it might not sound hot but it is had it reached 90C it would of shut down.I have a thermal pad. that does not help.I read that you should replace their K4 Pro with K5 Pro and Their thermal grease. Personally i prefer to not have to do all that Jazz.Hardware is decant not latest and greatest but not slow . It’s worth the money if you are willing to looking into more than a heating pad for cooling.

A beast. A very loud beast.
Let’s start by saying this thing is a beast. For the price I am getting what I wanted and expected, a decent gaming laptop. My gaming needs aren’t exceptional, as i mostly play MMO’s, but so far it has delivered in frame rates at high graphic settings.Pros:* Excellent graphics card* Ability to switch between performance and quiet/battery life* 240 Hz display. Very nice* Keyboard has a nice solid feelMeh* The speakers. Very meh.Ewww* The fans. They get ridiculously loud when gaming on turbo mode. I mean, I guess one might expect that, but even so, they exceeded what I expected for sureVerdict: Very happy with my purchase.

Great gaming computer ~75 FPS Cyberpunk Ultra settings
My Laptop: ASUS ROG Strix G15 (2020) Gaming Laptop, 15.6” 240Hz FHD IPS Type Display, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070, Intel Core i7-10750H, 16GB DDR4, 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD, RGB Keyboard, Windows 10, Black, G512LW-ES76This is a super powerful computer when plugged in. It is almost useless as a gaming computer when on battery. It is amazing when not gaming on battery though. Spiking between 24 watts to 265 watts of power when playing demanding games so this is expected. Beautiful computer that plays almost as well as my desktop PC that is an i9 9900k with a 2080 Super. Make sure to have a plug though!

Runs super hot !!!
This little laptop is one heck of a deal for the money. In fact, it’s too much of a good thing in a tiny package. With the 2070 graphics card, it got so hot while playing Destiny 2 and Divinity 2 that it was uncomfortable to the touch. Even with the graphics turned down to about mid settings and aCooling pad, Divinity tended to lock up and stop responding. It’s a very attractive laptop with great features and a very creative light display but be careful how many high end components you select as I found the cooling capabilities to be insufficient for the higher end graphics and processor. On the bright side, with a cooling pad, it kept my coffee super hot for hours just by setting it next to the laptop !!! That’s how much heat this thing kicks out.

Very, very good. Only one or two flaws.
What do I like about this laptop?-Value for money: you won’t find a laptop that looks and feels this good for the price with the specs.Build quality: immaculate. It’s not metal, but it’s damn tight nonetheless. No screen or keyboard flex, and it feels as solid as a brick– not overly heavy, just solidly built.Screen quality: amazing. The 240hz display really shines, and the colors are very accurate and vivid. Some other laptops in this price range only cover about 60% of the srgb color gamut, but this one is very close to, if not 100%. For a gamer or someone not doing precise art or visual editing, this is fantastic. Response time is great at 3ms.The included asus software is intuitive for the most part, but I do still have to mess around with it a little bit to master some of the more advanced settings.Thermals: the thermals are typically in a very good range, even under load. I don’t own a desk, so I have it resting on my bed when gaming– that’s typically bad for cooling. However, I’ve kept an eye on the temps, and it hasn’t yet gone into a range where I felt it was in danger of throttling. The computer itself stays cool to the touch too, with the exception of the heat vents.Fan noise: even at full speed, they’re not annoying. They don’t have the higher pitch that some other laptops have (ex: acer helios 300). And when you put them on silent mode? They’re inaudible. The keyboard will take some getting used to, I think? But it’s still good. The arrow keys are shrunk a little, and I often hit the caps lock key instead of the a key. Also– can’t find the number lock key to turn the trackpad into a touch numberpad? Not a big issue, but very confusing. The lights: very flashy! They aren’t as reactive as I’d like when put into music mode, but I’m sure I’ll live lol.All in all, there’s a few minor things that I’m not crazy about, but I still love that laptop. 9.5/10 from me!

Review from a normal Desktop Gamer
Update…. so I still love this laptop however there is one major issue. If you want to play portable (without the charger) you Cannot play in turbo mode. That means for games like destiny 2 you would get 30/50 frames. When you have it plugged in and on turbo you get in the low 100s so double the frames. Just something to think about if you are wanting to play without having to be plugged in.I have only had this for 1 day officially so I will go over first impressions and update if anything changes.1.) Performance: i have a Desktop PC with a I7-9700k and 2080 Super. It feels like equal Performance and I appear to be getting comparable FPS. The Sound is ok better then most monitor speakers.2.) Battery: while its expected on gaming laptops not on the charger running turbo you may get 2 hours (maybe) there are worse batteries out there so on high performance 2 hours is generous. If you are playing without power kick back to performance mode (you may lose some FPS) but you might get another 20-30 minutes of battery.3.) Fans: you can change the fan level extremely easy. Silent is 100% quiet. Performance mode you can hear it slightly but not loud enough to bother you. Turbo (what should be used while gaming) is noticeably loud however not as loud as other similarly priced models so I was shocked there.4.) Weight: it is very heavy. Its not so heavy that you can’t transport it easily but its noticeably heavier then you would expect. Not a deal breaker.5.) RGB: if you are really into RGB this Laptop may have been made for you. RGB is nice but I bought it more for the Performance. I Generally turn RGB off but it looks great on this laptop so I left it in Static.Overall: since its only been 1 day I can’t say if it’s 100% worth it but after my first day I am going to say it is. I have not experienced any noticeable issues while gaming it has been running cool while under load. I would buy this again if I was still on the market.

Screen is flimsy, but computer is POWERFUL.
The screen is more flimsy than I would like for the price, but though it doesn’t have a ton of bells and whistles, it works extremely well for the causal gaming I do on it. I enjoy the high-detailed games like RDR2 and Cyberpunk, and with some minor adjustments, they run at solid FPS and quality.

A beast with some flaws
First of all, this laptop is amazing. It’s a gaming laptop and it’s good at being one. It is super snappy and doesn’t freeze one bit. Don’t expect the battery to last you an entire day though. From what I’ve seen in the last couple of days it averages around 3.5~4 hours of usage and maybe can get a bit more if you turn off anything unnecessary, lower the brightness, etc… If you want to use the entire performance of your laptop it has to be plugged in too, or maybe I still haven’t figured that out yet. The touchpad was a bit sticky at first but after a few minutes it is perfect, even for sweaty hands. There are multiple versions of this laptop, some with the numpad on the touchpad and others without, so consider this if the numpad is important!Pros:Very powerfulGreat design!High refresh rate screen is gorgeous1TB M.2 is fastHaving the charger port in the back makes less of a mess on the sides (See edit)Some variety of ports (3xUSB A and 1×3.5mm jack on the left side – 1xUSB-C, 1xHDMI, 1xEthernet on the back)Cons:Small batterySpeakers are alright but not the best (can easily be fixed by using headphones)Must be plugged in to fully use the GPUFans are very loud when the GPU is maxed and you can feel some heat on the top area of the laptop.EDIT: After using the laptop for a longer while, having the charging port at the back turned out not to be as convenient as I thought. Most of the time I would just grab the laptop forgetting it was plugged in and dropping most of the stuff on the table.

A Solid Machine
Overall Very Pleased:Pros:Runs pretty quite and coolTears up the Superposition Benchmark especially at laptop screen’s native 1080p – I was really impressed with how it handled super realistic graphicsSetup was easy enough and also easy to register with Asus for the warrantyLighter than it looksPlacement of ports frees up the right hand side for mouse actionStreaming, Editing, Content Creation are a JOKE this machine doesn’t even breathe harder when you open more apps while gaming.Cons:You really SHOULD know it by reading the specs – but no webcam. Setting up an external webcam is super easy and you can go very high quality then. When you plug or unplug while it’s on it does a half second black screen. Not sure why, but fine as long as it’s normal?

Great laptop for the price!
So I shopped around a bit before getting this laptop. With two little ones, being able to game at my desktop was virtually impossible. I absolutely love this laptop, it’s fast and the graphics are beautiful. It is fairly heavy, but that is to be expected. I will say the fans do get a little loud an dit does get hot, so I got a cooling pad which helps.

Great specs at this price point with a couple trade offs
Purchased this as a Christmas gift for myself. I’ve been console gaming for years and this is my first foray back into PC gaming in 20 years. Overall I’m very happy with the purchase, given the price for specs trade off.First off, note that this laptop doesn’t have a web cam. That’s not good or bad. It saves a bit of money in manufacturing cost so you get more specs instead but if you really want/need a web cam, know that this laptop doesn’t have one. This laptop performs as advertised so I’ll only list the things that might be of interest to people. The only issue I’ve noticed is a backlight leak in the bottom left of the screen. This is only noticeable when displaying an all black image but it’s there. It’s not a big enough deal to me to return but there and it’s the only issue I’d list as a defect.I’m a 40 something dude and the RBGs are a little much for me. The default is a rainbow of color that scrolls across the keyboard. I quickly found the setting to make that a constant keyboard backlight of any shade of color I wanted. Problem solved. So here might be the interesting part for people, the fan. This is a “gaming laptop”. These two words are hard to reconcile. A gaming system generates a lot of heat. A laptop is supposed to be super portable so it’s small and compact. When you make a laptop for gaming you need a solution to getting rid of all that heat in a compact computer so a fan running fast is the standard solution. There is just no way to get around it at this price point. Maybe a more expensive laptop might have a quieter solution. Here’s the thing though, the fan is not an annoyance for anyone in my family, including my wife watching a show or reading a book right next to me. It runs at a pretty constant rate and has a consistent wind blowing sound that quickly turns into background white noise. Now the fan doesn’t always run like this, only in “turbo”/game playing mode, and only when actually playing a game. There is a “silent” mode you can set it to with a dedicated button for it and it will throttle your performance to ensure the fan doesn’t need to come on. This is fine for web browsing and the like. There is also a “Performance” mode in between Silent and Turbo. Reading other reviews, some people can’t stand the fan, and some peoples’ fans might actually be broken, but the normally functioning fan is not an issue or any worse that similarly priced systems. There just isn’t a quiet way to get all the heat generated by gaming PC parts crammed into a laptop. If you are looking for a super quiet system while gaming, this isn’t it and I’m not sure if such a solution is out there. And note that you can’t run in “turbo” mode without being plugged in. That shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Gaming parts need a lot of power, way too much for a laptop battery can supply. When you are gaming on a gaming laptop, expect to always need to be plugged in.Lastly, would I buy this again? Yes, great specs for the price. The trade off is in the plastic body. If I’m still PC gaming in 5 years, when these specs are no longer enough, I’ll probably get a system with a metal body. I want to be able to hold the laptop by the corner and not worry about stressing the body. There is no indication I am over stressing when I do this but I don’t have confidence in it so I try to limit that. The problem is that these specs in a metal body is much more expensive. For now, I’m completely satisfied and gaming away.

Great laptop, although gets hot and power cord sucks
I love this computer, bought it 2 years ago and have been using it ever since. Its been great for anything from schoolwork, to gaming, to making games with unreal engine! I’ve had a problem that basically started right after I got it however, and its been extremely frustrating. Every time I move the power cord while its plugged in to the computer, even a little accidental jostle, it stops charging. It makes it super annoying to use the laptop while plugged in, and since the laptop only has like 2 hours of battery life unplugged, it is a massive issue I’ve had with it. I still need to find a replacement power cord, and since all of the power cords I’ve seen don’t look exactly like the original, and since they cost around 80-100 dollars, I haven’t replaced it. I can live with the issue, but its really annoying. Other than that issue, the laptop runs great, runs kind of hot however, so I do not recommend using it directly on your lap much, a desk or table is much better. Love the fan adjustment button, and the RGB looks great! Runs vr pretty well, although gets really hot, and runs unreal well too. Overall I would recommend, as I think the power cord in mine is just defective or something.

Great Purchase for Gaming and School
Could not be more happy with this product. The screen quality has blown me away. For the price it is everything you want and more. One negative is that the fans are loud however it is only when gaming and at the end of the day you have a rtx 2070 in a laptop you should expect for significant cooling requirements. All in all 5 out of 5.

Solid asus again.
Start up speed is great. Fast operation overall. It’s a laptop so if course it runs hot while gaming and puts a quick hurt on the battery charge. No thermal issues while gaming. Pretty much just leave plugged in while gaming so not too concerned with battery life. Non gaming unplugged operation with balanced power setting is good for use time.

The best laptop for architectural design jobs.
The laptop was a present for my daughter on her first job as an Architecture. She have to use different types of software to do estrutural drawings, renders, designs, etc. And with this laptop she said that now everything she does is faster and can accomplish more tasks in less time. She is very, I meant very, VERY HAPPY with that laptop.

I’ve had this laptop for a few days, it’s amazingly capable, drawing out even more out of the RTX 2070 mobile due to it’s liquid metal cooling. The led RGBs on the laptop are amazing and easily configurable through Asus “Aura” software.the downsides in my view are the battery life which is short even for a gaming laptop (which is a pretty big negative to be honest) and the lack of a webcam.

awesome Laptop
The media could not be loaded.
i use this laptop for ARK gaming, on steam and it looked very nice playing on high/ epic settings, and the water and sky were amazing, and to be honest its really fast, Youtube music on settings it will play on 4k 2160p so smooth…. and when you play music the lights will go with the music beat. i will recommend this laptop to anyone that likes the awesome lights and the speed…to be honest, ima order another one.

Amazingly Powerful!
What a beast! It handles anything you throw at it. Will crush any popular first person shooters and just about anything else even at Ultra graphics. I have not tried any VR games so keep that in mind but every thing else is without a doubt a breeze with this machine. No camera on this but for me it wasn’t an issue and the battery is tiny, but again this is a gaming pc and spends most of its life plugged in. If you need those things then keep them in mind.

Great for graphic design and for gaming
I have one of these laptops that I use for Adobe programs and other various graphic design programs and I run with little to no issue (unless I’m getting brave and work on creating a vector in Inkscape that has too many nodes – but that’s just me pushing the limits – it limps through). My husband wanted a good gaming laptop so we ordered him the exact same one and he loves it. He can run Arc on wide open graphics and settings with zero lag.

MS Flight Simulator 2020 runs very smoothly
I purchased this gaming laptop mostly for playing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Even with Ultra settings, it renders very well, no freezing, etc.I was originally planning to upgrade RAM to 32GB, however it seems like I won’t need to do that at least for a while. As other mentioned, it does NOT have an embedded webcam and the fans can be considered loud during the games. And somehow you should not unplug it from power if you want smooth gaming experience. All in all: Highly recommended.

COD COLD WAR runs at 80 avarage FPS and GPU temp is about 75C , ultra settings , med RT.
i’m using it for about 2 months and i’m very happy with my purcashe.FANS loud only when you gaming (it’s normal but you should buy cooler surface ,very helpful). beware about windows 2004 build , made my WIFI crashed .very recommended to rollback to previous build.beside of this everything is just fantastic.P.S – if you have monitor with 144HZ and above , connect it to the laptop with USB C -> DisplayPort otherwise you will get only 120HZ .

Great gaming laptop.
I’ve only had it for a few days, but so far this laptop is great. I’m currently playing Cyberpunk 2077 and the laptop keeps up on high and Ultra settings without a hitch. The only complaint, if it’s really one at all, is the fans get a little noisy when they rev up. This is my first laptop, as I’ve been a PC guy my whole life, and I will likely not go back.
