ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED, S5406MA-AS96
Perfect for school and basic photo/video editing. The light weight makes it easy to carry in a backpack all day and the battery life lasts me at least four days of basic note taking and web browsing. The 16:10 aspect ratio prevents the 14” display from feeling to narrow or claustrophobic. The laptops OLED display is also a pleasure to look at. Colors are more vibrant and accurate, and dark shadows are inky black. The 1TB included storage is super fast, as well as the 16GB of RAM. Although I would have liked to see a 32GB RAM option to accompany the super fast Intel Core Ultra 9. Build quality is also a little rough at the moment. I had to get my first order replaced because of a bent display and chassis that left a gap when closed. Luckily my current unit does not have this issue, so just remember to check your new laptop for any obvious defects before using it. For those reasons, I have to take away one star 🙁 . Overall I’m very happy with the user experience. It also comes with a cardboard laptop stand in the box, which is pretty neat. For $899, this is a great daily driver windows laptop.

Overall good except fan noise in heavy load
There are 3 things that I didn’t like about it. Firstly, those mfs say it is 120Hz but it isn’t. They send me one with 60Hz display. Secondly, the laptop gets extremely noisy on heavy load. I have to swtich to standart fan mode when I’m building my projects. Thirdly, it came with pre installed windows 11 which sucks. I noticed a number of bug in this windows. I’m a software engineer and I also have bachelors degree in computer science. So I know what am I writing about. That’s it. Overall laptop is good, solid build quality, lightweight and oled screen looks awesome. If those 3 problems above aren’t the case for you you should buy it. I also did some gaming on it and I am satisfied with it.

buena laptop compacta con pantalla OLED
Es bastante delgada y la calidad de construcción es sólida, los 2 USB A, 2 USB C, HDMI y lector de tarjetas SD están muy bien para este tipo de portátil. La pantalla se ve realmente bien, a pesar de que solo tiene 60HZ de tasa de refresco, se valora mucho que sea OLED. Ninguna queja sobre el rendimiento, el único aspecto no tan positivo es el calentamiento, pero es de esperar por el procesador y el cuerpo delgado y metálico del equipo.

Small, quiet and powerful enough
What can I say?I was specifically looking for something small, lightweight and with performance that would cover my educational needs, in particular, working with special programs.Overall, I am happy with my choice.Good screen, normal sound. I do not listen to music on the laptop. For this I have good speakers and headphones but if do not nitpick, the sound is really good.This is not my first Asus. My first laptop was more productive and covered 100% of my needs but it was heavier and inconvenient to move. Also, in some places there was play and creaking. There were also light spots on the screen near the frame.This laptop does not have such problems. Nothing creaks, the screen is fine, although it has a different type of matrix but I really like it.It’s just a pity that you can’t choose a larger amount of RAM.

Overall this laptop is meeting all my expectations. The screen is nice, the keyboard works smoothly, the entire unit feels pretty solid. I’m using it for basic stuff like Microsoft office , web browsing, and streaming.

originally had problems, they were all user error
I had some issues right away with lagging and not booting up. It was all user error. Bitlocker doesn’t allow it to boot up if it is connected to the internet via usb. and I had to turn off a lot of the start up apps and remove unused apps from my old computer when I transferred everything over. Now I love this computer.

Fast but inconsistent
It is a good product, It is fast at normal tasks. It has a good screen. Multiple connection ports.Battery drains by itself when it’s not used but last for normal used, web. On heavy use will drain fast.Rather have a Mac because I know the battery will not disappear while doing nothing.

Good Computer
I have had this computer for a month and overall I like it. My only complaint is that it has a very poor Webcam. It is fuzzy and looks like I am using one purchased at a big box store for $5.00. I previously had a Microsoft Surface which has a great camera. I plan on using the Surface whenever I need to use a Webcam because the Webcam on this Asus is unacceptable.Update: I spoke with ASUS customer service about the camera issue. They determined the problem was for some reason the computer BIOS needed to be reset. That resolved the camera resolution problem and the image quality is much better. They were very helpful so I have changed the rating to 4 stars
