    This thing is a beast!

I ordered the pimped out version with 64 GB ram and 2 TB SSD for music and video editing. I expected it to sound like a jet engine spooling up (my last one did), but it is whisper quiet. I did a good it of research before buying to make sure it would meet my needs. One reviewer (a music producer) said, “It will take whatever you throw at it and laugh at it.” I believe it. It just goes sailing through whatever I ask of it. I run some pretty big software, and it just cruises along. I’m happy with the processing speeds, and the storage goes on for days. I do wish it had more usb ports instead of the HDMI and Ethernet ports. I realize it is a gaming laptop and those may be useful in that capacity- I wouldn’t know – but it would be nice if they offered a choice in the configuration. They did throw in a Dockztorm Portable USB Hub, but it has a cable that makes it floppy. So I bought 2 Type C to USB adapters to use in the Type C ports when I need the extra ports. So far, this thing is amazing. I haven’t unleashed DaVinci Resolve on it with my 60 fps/4k GoPro videos yet, but it should take even that in stride.I thought there was something wrong with the speakers at first, but I think the max volume is dependent on the program I am using. The max volume on my DAW is very low, but I usually use my Beats headphones for that anyway. Just expected a gaming laptop to roar. I haven’t put the graphics card through its paces yet, but so far what pix and videos I’ve seen look great. So this is just my first impression, really. It may take 2 to 3 months to really see what this will do with video editing, but so far I’m impressed.
