    Absolutely stunning image 144hz@10bit color

This was an upgrade from my 27″ 165hz gtek monitor. I play a lot of WoW and FPS games and the difference this monitor made was beyond my expectations! I have a 4070ti running with a 5950x so Im usually playing games on ultra settings. I did heed the warning from another reviewer, stating that this 165hz monitor runs 8bit color @ 165hz and10bit color@144hz. So I’d recommend doing this as well when playing NON fps shooter games like WoW.First game I loaded was WoW and immediately had to redo all my interface settings (elvui). But my God is the image so beautiful, compared to before.I then loaded up helldivers2 and this is where I was really impressed. The explosion from the napalm bombs really stick out to me, because of how realistic they were. This monitor is definitely worth the money. I was prepared to drop more money on another, smaller monitor before I came across this. I am not disappointed at all.

    NOT 165Hz Refresh, 60/100Hz

The specs are 165Hz refresh, not 100Hz max. My gaming rig is more than capable of outputting the resolution at the max refresh rate. Don’t waste your money. I should have gotten the Rog Strix series.

    Very noticeable ghosting

I noticed in any dark scene when you move from left to right there is always a ghosting affect no matter how fast you move from side to side you will see a red/green ghosting affect and it’s very noticeable. It’s very bright and the 165 hz make it great to game on but the ghosting can be very distracting.

    Great Monitor

So many features and the HDR is great, this makes high FOV games so much more enjoyable and going from a 1080p monitor this is a big upgrade. Not to mention this has anti-glare coating which they dont mention but its such a nice touch to the monitor. No issues so far so I am very happy with my purchase.

    Highly rated ultrawide

So I have a 1080p ultrawide I bought many years ago that still works fine but is getting on in years, so I finally decided to replace it. After much research, I landed on this one which was on sale and its well reviewed, comes highly recommended and after using it, I can see why. The images are crisp and the increased resolution and quality are very apparent. I use it for gaming mostly, but also watching videos, and it’s a huge improvement over my old ultrawide, to the point that I am considering upgrading my PC itself to take full advantage of this new monitor. Just be forewarned, if you use HDMI it will handicap your refresh rate, so using DisplayPort is recommended if you want to take full advantage of its high 165 Hz refresh.

    Big

Wasn’t expecting this 😂 was a bit bigger then I thought and the stand is not for small desks which I have . But that’s not a negative on the monitor just think about your space. Stand extends a good amount on my small desk to were I thought of getting a mount for the desk for it. Seems sturdy but does wiggle from fast mouse movements gaming on mine. Easy hook up. Connection easy as cable is in the box plugged right into GPU. I can adjust the height rather easy and the picture is pretty clear . I messed up though because I thought this was a 4k monitor at first so was a tiny bit disappointed until I looked at 4k prices and for my setup 1440p is just fine for me . Kind a the sweet spot hitting high fps on a ultrawide screen using a 7800xt GPU .

    Lover the size.

I have the same monitor size at my work office, so it only made sense to get one for the home office. It works perfectly for what I need when I work from home. I can utilize it with multiple areas because of the size of the monitor. I replaced 2 24 in monitors with the one 34 in curved monitor and I am much happier with this choice.

This is a great monitor and a good compromise between low end VA and high end IPS Displays

I bought this monitor after one friend bought the 32″ version and another had a 35″ Asus Professional Graphics monitor. The color and brightness are absolutely superb. The color saturation is very very good. I do notice on some menu and load screens some color gradient effect but when actually using the monitor I don’t have any issues. The sRGB gamut is just really lovely to use. Though if you’re not looking head on blacks do tend to appear a little grey but sitting directly in front of it, it’s beautiful and ambient light doesn’t seem to have any effect on the screen when playing games. Some people claim this monitor has ghosting. I can’t say I’m a competitive gamer who needs 1ms GTG so 1ms MPRT is working just fine and I’m turning 180 in games like The Division 2 and Rainbow Six Siege and I’m just not seeing any smearing or ghosting. Maybe it’s my eyes but it looks fantastic to me and seems just as clear as my previous Asus VA32AQ 23″ IPS monitor. I was certainly a bit reluctant after reading MANY reviews about smearing and ghosting but some of them even came to the same determination that I did that I just can’t see it. It looks as good as any other non VA panel I’ve used in the last 10 years. I have a 34″ LG IPS I use for work and it looks very similar but the color and brightness isn’t as good and it cost $300 more than the Asus.UPDATE: I just updated my rig today to a new 8-Core i7 and RTX 3070 and I can now see smearing/ghosting in some areas. Not sure what was different from before the upgrades. It’s not a deal breaker but depending on the games you play it may not be the monitor for you. Any bright areas are totally unnoticeable still but dark lit rooms you notice if you turn really fast. Using the built in Overdrive was giving way too much corona effect after throttling it down most of my games look a lot better even CSGO.I’m sure you can probably get similar results from another VA panel that costs a bit less but this ticked all my boxes because I needed extra USB ports, and I needed all the cables to plug in bottom up not sideways into the back because my VESA mount on my desk wall is shallow so you can’t plug a cable in the way you’d do with a Samsung or LG panel. As far as quality over time or reliability I’m sure I’ll be able to give a better long term review later on but in terms of initial quality this monitor is great and I have no regrets about purchasing it.

Two monitors purchased for work setup

Monitor displays work great, picture is nice and easy to install the stand! The only minor downfall of that the two monitors have a slight difference in how they sit so one is a little shorter. Tried installing on stand and noticed this. Moved them to adjustable arms and still seeing this issue.

Awesome for Flight Simulator 2020 Premium Deluxe

I was using a pair of 19″ square LCD HD monitors, which were state of the art in 2010, and still worked well. This ASUS monitor, running at 3440 x 1440 from an MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Super graphics card is awesome. It is very bright and displays movement without ghosting and amazing in Flight Simulator.

    Colors? Oh yes.

Although bright, it’s very customizable. Go from any sort of brightness, to any setting, color changes, and 120 hz. This thing works great — it doesn’t even lag out my 4 year old laptop. Simple to put up, only around two cords, and it’s small. The picture quality is better than my eyesight, so I can’t even experience the whole thing in its glory.TL:DR: Want to expand your setup for a cheap price? Here you go.

    So Far Impressive…but

So far, i love the picture and brightness. The curved screen took only a few uses to get used to. The refresh rate is magical when moving windows and objects around with the mouse. The built in speakers are exactly what you would expect from a monitor. They are perfect for zoom calls or hearing the swoosh sound when you send an email, but for gaming, you will probably end up preferring external speakers. My only problem is the arm that hold the monitor came broken. The arm incorporates a cable management hinge that snaps closed, and the two snap tabs came already broken off inside thier hubs. This monitor was packaged quite well, so I’m not too nervous that it was dropped or hit, and the tabs are tiny and fragile to begin with. It isn’t critical to the use of the holder, but it kind of flops around and is annoying when you spend over 500 dollars on something. I am debating seeing if Asus will send a replacement part or just soak up the karmic energy by letting it go. All in all, I recommend this monitor.

This is a great monitor. At least to me, as this was a first swapping to a higher refresh rate than to budget ball a 60 hz monitor haha. I’ve played and tested many games. The picture quality is really smooth. I would even go as far as saying that it improves your gaming skill a little because of the lower latencies. So if you are like me going for a first time with a higher refresh rate monitor, or just somebody looking for a decent monitor, this is the one you should add to your cart.

Good monitor with a couple of flaws.

Purchased this monitor for my daughter for her new pc. The monitor seems to perform and have a lot of the expected features of a modern gaming monitor. It’s a competent IPS display with a 165hz refresh rate and support for AMD Freesync and Nvidia Gsync (although the monitor doesn’t seem to be validated on Nvidia’s list of Gsync compatible monitors). It offers smooth, stutter and tear free motion during the games I’ve played. For the price, it’s proven to be very capable. The colors appear very vibrant and, provides a host of presets and color options to get the ideal viewing experience. Nothing seemed too dark, dull or washed out or otherwise off during my usage.I will say that there does seem to be a pronounced amount of backlight bleed or IPS glow coming from this monitor. It’s not at all noticeable in normal lighting conditions, and only really stands out when the screen is all black during a game. The other blemish was that the monitor seems to have shipped with 2 dead pixels. I didn’t notice them at all until i did a screen test where i noticed these small specs that didn’t go away. I thought they were a part of my daughters wallpaper art.Screen quality aside, I’d say it’s a very capable monitor if you can get it on sale.UPDATE: I am happy to report that what looked like dead pixels may have actually been just stuck pixels. I conducted the screen test again, and the dark dots were no longer present! This does not change the Overall rating that I gave the monitor because it was still an obnoxious issue to deal with and took a few weeks to sort itself out.

    Worth the money

It’s a great monitor. The picture is fantastic with HDR on. You’re going to want to tweak it a bit using Nvidia control panel to get the contrast and digital vibrance correct, but once you get it to your liking you’re going to love it. I included a screenshot from the Quake 2 RTX FREE shareware on Steam, HDR on, tweaked to my preferences on a 4070 TI.Worth the money at full price, an absolute steal at any discount.

Good gaming monitor with some downsides but at an excellent price.

Purchased on: April 19, 2021 and reviewed as of January 17, 2023.I tend to look at Asus more favorably because of my good experience with the brand so I ended up buying this monitor after reading Rtings’ review on this model. (if you are interested in a very technical and more in depth review, I would suggest to look them up)The quality it offers for the price is great. I didn’t have any issues with dead pixels, packaging was great and it arrived in good condition, the color profile looks great and very accurate (although I don’t have the measuring tools to make this claim from a creative standpoint). The VESA mounting screw holes are well positioned in a way that you should be able to use any VESA plate. (this is important to consider as other models, like my other monitor, which has a square hole for the entire plate and it is a little to small to fit most VESA mounts despite having accurate screw holes)For general media consumption and gaming, this is an incredible monitor. In general, I would say I could never go back to using a standard widescreen for a PC. Ultrawide is a massive upgrade with the extra screen size. The resolution this monitor offers is great too as the text looks clean and it isn’t as resource taxing as a 4K monitor would be. I would say this monitor is a great entry point for anyone considering an ultrawide screen. Black uniformity looks good in my opinion despite the lack of any dimming zones.Another great feature that it has is the 4 USB hub right underneath (USB 3.2 type A). Although I wouldn’t use it for a keyboard and mouse if you are a serious gamer, it is very useful for other things such as charging your devices, plugging in an RGB strip so you can use it as a backlight, external storage or any other accessories or USB drives. (In addition to those, it has 2 Display ports, 2 HDMI 2.0 ports and a 3.5 headphone jack)On the other hand, there are a few things to keep in mind. You will not be able to use 10bit colors with the 165hz this monitor supports at the same time. If you go for 165hz, you will be limited to 8bit colors. However, if you are okay with 144hz, you can enable the full 10bit colors range.Another thing often criticized about this monitor is the slight smearing sometimes appearing in dark scenes where you might see the trails of a red/greenish pixels turning as a brighter object moves. This can be somewhat mitigated with overdrive settings. Unfortunately, this is more of a VA panel common issue than anything else and your best option if you really can’t stand it is to go for an IPS or OLED panel at much higher cost.Overall, I would say this is a good quality product and I would highly recommend it. I can’t speak much about the stand as I use a monitor arm and, I would suggest everyone to use one as well due to the flexibility and movement it offers on top of making your setup much cleaner.

    Go For Broke

Even in today’s day, this monitor is still a beast. If your not looking for an OLED monitor, this is probably the best alternative.Everything is very well done with this. Easy to configure and it comes with all the cables you’ll need to get up and running with your desired format (HDMI, DISPLAYPORT).Different color profiles to get you started and they can be further tweaked with the monitors controls.I got this as part of Prime Day and it was a steal. It puts my old monitor to shame. Ultra clear visuals. Supports up to 165hz refresh, which is ridiculous but the option is there.I cannot stress how much you will love this monitor. Worth every penny. If you plan on mounting this monitor to a stand (especially a tension arm of some sort) then make sure the mount can support up to 20lbs. This monitor required me to purchase a new stand (one up to 44lbs) because previous one could not hold the weight.

    Outstanding piece of technology.

Coming from an Acer 27″ FHD 75hz from almost 10 years old, this is a breathtaking change. Color, picture, smoothness, refresh rate, resolution are incredible in this monitor. The vertical stand is quite bulky and therefore it keeps the monitor in place without any issue. You can adjust height and tilt (vertical and horizontal). This is a must if you don’t want or can’t go for an OLED panel. I don’t have experience with the latest but it’ll take me years before I even think to change this monitor now!

Great upgrade from 3 monitors down to 2

This monitor is phenominal! I purchased this monitor to replace my 2 Asus 24″ monitors. My old monitors were 10 years old and still work extremely well, but felt it was time to replace them. I have a 27″ HP paired up with this monitor and together I have so much real-estate. I’m a software engineer and need as much space to organize my windows as I can get. The macbook I use this with from work only supports 2 monitors, so it’s nice to get some space back. The old Intel chips supported all 3 of my monitors. As for clarity, the monitor is crisp. The only thing I noticed that wasn’t as clear was a small logo in one of the apps I use for work. It’s maybe like 15×15 pixels, so not a big deal that the lines are not as sharp. It’s also not the best logo image anyways. For gaming, this monitor does great. I have not played a dark game yet, but when hearing about ghosting, I doubt there really is any. Rocket League looks amazing and so does Ultimate Chicken Horse. They say fast action games with dark backgrounds you’ll notice it, but again I highly doubt it. And if it is there, it must be so transparent that the only way to find it is through a magnifying glass. Don’t let those reviews deter you from this monitor. My only main gripes about this monitor are the buttons. Why the heck would you put them on the back? Totally not user friendly. Put them on the bottom where they are reachable. The macbook occasionally will not wake the monitor from sleep, so I need to power cycle the monitor or unplug and replug from mackbook. My windows machine has absolutely no problem, so it must be the macbook.Anyhow, out of the box, the settings are picture perfect. Still and moving images look great. I have not played with any of the menus and don’t think I’ll ever need to. No idea what options are available and probably never will.Lastly, I use both display ports to offer the best picture. I tried an HDMI cable, but macbook would only show 1080p. Could have just been a bad cable though.I will be sure to update this review if I find any cons over the life of this monitor. But as of right now, I’ve had it for 1 week.

    Great widescreen VA panel

Coming from a 24″ 60hz IPS display, this is a huge step up. The unit I received has very even lighting and no dead pixels.I had heard complaints about purple/green ghosting on this panel when the overdrive setting is turned up, but I can’t detect any ghosting regardless of what settings I use of what game I load up. I did have some flickering with freesync turned on, so I turned it off, but I was using old display drivers. I’ve since updated the drivers and turned it back on, and haven’t seen any flickering since then (we’ll see). Please note that the freesync issues reportedly seem to be more of an issue for those with NVIDIA graphics cards (I am using an AMD product).Aside from minor freesync issues, any negatives I can attribute to this display have mostly to do with the slightly different character of the image and colors as the result of the VA panel when compared to IPS. Personally, I use this screen in a dark-ish room, and am more sensitive to glare than most people, so the excessive brightness and backlight bleed from IPS panels bothers me a whole lot more than any of the quirks of VA panels (which again, are minimal here). This is ultimately a matter of taste regarding differences in display technology.I also hated the physical styling of all of the “gaming screens” that look like they were designed by kids. The styling on this monitor is VERY toned down, and you wouldn’t know it was marketed as a gaming display by looking at it. This was important to me.I was cross shopping this with the Gigabyte W34WQC (curved VA version), and the LG 34WP65C, both of which are cheaper, but reviews seem to indicate that these panels have more QC and image quality issues than this Asus.Once IPS local dimming and/or OLED become more ubiquitous, I may upgrade. However, that’s highly dependent on price, and I don’t feel like the immature implementations of these technologies are currently worth the price premium (~2x the cost). There’s nothing wrong with old tech as long as the implementation is good quality, as is the case with this display. This is a good quality VA widescreen display at a great price, if that’s what you’re after then this should be an easy decision. I am rating this 4/5 only because of the speakers, and freesync issues.

WOW!Upgraded from a 24” Asus flat monitor 60 Hz refresh rate (RR) to this 27” Asus curved beast with a dazzling 165 Hz RR.Not a big size difference, but the curvature of the deep black screen is a big plus with remarkably reduced glare from sunlight through facing windows. The huge 165 Hz RR (almost 3x the RR from 60 Hz) fits my 1080p (1920 x 1080 resolution) rig perfectly. My GPU is an RTX 3070 Ti.I play Diablo IV nearly every day. I can tell you that the 165 RR makes all the difference in the world! Objects are much more clear, colorful, and detailed — they “pop” from the screen like never before — it’s like a new game with this spectacular monitor!I’m a happy camper with this purchase. Plus it was on sale with a $40 savings. Did I say “Wow”?Setup was a breeze, and I’m in a wheelchair. The only “extra” I had to do was select the 165 Hz RR from the default 60 Hz.

Impressive Gaming Monitors for an Immersive Experience!

I upgraded my gaming setup by purchasing two ASUS TUF Gaming 23.8″ 1080P Monitors (VG249Q1R), and I am thrilled with the results! These monitors have proven to be exceptional replacements for my old ones, enhancing my gaming experience to a whole new level.First and foremost, the visual quality of these monitors is outstanding. The Full HD resolution and IPS panel deliver stunningly sharp and vibrant images, making every game come to life with rich colors and remarkable detail. The 165Hz refresh rate (supports 144Hz) ensures smooth and fluid motion, eliminating any blur or stuttering during fast-paced gaming sessions. The 1ms response time is a game-changer, providing instant and precise responsiveness to my actions. Whether engaging in intense battles or navigating through complex environments, the ASUS TUF Gaming monitors to keep up with my every move, allowing for quick and accurate reactions. The Extreme Low Motion Blur feature, further enhances the visual experience by reducing motion blur, resulting in crystal-clear and highly immersive gameplay. I can now enjoy fast-paced action without any distracting ghosting effects.I appreciate the inclusion of built-in speakers, as they provide decent audio quality for casual gaming and general multimedia use. While dedicated gaming headsets are still ideal for immersive sound, the speakers offer a convenient option for those quick gaming sessions. The FreeSync™ Premium technology is valuable, synchronizing the monitor’s refresh rate with the graphics card’s output, eliminating screen tearing and stuttering for a seamless visual experience.ASUS’s Shadow Boost technology deserves special mention, as it enhances the visibility of dark scenes without overexposing bright areas. This feature proves particularly useful in games where spotting enemies hiding in shadows can make all the difference.Mounting the monitors was a breeze, thanks to their VESA compatibility, allowing easy integration into my preferred setup.I highly recommend the ASUS TUF Gaming 23.8″ 1080P Monitors (VG249Q1R) to anyone seeking an exceptional gaming experience. These monitors combine stunning visuals, fast response times, immersive features like Extreme Low Motion Blur and Shadow Boost, and convenient connectivity options through DisplayPort and HDMI.

    Great monitor

First ultrawide. First impression is… Great monitor for the price (~$300). I use it for work and gaming, and works great for both. If you’re looking for a good ultrawide for around $300 look no further.

    Great for the price

I’m going to start this off by saying im a little bit of a ASUS fanboy. I have a ASUS notebook I’ve had since 2011. I’ve also had 3 phones from the Zenfone line( Zenfone2 laser, Zenfone 5, and Zenfone 8 flip) great phones with awesome value. The ASUS TUF 34inch 3440x1440p 165hz 1ms HDR monitor looks and performs amazingly. Being able to play games at higher refresh rates is such a better experience. 3440x1440p for me has been the best resolution for PC gaming. Super clear text and doesn’t hurt midrange GPUs out today. HDR content looks jaw-dropping. The monitor isn’t super bright but black levels hold up for the cost. With that be said ASUS I understand why but the speakers on this monitor are awful. A complete lack of bass I mean plugging in a set of speakers from the dollar store could be an upgrade.
