Not worth the premium price but great display

This display is my favorite ASUS display (I own several of their high end displays); however, it is almost no different than their non OLED which are cheaper. I have two of the other upper-end versions as my side monitors. I only notice a difference in the very dark blacks, and it is worse when I am reading text. I would not recommend buying this product over the others.Very dark blacks show on this monitor. But very dark blacks almost never exist in a practical setting. With the nature of an OLED display, the text has slight issues up close. And no HDMI 2.1 is interesting. It was definitely a waste of money for me, but I am happy wasting my money where I spend all my time. I could have just used one of my side monitors as my main one and have barely noticed any change. The only time I genuinely notice is when a pitch-black scene appears in a movie and rarely any video game.If you want the best (by a slight margin) and don’t care about wasting money, this is worth it. Otherwise, definitely don’t buy this.

    Amazing Monitor!

So, I’ve had this monitor for about 7 months now. This is probably the best OLED monitor I’ve ever had! Well, this is the only OLED monitor I’ve owned, haha. No burn it yet and everything works as it should. No flickering, no dying, updated the firmware was like normal. Everything works. I know I’ve seen some reviews on here that people have a lot of problems with it. I guess it just depends on what you get. I guess I got lucky because I haven’t had any problems yet.Update: Going on almost a year with this monitor and it has been amazing! I don’t get these reviews from others you must be doing something wrong or just a defective one you got.

Doesnt hurt my eyes like the new Alienware qd-oled

overall the monitor exceeded my expectations, I was very relieved to find out that it didn’t strain my eyes in the same way that the Alienware aw2725df did and instantly sealed the deal for me to keep the monitor and send the Alienware back.text clarity: is pretty decent, especially if you tweak windows cleartype or adjust the “vividpixel” settingcolors: are very good, but very much what i expected having owned a lg oled tv.brightness: this leaves a bit to be desired, but overall you realistically probably wouldn’t want the brightness to be much more than what it can get to now in sdri can’t really think of any real downsides to the device other than maybe not having an hdmi 2.1 port or a second displayport output.

One of the best monitors I’ve had

I love the picture and quality of the screen. Very easy to set up and pairs nice with any setup. One thing I find most satisfying about it is the screen lit up at night, doesn’t get any better than this

Amazing picture quality, fast response time.

Alot of fuss is made about text quality in windows. I’d probably not recommend this as a productivity monitor but as a gaming monitor it’s beautiful. Colors are vibrant, blacks are deep. Can’t recommend this monitor enough.

    Best Display

Awesome display ! The fringed text is a huge bummer but can be fixed with some tweaks with Mac type . Colors are top notch, came from another 1440p monitor and the clarity is insane it feels like my monitor is at a higher resolution because of the deep contrast would recommend.

    Only for dark room

Hdr is terrible and can’t bright enough for bright scenes also noticeable banding on skin tones. Gross!! Works great in Sdr but not for super bright rooms. Had problems with burn in but the pixel cleaning setting fixed it.

    Fantastic monitor for gaming

If you know what you are purchasing, this is a fantastic monitor. The colors are amazing (in SDR and HDR), the refresh rate is right in the sweet spot, and black levels are inky.A couple minor negatives:Text clarity. It’s not a deal breaker and you get used to it, but I’ve definitely had more pleasing text in other monitors. Also, this monitor (and all oled monitors) require some diligence to prevent burn in. I just make sure to turn off my monitor when not using it and to not keep static elements on it for long periods of time.

    Great picture quality

The picture quality and motion smoothness on this monitor is just amazing. I occasionally game for over 10 hours straight, and have zero burn in, so if that’s a worry you have, don’t worry. I will run the pixel cleaning feature once in a while just to be safe. Don’t listen to the bad reviews, and treat yourself to this thing. The only negative I have is text is a bit blurry, but not really that noticeable while reading text in games. If you use your monitor for work, I would not get an OLED.

    A chore to own

A lot of (all?) videogames flicker wildly during loading screens. Pretty weird, but I have to look away from my screen during loading screens.Every couple hours, it has a popup on screen that asks to shut down and do a 5 minute “pixel cleaning”. It’s a gaming monitor. I’m gaming. Get off my screen. It often dims to near black when in use. It’s like taking care of a small child.

    Excellent, but not quite perfect

Quality is great, don’t receive with any broken piece and don’t have any flaw on the panel. But this monitor is excellent only for gaming. The text clarity issue exists and noticeable at any place displaying text, file explorer, web browser, chat app, but this issue is not that obvious in games, so if you buy this monitor only for gaming, that is great, but don’t expect you would have the good experience in any office work.

    Awesome monitor

Thankfully I didn’t have any of the QC issues other people are reporting. The only issue I have is the monitor wants to “clean pixels” every few hours and I’m too smooth brain that I don’t know if that’s necessary or not so I do it. Outside of that the monitor blew me away. As soon as I’m able I’m getting another one.

    Great, but not perfect

Ideally would be a 3 1/2 star so far. High maintenance constantly pixel cleaning, but that’s what you expect with a LED. $1000 is a bit steep – my biggest gripe is it says GSync compatible, but it isn’t, and isn’t even listen on Nvidias website, unlike LG and Corsair’s. It means you have to run Vsync for smooth experience in games like Overwatch and CS:GO, yet losing frames. Also no warranty protection. Fix the GSync issue and maybe offer warranty and this would be a 4 1/2.

    An Everything Monitor

This monitor is honestly the best of every world. You get incredible motion clarity, colors, viewing angles and brightness. I really have nothing at all to complain about. Having a single monitor than I can use to play fast paced tac-fps games and as well as use to enjoy HDR games and movies is a great experience. There’s so much that I could get into but I will just say that I highly recommend this monitor if you can afford it. Lots of good analysis of this monitor online that go through all the gritty details if you are interested.

TRUE HDR NOT SUPPORTED ON PS5

So, for anyone wanting the 1440p OLED just know for console gaming it doesn’t support 2.1HDMI therefore, you will NOT get the true 10bit HDR. This HDR only works on PC as a display port gives u the true colors. If u want this monitor to look awesome on console, HDR must be turned off in the ps5 settings. Kinda sucks tbh

Currently best monitor in my life

The visual quality of this monitor is considerably superior to my previous IPS monitor. The colors are remarkably vivid and accurate, and the blacks are profound and saturated. It also features an exceptionally rapid refresh rate.Although it is not an inexpensive monitor, I believe it is worth every penny.

    Amazing OLED monitor

Bought the PG27AQDM as I wanted a 27” OLED to use with my PS5. It was either the Asus or the newly released LG 27GS95QE. Went with the Asus as I just like its appearance more. Spec wise it does everything I wanted it to do on the PS5. It does 1440p resolution @120hz with VRR and ALLM enabled. I mainly play shooters and it just feels so much faster than my previous IPS monitor the Dell S2721DGF. The image quality is amazing as it sometimes looks almost 3d. Vibrant colors and deep true blacks. Makes my game catalog seem new again. Really pleased with every aspect of this Asus panel.

Best Monitor I ever owned (When it worked)

Monitor was the best monitor I have ever owned until I noticed I had a faulty panel. Monitor lasted about three weeks and then it started to appear. Dead pixels and blotchy spots on the screen. ASUS claims that it is a faulty panel and they are currently “Fixing it”. I sent it back to ASUS with a RMA request almost a month ago and have not been updated on whether my monitor is fixed, being fixed, or if anything is going on. You would think when spending 700 plus on a product that you would expect it to work. Also, they do not do refunds so if you wanted to get your money back and try a different OLED monitor you are out of luck. Hopefully the RMA process goes quickly but with the way its looking I may not get my monitor back for a few weeks. Overall picture quality is fantastic and like I said one of the best monitors I have ever owned when it worked properly. Maybe I am just unlucky!

    Amazing

Remember when you first put on a pair of glasses and realized there was a whole world out there that you weren’t seeing clearly? Going from a decent 144hz TN adaptive refresh 1440p to this OLED was like that. Yes, the colors look nicer. Blacks are black and not gray. But all that detail is crystal clear while everything is moving when your playing an fps or racing game. LCD has been lying to us, reminds me of how good some old CRT monitors looked back in the day. If you have the money, you will not be disappointed.

    Well optimized Gaming WOLED

Make sure you click into hdr settings in windows, and turn up the sdr brightness slider all the way to the right. It seems to affect hdr brightness as well.Great monitor, great color and blacks. Gaming is a new experience now, tried God of war, dead space, and Starfield. All look beautiful.Text will appear a bit odd, because of the extra white subpixel. It’s a wrgb pixel layout the white helps add brightness.Keep in mind there will be a 4k 32in revision of this monitor with Samsung qd oled panel arriving sometime next year!Update: mcm105 firmware makes text look a lot better

    Great Gaming Monitor

I upgraded from a 5 year old MSI Gaming desktop with an Nvidia 1670 GPU that I got years of gaming fun out of, but it finally up and died on me. I got a newer MSI Aegis R2 Gaming Desktop – Intel Core i9 Processor 14900F – GeForce RTX 4070. I wanted an OLED monitor for it and after much research ended up getting the ASUS ROG Swift 27”1440P OLED DSC Gaming Monitor (PG27AQDM). The combination of a nice GPU and this OLED monitor makes for a luxurious gaming experience. I am mostly playing Diablo IV and Overwatch 2. The resolution and various effects are great and Diable is so much funner to play now that it isn’t laggy and and I these beautiful graphics. Very happy with my purchase — OLED is worth it.

The most beautiful gaming monitor I’ve ever owned.

This is quite simply a gorgeous monitor. The gaming picture quality is superb. I have it connected to a Dell gaming laptop and I’ve noticed no ghosting while gaming or tearing in the screen even with the refresh rate set to 240Hz. The colors are incredible and the blacks are solid black. When I saw an OLED gaming monitor in a review I knew I had to have one. I’m so glad I made this purchase. If I had to list any drawbacks it’s the text is a little more difficult to read than a standard LED monitor and it only comes with HDMI 2.0 ports. Other than that, it’s a superb monitor and I highly recommend it.

Do not buy an ASUS monitor!

This is the most expensive monitor I have every purchased by far. As such, I expected quality support, but I was sorely mistaken.I used the monitor for 5 months before it suddenly would not display anything but a black screen. I could not access the OSD or use the monitor whatsoever. I completed all the troubleshooting steps and determined that the monitor was faulty. The next part of my experience was nothing short of an infuriating and repetitive cycle of “customer support”. This monitor, unlike most, does not have a serial number attached to the device, only on the box can you find it. I threw away the box months ago assuming it was trash. There is literally no other way to get the serial number. Without the number, you cannot get a refund, send it in to be repaired, or have diagnostics done by ASUS.I have been trying to get this overpriced, underperforming, headache of a machine fixed for almost 2 weeks now and am in the exact same position that I was in 2 weeks ago after multiple phone calls.I will never by an ASUS monitor again and I strongly recommend you all do the same.

If you want true blacks this is the monitor

Got this on sale. I wanted something better than a IPS panel and I wanted my blacks to show real good. I’m no computer geek but this thing really shines. Colors are really nice. Always like the size of 27-in monitors. If you can afford it, get it well. Built quality made

    Best monitor I’ve ever owned.

This panel is pricy, although it’s recently been on sale for $160 less than what I paid for it (of course, right?).Some of the reviews are scary: blank screens, reboots, dead pixels, issues on an all-blue screen, etc…but I’ve had none of these problems. My panel has no dead pixels and works flawlessly. I’ve only had it for a few months, so I can’t comment on any long-term burn-in, but it does run the pixel cleaning routinely and I’ve had gaming sessions on it that have gone 6 hours or more several times, so far.It came already loaded with the latest firmware update.I use it mainly for gaming, and my room has blackout curtains, but even with the window open during the day, it’s more than bright enough for me.I noticed the difference from my LG 27″ IPS panel that I bought 2 years ago instantly. The black levels are amazing, the contrast is insane, and the picture quality overall is the best I’ve ever seen in a monitor. This is the first monitor I can actually run in HDR mode that LOOKS like real HDR.I know people also complain about text clarity, and while I don’t use this panel for anything work-related I have no issue with text. Its eye-candy every time I turn it on. Adds so much depth to my gaming…and response time is the usual legendary OLED almost-instant. Don’t regret buying it at all and highly recommend.

    High quality

No major complaints, the upgrade to an OLED makes fantastic image quality. Some minor downsides, the monitor base is a bit obtrusive and there have been a few times where I needed to run the pixel refresh a couple of times to fix some stuck pixels

    Gorgeous

Not much else to say; it’s gorgeous. I appreciate that there’s a built-in “brightness uniformity” mode that prevents weird dimming that standard OLED monitors have. I am having a small issue where 60fps games don’t quite feel as smooth as they should, but I think it’s because I’m forced to use an HDMI connection. DisplayPort would probably fix this. (I’ll update this in the future if I’m able to confirm this.)

    Monitor Died at Six Months

The OLED panel failed at approximately sixth months. Had to ship it from SC to ASUS in CA for warranty repair as there was not a service center closer than six hours away. ASUS did fix it under warranty but I had to pay for the shipping across the country. I believe it was $44. Things can fail and I get that but I shouldn’t be on the hook for shipping a thousand dollar monitor that was under warranty.
