Fantastic!!!!
Coming from the H9is I finally upgraded and these are my first wireless Xbox gaming headsets…. They connect flawlessly to my Xbox and my phone…. I love how they can power on the Xbox with the push of the button on the left can…. Can also switch between Bluetooth and Xbox with a press of this button…. On Bluetooth it sounds fantastic I can already tell after an hour out of the box it sounds crisper and cleaner than the h9s….. I love the custom eq on the app when in Xbox mode ( only complain I have is that max voloume on Xbox isn’t very loud it’s like 2/3s vs the BT max voloume is like 98 db, on Xbox it’s like 85db.(sounds great with dolby) Idk if there’s a setting idk about where my Xbox main volume is lowered idk but that’s my only complaint, the app has been improved for this model I’m assuming it hooks the same for the H10s …. Either way $132 for these refurbished ones that looked brand new was a steal!!!! Shout out to b&o love these cans . 😍 the app and features are much improved I love the way you can customize the touchpad layout and there is a game chat volume slider that you can switch uses for.

Bang and Olfsen classic experience
These headphones are my favorite. I’m an audio engineer who wanted some wireless headphones that had a ton of flexibility. Battery life is A+, has usb/aux ports just in case which is awesome and a step up from apple overear headphones, and having the usb transmitters is also a big plus. My only complaint is that the Dolby atmos feature only works with windows infrastructure, which was a huge draw for me to purchase these.

Day 1 great so far
The only reason I need headphones is because my significant other can’t stand listening to the game as loud as I like to play it. I have a very nice dolby atmos sound system that makes me feel like I’m in a war when I’m playing FPS games. However this is the very next best thing if I had to choose a headset. Hands on first time you can tell that these are premium. I got lucky and scored them during holiday sales and got them for 299 but I was willing to spend the 499 if need be. Usually I don’t like having to download an app on my phone but in this case the B&O app was very useful at tweaking the settings needed for these headphones. They paired almost instantly with my iphone. I use them mostly for gaming on the PS5 and day 1 I think they were a great purchase, they take advantage of dolby atmos for headphones, the playstations 3D audio. Its really easy to set up, just plug the usb c into the usb a dongle that is included and plug that into the back of the playstation. If the headset is connected to the dongle then you should be good to go. I went to the sound settings of the ps5 and the ps5 already recognized the headset. If you don’t hear sound just restart your playstation and you should be good to go. You may need to tweak the sound setting for “all audio” to go to headphones on the playstation, just an FYI.

WORTH THE $$$$$
So these are AMAZING headphones in Bluetooth or in gaming mode..they have a very cool look and have amazing sound and ANC and are extremely comfortable on ear/head…the only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is just a couple reasons one being you get no type of carrying bag or case for $500 not anything the do sell one but it’s 60$ I personally thing for $500 I should get something to protect that $500 investment besides thati wish the extenders to make the size to fit on head we’re a little big longer maybe 4-6” more for people with larger heads like me other than that more color options would be nice I wish there were a red version available but what can you do…non the less they are amazing you are getting what you pay for if it’s just music, just gaming or both..I wish I could put a 4.5 star since my only real gripe getting any kind of case as all even if it’s something cheaper just to store them until you can buy the $60 bag they sell..anyways with all that said I highly recommend for whatever reason you are looking at them for 4.5 stars from me.P.S Customer service on the phone are EXTREMELY nice and very helpful so another plus to whoever purchases.

Updated: functioning as they should now.
Update: after updating the firmware these have finally come into their own. The Dolby Atmos experience is pretty solid. Originally they would not turn off and required constant pairing to the Xbox. Since the download and update to the firmware, they automatically connect to the Xbox and the on off switch is finally functioning as it should. Previously I would have to let them just die. Still not a fan of the touch based controls. Physical buttons would be better.

Great for the price I got them at. (Around 200)
The headset is great for the price it’s at now, under 220. Great sound quality and one of the best battery up time I’ve seen on any headset I’ve purchased. I can easily get a day and a half of heavy use before having to plug it in. Even plugged in for charging, it works fine (had some other brand headsets that wouldn’t work while charging) and the location of the charging port doesn’t make it uncomfortable or awkward to wear while you use it plugged in. There is noise cancellation but if that’s some selling point for you, then you should probably pass, as it’s just not that strong. Since that doesn’t matter much to me, it’s been a great headset for games, videos, and music.

Me gustaron los audífonos y más sabiendo que son la segunda versión que te vienen con su guarpolvo aunque recomendaría un estuche por separado ya que suelen ensuciarse fácilmente y agarrar mucho el polvo

The Good, the bad, the pretty, the amazing – honest review from experienced headset owner
FIRST THE GOOD:- Sound quality is amazing.- The ability to listen to a bluetooth source AND your gaming PC sound mixed together at the same time is amazing.- Battery life is pretty decent.- Noise cancellation is quite good.- The product looks very pretty in my opinion.- Wearing comfort is only so-so – it’s not terrible, it’s not great, it’s good enough I would say, but not amazing.- I have the playstation version, the dongle works just fine in my gaming PC, and the dolby atmos software installed and works.NOW FOR THE BAD- I am NOT impressed by the bluetooth range. The playstation dongle’s range I have not tested extensively but it seems to work well enough for living room gaming and doesn’t seem to get affected by disconnects and interference problems (xbox version of the headset might have a different experience).- I don’t love the touch controls, and the software seems to limit your ability to change the control gestures and what they map to – most of it appears to be locked.- Honestly I am not a fan of touch controls, and even though it is supposed to take a double tap to pause/play, I sometimes have my listening paused when I adjust my headset or accidently touch it.I managed to buy these at a good price, so I am not sad, it is my first B&O pair, but I own about 8 headsets in total.

Better than expected
Bought Used – Like New and it came unopened with the original plastic wrap on it. Works way better than expected. About 15 hours of battery time so far. Awesome noise cancelation. Works while charging. Works on my pc and ps5. Friends say the mic sounds fine, though I sound like I’m in an empty room. Build quality is high and the weight of the headset is low. Sounds great while watching shows, gaming, and listening to music. Nice bass. I’m not sure if these are worth $500 but getting them for $130 was well worth it. They are better than my old JBL 600s that I had for 4 years but not 5 times the cost better.

Better than HX at PC gaming, and $299 is a good deal in Black Friday
I considered the price is very important. Even it’s B&O, a $499 gaming headphone is not accetable. So I waited till black Friday and bought it with $299 within 5 days shipped to Taiwan. So I would compared with the experience from B&O HX.The material from HX is Aluminum and leather, beoplay portal seems using plastic and nylon. I can sense HX is much better, but for gaming I don’t need much like that, so I think both do ok. I then use HX in my office. When playing PC games and watch youtube videos, I do think the volume control is crucial. HX you need to use your finger and touch the Al earpad with a circle manner, which is really hard for me and you should definitely try it in store, the learning process is painful and you should not try it; Portal doing great cuz it only need your finger slide up or down at the edge of right earpad—This is very intuitively…Controlling the ANC: HX use one button for ANC/no ANC; Portal use left edge slide up/down for eitherNo ANC/ANC. Besides you can change the percentage how much ANC you want, it’s not all or nothing—I think that is very good job also. For synnergy with PC. HX seems had not much function well with PC, it’s bluetooth linked my desktop but there’s alway buzzy noise happend, I also bought the bluetooth adaptor to improve it, but it didn’t. But it doing well with my dell laptop at office, if you using gaming laptop you may consider HX, but checked portal out: I’m very surprised that B&O provided the typeC-USB-adaptor in inner box, I’m very happy because in previous experience HX buzzy noise is not improved by adaptor and I try to buy a XBOX WIN10 adaptor this time, it seems no need this time! And no need to pay for adaptor is great. It can unlock the dolby sound effect in MS store, the synnergy is well and I don’t even key in any serial key or something.I then went into some problem that my microphone is mute and no way to turn it up, I eventually found it could be unmute in B&O iphone app. Both HX and portal loos great. HX ox red looks like an artwork; Portal doesn’t look like artwork, and it’s low key as a gaming headphone— it does not have those shimmering LED lights but it looks with a special style (is it scandinavia design looking?), anyway I prefer this kind of design. Both two are good for me.Something also surprised me is Portal also provide a bag that can carry the portal earphone, even the material is not that special, but it has a B&O logo on it. That looks nice.I think not many guys have also HX and Portal , so I compared them together and you can choose by your own. If both price are around 500USD, i will definitely choose portal.

100% Would Recommend!
If you have the money, these are great headphones for gaming. The included USB-C dongle is plug-and-play with PS5 and supports 3D audio.- Sound is great, with a 5-band EQ in the app if you want to adjust it. There are some preloaded EQ profiles, which can all be tweaked or you can create your own from scratch.- Very solid connection through the dongle. Very rarely (maybe once a week and I game every day for multiple hours), a loud buzzing sound starts coming through. When this happens, I just turn off the headphones and then turn them back on and everything is fine. There is also dual Bluetooth connectivity, so you can be connected to your phone/tablet/laptop at the same time if you so choose.- I rated the noise cancellation only four stars because it’s good but not as great as some other headphones I have. However, I didn’t buy these for stellar noise cancelling; I just need enough to block out sounds while I’m in the game. I can say the same for the transparency mode: it’s good but not as good as some others. I usually use transparency mode the most so I can still have a conversation with my family members.- There is a touch slider on the back of each ear cup. On the right side, the slider controls volume, and the left side controls noise cancelling/transparency and chat/own voice modes. The sliders are easy to control and very responsive. Personally, I prefer buttons for controls, but the sliders work just fine.- Battery life is impressive! I game for multiple hours every day and I just charge them when I’m done for the day. I’ve had them last up to 16 hours on a single charge.- Very comfortable, large ear cups, minimal side pressure. Unless you have gigantic ears, you should find these very roomy. I don’t like the inner ear cup to touch my ear and these have plenty of depth.Overall, I would highly recommend these headphones for any PS5 gamer who wants great sound quality, noise cancellation and comfort. I actually have two pairs, so I’ll always have a backup just in case.Note: These are my second pair and when I received them, they did not sound like my originals, which I’d had for about ten months. I tried adjusting the EQ and updating the firmware, but they just sounded “muddy” and occasionally had a metallic popping sound in the left ear cup. I exchanged them for another pair, and the new ones sound perfect, just like my originals. So if they don’t sound right to you, please try exchanging for a new pair before giving up on them; seems like some of them just have issues sometimes.Happy listening and happy gaming!

Overall – good
I never in a million years would have considered this at its original MSRP of FIVE HUNDRED dollars. Because at the end of the day, $400 Bose headphone have better noise cancellation, the normal $100 or so wireless headphones from Microsoft have comparable sound quality and connectivity. However, at $200 I can very easily make a good case for getting these headphones.Pros:-Very nice bass response (if that’s what you like)-super nice/intuitive companion app-adjustability of Eq setting within app even when connected to Xbox-comes with a Dolby atmos license so you don’t have to purchase it through Microsoft. (It will automatically work in the Dolby app)-premium materials/excellent quality-clean look with no weird micCons-no case. For something with an original msrp of $500 I would be livid to find bare headphones in a box from a company like this.-ANC not nearly as good as it should be considering targeted audience. It somewhat drowns out noises in your environment but only by about 40% where most others can drown them out by about 80% (in a smaller package too(AirPod pros))-no way to simultaneously use Xbox wireless connectivity and phone’s Bluetooth to mix audio(others are capable of this)-no true black color option (these are dark grey. They don’t look bad. But black would’ve matched with everything else very nicely)Overall these are good headphones that I would recommend given it’s features but ONLY at $200 or less. It’s lacking in some crucial areas like ANC and there may be a possibility that your voice isn’t transmitted nearly as well as you’d like to others given its lack of a boom mic. If your voice is normally loud though these probably won’t be a problem. And you can adjust the mic settings through the Xbox as well if you have a problem. I’d say buy these if you want ANC and a nice premium headset that can be used as your personal headphones as well. It does a really good job of being dual purpose and given your lack of options with wireless ANC headphones for the Xbox these are probably the best option out there.TL;DR : buy these if you want good wireless headphones with active noise cancelation for the Xbox. There’s not that many options.

Good For Everything, Just Not Perfect Anything
The biggest compliment I can give this headset is that it legitimately gives me no problems using it. Function-wise, it checks almost every box I need it to and does so in a seamless, painless manner. Quick connection to devices, dedicated connection buttons for Bluetooth and the Dongle, works on all my consoles* and PC and Switch in handheld mode, 3.5 mm connection, it does it all and it does it in a relatively comfy, luxury package. I don’t have any of the software or connection issues with other famous headsets like the Audeze Penrose X or MG20. The fact I can quickly just grab my phone after a gaming session and go straight to school across town without taking them off is seriously impressive. Going with a USB C dongle also expands its connectivity exponentially, letting me use it with my Steam Deck and iPad Pro no problem. That being said, there are a dozen and a half small issues I could leverage at it. While I can technically use it with all my consoles, an Xbox connection requires using the 3.5 mm cable through the controller that doesn’t allow for audio mixing with Bluetooth or the dongle. While I do leverage most of this criticism at the proprietary security Xbox has implemented when it comes to accessories, the fact is the Xbox Beoplay Portal has the wireless connection, and for the price point this should just be included and replace the old model. Also, like the header says, this is good for everything, but it isn’t perfect for anything. You’re not getting the sound quality of the Audeze Penrose X, you’re not getting the mic of the Corsair Virtuoso, you’re not getting the level of noise cancelling of the Sony Inzone H9’s/XM5’s, you’re not getting the full gaming software or ecosystem of Razer or Steelseries or Asus, etc. This is billing itself as a functional all-in-one, and it’s up to you to decide if you’re comfortable with the trade-offs of this current set. I also wish that the app let me remap more of the touch/tap controls, because I think it absolutely could give me a full suite of media controls with its current setup.Ultimately, I recommend this to someone who’s looking for a luxury headset that can do it all at a very good level. It’s not going to excel at any of those things, but this is the closest I’ve come to an all-in-one I can happily recommend.

I went out of my way to write this
So at first I was skeptical of these. But I saw they were severely discounted so took a gamble. I will say the microphone quality isn’t the best HOWEVER if you’re one of those people who use a microphone these are great. First off, the software is non-existent it’s pretty much plug and play. Comes with USB a to USB C adapter for the dongle. Straight up bluetooth I don’t recommend for PC. The audio quality on these is really good especially for a company that has no/limited gaming headset experience. But my favorite part about these is I can use them for personal use on my cell phone and gaming use on my PC and they look cool and not ridiculous like some gaming headsets do when u wear them in public. This headset also allows phone playback while gaming so let’s say I’m scrolling thru tik Tok in between rounds or waiting for one of my friends to get in the lobby. I don’t have to do anything extra. It’s nice. I was surprised that this headset didn’t come with a carrying case but I found a cheap one online for under $25. When I was originally looking I know that a lot of the good high quality gaming headsets can be $200+ and have a microphone that’s mid anyways. At least don’t pretend to have the best microphone and for $200 if you already use a microphone on your PC these are really good. I can hear all the footsteps, battery life lasts a long time but the most important thing is comfort. I have big ears and these are cozy to wear for 4-5 hrs no problem. Summary: look and comfort of traditional over the ear phones but dongle connectivity allows for gaming experience. Instead of buying $200 headphones for your phone and a $200 headset for your PC buy these with a $60 microphone and you’re golden

Best headphones I’ve ever used
Let’s start with how light weight these puppies are. I’ve had so many over the ear headphones over the years and every single one of them always has this extra weight that is noticeable when you put them on. Of course the reasons for this are understandable but when you put THESE on? It’s almost like wearing a pair of air pods or skull candies.I had some concerns with the shape of the ear cups being circular vs more oblong like the shape of your ears but for me? They are super comfy. The seal the create is also perfect which matters when it comes to the ANC (active noise cancellation). The material quality is also pristine. No cheap plastics in important or high use places like some other headphones and headsets which means these were built with longevity in mind; big plus for me because I’m cheap and I HATE spending money on things that break or wear out too quickly. The sound quality is great! I did have to go on the app to get the loudness and depth I was personally looking for and, being a musician, my ear drums probably need a little more banging than the average person but I was able to adjust them perfectly and am super pleased with the end result. I like the app too because it has a very intuitive feel and makes it easy to adjust anything I want super conveniently and quickly. My favorite part about these? NO DONGLE! Too many times I’ve had a dongle break or just stop working and it completely ruins all the features you can enjoy with your headset because now you out can only plug them in to your controller or other device and at that point what’s the point of having wireless headphones with Touch Bar adjusters, ANC, etc.? No dongle means one less headache for me.I would say overall these are the best headphones/headset I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning and HIGHLY recommend them for any next gen owner. One side note: I originally didn’t get these because on the Xbox store they are still selling them for $400+! But I got these here for $200 and for that price!? Best in class and market, hands down.

Learned to love ’em
Really fancied these early on. They went on sale and I scooped ’em up. Initially didn’t really care for the functionality at first (tap the side of the ear cup for functions, no buttons, easy to accidentally “tap”). Also didn’t care for the app, kept getting prompted to validate the headphones with the app, and spammed to update even though I’d just updated. Another big bummer for me was, these things sound pretty good but when I really felt like cranking up the volume via line in cable, the audio distorts really bad at levels that are lower than the max wireless volume… weird. When I got passed the not-so-great parts about this headset I learned about the really good parts. This thing connects via wireless dongle and/or bluetooth. So when I say and/or, I mean it can do both at the same time! Need to run discord on your phone and hear game sounds on your PC at the same time? This thing can do it. Pretty neat! So if you need a versatile headset with a solid build, good sound and mic quality, very good battery life, and great noise cancelling these might be what you’re looking for.

Great purchase if you have money to spare
It’s expensive and quite frankly if it was 400, I would be completely satisfied. Being that this cost as much as an Xbox, it’s tough to feel that great about the purchase being a value shopper. However, I love it! I came from beats headphones, and everything from comfort and sound is much better. I’m more of a hip hop listener and when I turn up the bass on the headphone, it still sounds clear and clean. Also using this for my Xbox and gaming, it’s great for first person shooters. The design of it and how it doesn’t look like a gaming headset is what made this a purchase for me, where I could have one headphone to do both gaming and music. If you could wait, wait until it goes on sale, if money isn’t an issue, you’ll like it.Oh I tried it on the plane, the active noise cancellation is great, it doesn’t cover all the outside noise completely, but it definitely lowers the disruption and with the comfort, I really enjoyed it.

Not the best for ANC
Although they have great sound, the ANC is almost non existent, the battery life is incredible for listening to music, but it didn’t want to connect to my Nintendo switch by Bluetooth at all, any other device was fine

Best And most expensive headset I ever bought!
I got tired of buying just barely ok quality gaming headsets for my pc and wanted something that actually sounded studio quality and not just for games but for music and movies. Although it cost quite a bit I haven’t looked back since cause when I bought things like Razer and Steelseries it doesn’t compare to this in overall audio quality. Worked great for what I needed it for especially when it comes to music never had such clean audio and I use my Mv7 shure mic in combination and it just feels like I have a truly professional setup for once. It even works great off of my cell with the Bluetooth capability and you can choose either to be wired or go wireless with it, nice to have that type of freedom in a headset.

Great set but could be better.
Got them at a good discount for $300 compared to it’s original retail price of $500. At $500, they are definitely not worth it. But for $300 I’d say they’re worth it. They sound very good for music and movies. Not overly punchy bass (can be a little underwhelming for some) tolerable mids and very clean highs. They sound crystal clear and clean with decent soundstage.I got the Xbox version and connecting it to the Xbox is sometimes as easy as it gets and other times it can take several minutes to get it to pair which can be incredibly frustrating. Once connected they work good for the most part but occasionally they’ll cut off intermittently especially when using these to watch movies via the Xbox. For gaming, they’re much more stable. The sound quality for games definitely depends on which game you’re playing. For Call of Duty: MW2 (2022) they don’t sound all that good but for Forza Horizon 5 they sound incredibly amazing. The Dolby Atmos works pretty well and has helped me from getting killed in games. I do wish the sound was more punchier for action games and the 3D audio was more immersive. The mic works incredibly well. My friends can hear me crystal clear when I chat with them via these headphones. All in all, if you can get these at a massive discount, I’d say go for it. If not then I’d definitely recommend you wait for a discount to appear for these headphones.

Perfect in every way PC/PS Portal
Let’s talk gaming headphones/ headsets & features. I have tried everything from the official PlayStation 4 & 5 headset, steel series 7, Arctis pro, turtle beach 600, 700, audeze Penrose/ Maxwell, & the VZR model one. I always find myself coming back to the B&O Portal headphones for comfort, reliability, position awareness, weight, ANC, & sound. The Portal has over 24hrs of battery when using for gaming & over 48hrs when listening to music or watching movies on the go. I’ve always been able to rely on it simply working. Any firmware updates that it needs it receives wirelessly through your phone & yes phone calls & media still work while playing. I recommend anyone that buys these headphones to just put them on without playing or listening to anything for hours & feel how comfortable they feel. The comfort gets nicer & softer over time. I’ve purchased two pairs for the days when they ever stop selling, I’ll have another backup pair. The clarity of the mic is great & audio is detailed & not overwhelming in the mids, highs, or lows… simply put, it sounds the way it’s actually meant to sound, none of that over bass BS. B&O are on top of their craft & it shows with this headset/ headphones. The Xbox players should pass on these as the iteration for Xbox users didn’t come with the hardware fixes in most old reviews (better battery, etc.). These are for gamers/ audio enthusiast with taste in great audio, style, comfort, & that try to ditch the whole RGB look. These are for adults for whom like to display their hobby with class.

Amazing Yestertech at an amazing price
They feel last gen, but who cares, the details jump out on p.c. games. These rival the Sony WF1000XM4 buds I use at work. The only thing I dont like is the slider instead of button for volume, but I’m okay with that. They are also nice and light. They pair to multiple devices and are not fussy to set up.

A real review
Out of the box – these are high quality! The materials and comfort are amazing. Premium headphones. Here is the most important information:1) for Xbox: the EQ is flat out of the box. Very underwhelming2) For Bluetooth and everyday use, even traveling in cars/airplanes: amazing! It’s like a completely different soundstage/audio quality! These are way better functionally as Bluetooth and wireless headphones. Sure, they work with Xbox but they blew me away with the difference in functionality and quality. If you can get these for under $150…do it! Stylish and design is great. These are just as good as AirPods Max – listen to lossless audio on Apple Music or high audio quality on Spotify. Thank me later.

High Expectations, Low Sound Quality !!! A Disappointing Experience
I’ve been a long-time fan of Bang & Olufsen, so it was with great anticipation that I purchased the Beoplay Portal Gaming Headset. Unfortunately, this product has been a letdown in several key areas.Firstly, the sound quality, a feature that Bang & Olufsen is usually renowned for, was surprisingly flat. The audio lacked the depth and richness I’ve come to expect from B&O products. The bass was not underwhelming, and the overall sound felt hollow, which was a significant drawback for immersive gaming experiences.Secondly, the price point of this headset is excessively high. While I’m accustomed to paying a premium for B&O products, the cost of the Beoplay Portal Gaming Headset seems unjustified given its performance. There are other gaming headsets on the market that offer superior sound quality at a fraction of the price.Lastly, the design of the headset was a disappointment. Compared to other B&O products, the Beoplay Portal Gaming Headset lacks the sleek, sophisticated aesthetic that the brand is known for. The design feels clunky and unattractive, which is surprising for a brand that typically excels in this area.In conclusion, the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal Gaming Headset was a disappointment. The flat sound quality, high price, and unappealing design make it hard to recommend this product, especially when there are other, better-performing headsets available at a lower price point. I hope B&O takes this feedback into account and improves these aspects in future iterations of their gaming headsets.

Sound quality!
Paired with iphone, audio excellence. Spatial audio. When one cannot press the button to forward the song (skip) to the next one, that means audio perfection. Wondering how much better will be the H95.

Worst headset ever
A month after I bought these for 400$ I had problems with the microphones. I called support and sent them in for repair. It has been over two months now and still no word on when they will even be looked at. I have email chains 30 emails deep with sorry this and sorry that it will be another 7-10 days before we can look at them. I started searching around discord and Reddit to find others are having issues with all their products and getting them repaired. In some cases people were getting broken replacements and having to go through the hellish process all over again.I used mine for work and some gaming. They are good headphones but not worth the hassle and frustration I am going through now. They were great because it’s one button to hook up to the Xbox and can connect to the phone or pc through Bluetooth. They sounded good but not 400$ good. They easy hooked to a controller on PS5 with a 3.5mm jack but the quality was just not there. If you are looking for a higher end set of headphones do some research and buy an open back set, get a DAC and a modmic you will be so much happier than the frustration that comes with talking to customers service for months with no end in sight.TLDR – save your time and money and buy a better product.

Good headphones for ~$200, excellent seller (Bilsonic)
Bought a Navy PC variant from Bilsonic at $188.Seller: At first the shipping (due to USPS) was annoying, but the seller spent time well with me during the process (and even shipped out a replacement pair for me).Box had some defects due to shipping, but the headphones are flawlessly new (smell, appearance, etc), boxed with plastic packaging just like any new products you can expect.Headphones: excellent build quality as expected from B&O. The app is not that good but you can totally get things done if spend some time (equalizer and stuff). ANC and sound quality is decent – of course not as good as Sony with their mindblowing ANC technology and LDAC codec (I tried both XM4 and XM5) vs just aptX Adaptive on this Portal. However if you are just casual, Portal is worth the $200 price tag. Really depends on your preference though.Overall good (really good) seller, and good product. I’d really recommend Bilsonic. Fast shipping, fast support, overall cannot be any better.

Good…. Not Great
I just purchased these to replace a set of kraken wired headphones. For music alone I would give 4.5. for comfort a strong 5. And that’s why I will keep them. For gaming a 3. Explosion etc are muddy and the Bluetooth/dongle set up is a nightmare. And the app sucks. They look really good. And the main reason I bought them was for comfort and to be light weight. For this they out wiegh that bad. I just a purchased set of Master and dynamic mw75s for just music. I almost purchased a 1500 dollar set of focals just couldn’t get myself to hit the buy button. But the b&os are not bad really. I am just super picky. For the price they sound really good. And the mic is clear etc. The noise cancelling by the way is about a 3.75 I mean they are not Sony or Bose those folks really know how to do noise cancelling. But these definitely sound better. Any hoo enough rambling.

Amazing quality when connected.
I had the headset for bought a month. During that time I had major connection problems with my devices. The audio was breathtaking. I am giving 4 stars because the product I got was defective and honestly if the mic was better, and it could connect to 2 devices at a time, it would be a 5-star product. 1 other problem I noticed is if I tried to connect to my tablet I would have to forget the device and then re-add it for the connection to begin. Overall amazing audio quality, subpar microphone and connection issues.

Solid Headset However minor disappointment in features
Solid Headset amazing sound quality however I would like to be in control of the ability to simultaneously utilize my BT and play the game. Not the company adding in software that prevents that due “undisturbed gaming experience”. If that’s the case let me be the judge of that inconvenience. I may want to use apps on the phone to vc with individuals while gaming or even watch videos etcs. I shouldn’t hav to do an entire switch via phone app or even shutoff my console to enable BT audio. If that doesn’t bother you like it bothered me I definitely recommend this headset for gaming and outside gaming BT audio experiences.

Amazing sound and very comfortable for my big ears 👂
Love these headphones. B&O makes amazing products. These are made in China I believe. I have a music system from them that is made in Denmark. It’s 20 years old and works flawlessly. It’s a true piece of art. I hope these headphones last a long time too.

Gaming & More
Awesome headphones works well on PC wish they had a software though, the Dolby Atmos feature is the clear winner here compared to any other headset in the market. Amazing in gaming & also even better on the Iphone Bang & Olfsun app. Noise canellation, wireless… can go on & on why these are good. These are possibly the best headphones i’ve owned.

Great 👍 purchase
I am really enjoying these headphones. Sound quality is great and no issues setting up to playstation. Bluetooth works well with TV and cellphone. Build quality is excellent and very comfortable. If your into gaming and love music and watching movies, this is a must buy. I’ve used the Xbox and playstation headphones. There nice but this takes it to another level.

Better than Astro A50
I only use this headset for gaming and movies, so they are perfect for me. The sound quality is excellent. I’m hearing things in game like never before. The App is super user friendly. My buddy said the mic wasn’t any better than the A50’s but now he’s bought a pair of these and the mic sound on both ends are superior. The only drawback is the volume doesn’t get really loud for gaming. I don’t run it on max volume but did notice the max is not over the top loud. The volume and chat adjusters are super easy and work great. You can also use the app for all adjustments. Super easy set up to pair with Xbox and phone. Very light and comfortable. Not as good as Bose for noise cancellation, but didn’t buy these for that purpose. Very pleased. If you’re looking for a high end gaming headset, these are at the top of the list.

PC/PS version exactly what I hoped for
I ordered the PC/PS version which might be important as I suspect it is a more refined product, having been released a year or so later. Thought I’d write a review because all seemed focused on xbox and some of the common complaints don’t apply.I was looking for headphones to us in PC VR gaming and had several requirements: (1) Low latency 2.4 ghz wireless PC connection; (2) Noise cancellation including good transparency effect; (3) Good sound quality; and (4) a decent mic. These fit all my requirements where no other headset out there did. These are not perfect, but they are perfect for my use case – so 5 stars relative to what I wanted.Pros:- Very well made. Feel very high quality/premium.- My wife thinks they look good. I like the silver/grey color.- I have owned plenty of headphones but don’t claim audiophile expertise. My reference point for sound quality is the Bose 700 headset I have been using (wired to my quest 2 headset). Different sound signatures, but these are at least as good and better as it pertains specifically to gaming.- ANC is good enough to be worthwhile and useful. Not as effective as my Bose 700 or my Bose QC Earbuds, but different use case really. Where I take my Bose with me outside, these I use only inside. ANC is more than sufficient to block out the annoying fans on our AC/heating units while at home. Not sure it would work on the subway or NYC streets.- Transparency mode is good. This is important to me as I like to be able to keep on and hold a conversation. Feels natural and close enough to my Bose, which are very good. This is the first time a non-bose ANC transparency mode has worked well for me…….have jabra headphones and Samsung buds where transparency feels very artificial.- Wireless connection to PC dongle has been rock solid. No issues as all on this version where some other reviews noted issues for the Xbox version.- The setup is pretty easy. You do need to use the phone app, but it worked well for me. Computer could be viewed as plug and play, but worth installing the Dolby access software. If you want to make changes to sound profile on PC without your phone, you need the Dolby software.- The mic works pretty well even without a boom arm. It’s certainly good enough for gaming purposes, and generally better than I expected. I would at least say that the quality is good enough that I would have no interest in a headset with a boom arm even if there were some mic quality benefits.- Mic background noise suppression surprisingly good. I have been using RTX voice to accomplish this anyway, but that is now arguably superfluous.- Handles dual wireless connections really well.- Comfortable to wear.Cons:- If you are looking for the best ANC out there, turn to Bose or Sony. The ANC feature is helpful on these and I am definitely glad to have it, but it’s definitely not the best out there. I think they have leaned toward subtlety, which is the right move – limited effectiveness but it is never irritating or in the way. My Samsung Galaxy buds ANC can be really distracting, you notice it both when with ANC on and when using transparency mode.- The controls are pretty good but not necessarily intuitive out of the gate. For instance some buttons change depending on what wireless connections you have. Ultimately this benefits utility, but can be confusing upfront.- Transparency mode works differently with mic on vs mic off. It sorta intermixes ANC with sidetone functionality which is confusing. Not a big deal, but I would prefer these be separate functions.- I wish headphone makers would focus on making them less wide. I don’t operate in the apple ecosystem, but airpods max look great with lower profile. These are pretty wide which hurts the aesthetics in my view (maybe cause my head more oval than round), though not much worse than Bose 700 in this regard. Of course I am also using them at home when wearing a VR headset……I already look ridiculous so no consequence to me for how I use. Also as noted above, my wife actually likes the way these look, so taste may vary.- Some of the on headset controls would benefit from voice notification rather than beeps. Sometimes hard to tell if I landed on the right setting. Bose 700 has this and it really helps.

Updated: my favorite
Updated review:Originally I wrote a very negative review because my initial experience was very frustrating. But I’ve been alternating between these B&O and my Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2 (2nd gen px7). I have also had theSony WH-1000XM5, and previously the Bose 700.And I have to say I enjoy the B&O the most. So I’m comparing against those three. The B&O sound the “best”. That is, I enjoy music the most on them. I don’t know if it’s because the of how much you can find tune the sound in the app. It has a nice intuitive circular slider adjust sound and save presets. It’s the first time I’ve ever actually enabled and used an equalizer and found it did anything positive. The app is fantastic imo. Compared to the others. When I bought the beoplay portal 6 months ago, the app was a little buggy. And I thought it was ridiculous headphone manufacturers are doing apps at all. But I get it now. And the B&O is the only one that has a decent app. Effective layout without ads or upsells, and useful features. They fit great. The perfectly round ear cups are all odd at first, but it works. Not sure if big eared people would have issues since headphones are usually more elongated. My ears pretty average size.It was kind of annoying they did not come with a case though. But since I alternate between my desk and Xbox, I haven’t had a need. Kind of regret spending money on a third-party case.XBOX. One of the big draws for me was to the idea I could easily go back and forth between my desk and Xbox at a touch of a button. It was kind of a pain to get both my phone and Xbox paired. Pro-top, don’t use the app. Just enable pairing on Xbox, power on your headphones, and press the Xbox button (very happy they have a dedicated button). So when I’m going to play Xbox, I just turn on headphones, and press the Xbox button on them. It turns on the Xbox which then turns everything else on. Fantastic. The quality has some issues…. They were bad at first. So bad I really didnt use them for Xbox for a long time. Bad defined as audio glitches and dropouts.Nowadays however, its much more stabe- not perfect – but I frequently play glitch/artifact free. The actual sound quality is definitely flatter/compressed compared to my phone. Idk why but for some reason I assumed Xboxs proprietary wireless would be awesome. The convenience and functionality is fantastic for me though and outweighs those things. I still often think about just getting a Bluetooth transmitter for my reciever to enjoy better quality, but really would hate to bounce around like that.So. All that said. Very happy with them, even with Xbox issues. They beat out my B&W px7 s2, and Sony XM5(returned the Sony’s terribly underwhelming and cheap feeling).

They sound great in everything. Feel luxury
The media could not be loaded.
Bought this mostly for the ANC and it works. Not as well as airpods pro 2 maybe? (Its hard to compare them really) But I got these because I wanted a gaming headset with noise cancelling because we have this industrial fan in the basement running constantly to circulate air and my old ps4 rig 800s (I use them on ps5) let that noise bleed through. Which isn’t there fault, they’re designed for comfort over everything. And they’re the best in comfort imo. But it was time to upgrade.Either way, the headphones themselves sound great. Better than the rig 800s. And they can get a little loud than my ears can handle which is nice to know because some of these gaming headsets like the turtle beach 700s max on the loudest setting arnt even close (which i own for my xbox). After setting these up, and using the app, like I’ve read from other reviews elsewhere the app is hit or miss. It works on my phone with no issues, but then I tried on my ipad and it had non-stop issues connecting and errors popping up. And sadly in both it always tells me my battery is like 84 or 81% battery life. I’ve yet to determine if its actually the battery or a glitch with the headphones. I’ll be sure to update this review if it turns out to be the headphones. I’ve already contacted b&o USA number and they’ve opened a ticket for me if I determine its the battery. My personal opinion is its the buggy app but we’ll see.The only design physical flaw I’ve noticed on these, is the metal part of the left cup wasn’t polished like the right cup. So you can feel the metal circular grooves and its kind of unpleasant to a degree. But such a minor flaw, I’m willing to over look it.As far as how they sound, they’re really great. The EQ options are kind of terrible in the app for bluetooth. Like I honestly don’t even understand why there are even other options. Cause the standard optimized one is best. It must be very situational for other uses? But I found them very lackluster and did not offer any kind of improvement at all. For gaming via the usb dongle, the eq options are much better. They give you the ability to fine tune it and though I have no idea how to, I know it gives you free range to do so. Unlike the Bluetooth EQ. They are entirely different from each other. All in all, I really like these headphones. They’re a little tight on my head. And I wear titanium framed glasses with very flexible rubberized tips for your ears. And they don’t hurt or interfere to much. Maybe push down on my nose a bit but it takes a little trial and error moving them slightly and they’re perfect.I would highly recommend these if you’re into gaming on ps5, they work well. And I bet they’re even better on pc with dolby atmos since its free. All in all, I’m content with this purchase.

The best headset I’ve ever owned.
Oh I was a little skeptical of this headset. Mainly because of the price point. I was very lucky and actually got them on sale for about $300 rather than the hefty price tag of 500+ tax. I wanted to have a reason to return them, but I wanted to try them as well. Comfort wise this headset is so light and the earmuffs feel so comfortable there’s not too much pressure on anything. I love the low profile and simple look. I was used to using Astro a 40s for gaming and those things have big bulky ears they’re heavy and clunky and there’s no noise canceling. this headset was knight and day for me. I mainly use it for gaming and listening to music. And it is amazing on both sides. The directional audio is just perfect for any of my FPS games that heavily rely on sound. And music is like listening to songs that I’ve been listening to my whole life for the first time. I hear all these little things that normally you wouldn’t even have any idea that they are there. Little random guitar, licks, or ambient sound effects, it is added a whole new layer to the music that I listen to. As for the “virtual boom mic“ that is also a great selling point. I don’t actually use the virtual boom mic for when I’m gaming and talking to friends through discord and what not, but for phone calls and talk to text stuff while I’m gaming is amazing. I love being able to have my phone and my computer hooked up to the headset at the same time. It’s so convenient to be gaming and to be like, “oh, I need to send a text“ and just say hey Siri send text message and just speak it out and say send. The battery life is amazing, on the weekends, I game at least one day for almost the entire day, I will turn that headset on at nine in the morning and it will still be going strong at 40% battery by 10 or 11 at night when I’m about to get off. The noise canceling works well also, and I really put it to the test because where I sit to game is about 4 feet from the laundry area in my home. There is no solid door. It is a pair of by folding doors with wooden slats, so there really is no sound dampening from the wooden doors themselves. But with the laundry going washer and dryer at the same time, yes, I can hear the washer and dryer going but it’s almost like it becomes white noise. When I take the headset off and put it back on when the washer and dryer are going it’s insane the difference . And if I’m playing a game, it’s almost unnoticeable. My only con with this product and it’s not really a huge con, sometimes when moving around you will hear this very light metal clink noise good and it’s something in the headset but I’m not sure what it is. I will stress though it is very minor and I only notice it if there’s absolutely no sound going through the headset at the time so while I’m waiting for a game to start up in the music not playing or there’s a quiet moment on the phone is when you might hear it. I would honestly recommend this to anybody, but I would probably wait for a sale because $500 is a bit much in my opinion. Not to say it’s not worth it but that’s just a lot of money for people who work average jobs and don’t have the best pay.

[PC/PS Version] Perfect for a very specific customer
First I’ll start by describing myself.I primarily use my headphones at my desk for music/video, and game on PC. I spend a lot of time on discord calls. My room has a fairly noticeable amount of background noise.I also fly about 5 times per year, 2 ways.So I was looking for a pair of headphones that would satisfy both of these use cases.Until now, I had a wired setup for my desk (dedicated amp/dac with a variety of wired headphones) with an ant lion modmic wired. This resulted in a bundle of wires following me around at my desk, and many of my headphones were open back, so the background noise would be an issue. And for my flights, I’d use a pair of air pods pro. However, they’d run out of battery part way through a flight, which would be pretty annoying.I believe that this headset is the only option in the market that satisfies the following criteria:1. Low latency wireless audio for gaming2. Noise cancelling3. Audio quality actually sounds decent (no the steelseries doesn’t count)4. Connects to my phone via bluetooth5. Doesn’t look like a gaming headset so I can actually wear it in public6. Has a decent mic that doesn’t revert to bluetooth phone quality when connected to a PCThere are headphones/headsets that do any one of these things better than the BeoPlay Portals. But as mentioned before, I still think these are the only option that do all of the above. However, I think there are caveats to consider before buying these (numbered same as above):1. The wireless connection does not go very far. I’d say after 7-10 feet, and out of line of sight these start stuttering. I’m not sure if this is typical of 2.4ghz dongle-based connections. With line of sight it’s much better. EDIT: It seems to be a lot better now, I can go around 30 feet line of sight without noticing any differences in quality.2. Noise cancelling is fine, but dedicated NC headphones are much better. When enabling NC, it pops in instead of fading in like with other options. Voices and other non-constant sounds filter in much more than others.3. No, they don’t sound better than the air pods max (though I do think they sound better than the Sony WH-1000XM series). After my ears acclimated to them I’d say the sound quality is really nice. They’re definitely the best sounding wireless gaming headset I have ever heard for music. If you’re into EQ, there’s an equalizer APO preset available online to match the harman target.4. The bluetooth connection could use some updates. Especially when connected to both the dongle and my phone, there are some issues. Could be my phone having a problem as well. Usually disconnecting BT and reconnecting solves the issue. Also, the bluetooth doesn’t connect automatically, and I need to tap the button to get my phone to connect. I tried toggling the auto-connect setting in the app, but it didn’t seem to help. (update: auto connect now working)5. These look great. No caveats in the looks department. I’d say there’s more pressure on the top of my head than I like, so if you’re sensitive to that, it could be worth trying other options. I’ll also say that at first these used to slip off my head, but since breaking in/accumulating my oils (ew) it seems to grip much better. The ear cups are replaceable, and they twist off. But they have this plastic fixture so I assume you can only replace them with genuine B&O pads.6. Though it doesn’t revert to BT call quality when used as a headset when connecting to a PC, the mic quality is pretty meh. Since I’m really picky about how others hear my voice, I got a modmic wireless which solves this issue, and I can still be without any wires when at my desk.Other observations outside of my requirements:Battery life seems to be as advertised, but it’s really tough to time it for 22 hours. I’ll just say that I haven’t had any issues or surprises. The Type C charging is convenient.I don’t use the tap controls much, but the volume slider on the back of the right cup is really nice. The noise cancelling/transparency mode slider doesn’t need to exist IMO, it could just be a toggle or a button. But perhaps someone else will find it useful. The app does what it says, but it’s a bit flakey. Usually by waiting a bit, it figures itself out. I don’t use it much.Make sure to use a USB 3 port for these for the dongle. When using 2.0 (using included adapter) there was stuttering, but when using a 3.0 or type-c it started working fine again. Not sure why since this shouldn’t requre more than the 480mbps usb 2.0 spec.I definitely complained a lot, but overall I’m very happy with these. I’ll test the noise cancelling on a plane and maybe remember to report back.At the full price I’d hesitate to recommend these, but check price comparison web sites to get the best deal. I got mine for $300 for which is definitely worth it. Given all these caveats, for most people I’d recommend a gaming headset from a reputable brand (sennheiser/epos?), plus a pair of noise cancelling wireless headphones from Bose/Sony/whatever. That would probably still be cheaper than buying these at full price, and you could get the best of both worlds. But these are perfect for me.

Beautiful tragedy
Absolutely gorgeous: quality incarnate. Even the charging cord it comes with seems like it was made by Gucci or Ferrari. That being said, reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it is a BIT lacking in base.Bought it because my Steelseries Nova Pro Wireless (fantastic sound period) started sounding like there’s a broken piece of plastic in there, and couldn’t get it FIXED because I bought THAT from GameStop and the wouldn’t print me the necessary recipe I needed to do warranty with Steelseries. Steelseries did seem like they were gonna help,of GameCrap didn’t screw me over.DO NOT BUY FROM GAMESTOP.Rant over so B&O is a superb company, that cares if you have an issue, and is Johnny on the spot when you do. Sound quayis FANTASTIC just lacking for base-heads like myself. But still great.
