    Not if you are tall

The chair does have multiple adjustments, but is not adequate for someone tall from the waist up (6’2″ overall). The lower lumber support does not rise high enough to get to the deepest part of the S curve of my spine. Also, the seat cushion is not firm enough for all day desk work as the tail bone tends to curve without enough support. Packaging was good, assembly easy, but it will be returned.

    Lumbar support

Great office chair and gives good lumbar back support for working all day.

    Less Pain…Super Gain!

I typically sit for over nine hours per day as a software developer and engineer. I’m also 68 years old and have been diagnosed with arthritis in my neck and back. My doctor recommended that I find a new desk chair that provides good support and would allow me to adjust quickly to accommodate my health. The Branch Ergonomic Chair immediately met my needs! It was easy to assemble and I started reaping the benefits of the superior engineering, support, and comfort from the first time I sat down on my new “Coding Throne.”

    Very comfortable

I was in the market for a new office chair and this one had great reviews. It’s very comfortable and supports my back well. It’s also very aesthetically pleasing! My only “issue” with it is the arm-rests. They stay in the down position but slide in and out. Often times I find myself keeping my arms between them and not using them – it would be nice if they could flip up. Not a huge detractor, just a personal thing, but wanted to call it out.

    Comfy enough

The media could not be loaded.

I bought this chair to replace a crate and barrel tufted office chair. That crate and barrel chair was given me back and tailbone problems. This chair is comfy enough, although still leaves me with a sore tail bone after, several hours of sitting. I like the design of it because it looks higher end like a Herman Miller or steel case brand at a quarter of the price. I will say that the chair at my office which is a Herman Miller is much more comfortable and I can sit in it for 8 hours without the sore tailbone. Overall for the price I think this was a Great Buy.

    Good build but lacking comfort

Materials and build of chair are good. The cushion isnt very thick/supportive so I ended up buying an additional pad. The armrrest are hard with no pad, so I bought a pad for them. Im short, 5’5 and place where you sit was like a inch too long for my legs. If you are taller this chair is probably not a problem but i wouldn’t buy if your are around my height or shorter. There are definitely stronger options at 300$

    Lovely home office chair

I’d bought what looked like a posh, leather executive chair when it became clear I’d be working from home a lot in the pandemic – thought it would be a nice little treat since I’d be spending a lot of time in it. Turns out that chair caused a lot of hip and backside pain, so I had to find a new solution. This is so much more comfortable, with a seat cushion and design that does not cause pain. I’ve had no issues with the arm rests being unstable like some have mentioned, just made sure to assemble securely. I love the light blue color, too – adds a bit of freshness to the home office.

The best mid-tier chair I could find. Worth the investment if working from home

At the early stages of the pandemic, I purchased a work from home office chair like just about everyone else. I bought a functional-but-not-too-expensive chair. I then ended up purchasing better wheels and a detachable lumbar support for that one. Despite the add-ons, it just was not comfortable for an 8-10 hour day. I have chronic back issues so I’m a little extra sensitive to these things. I’m also cheap so I sucked it up and kept using that chair for about 2 years until I finally decided I needed an upgrade.I had/have a Steelcase chair at work and that one was always comfortable so that was my initial thought. That thought was quickly extinguished after seeing the price of those chairs. I mean, it’s cheaper then physical therapy, surgery, etc but c’mon. I just can’t justify paying over 1 grand for a chair. This Branch chair was the most reasonable value and pretty close to the top of what I was willing to pay. It also got good reviews from respected publications, which it’s hard to find a legit review thru all of the propaganda lists out there. I wasn’t absolutely sure it would be an upgrade but I have been pleasantly surprised.Very easy to assemble. The instructions are crystal clear and there are online videos on the Branch website to walk you thru it. They clearly put a lot of effort into making this as easy to assemble as possible. To be honest, that wasn’t overly important to me but it was a bonus. Worth noting, I purchased another set of the Lifelong rubber caster wheels because they are just awesome. I immediately installed those rather then the included wheels as I didn’t want to mess with trying to get the original casters out after being installed. As for fit and function, it’s very good. Not as good as my in-office chair that costs 3-4x more but it’s just as good where it counts most. There is adjustability in the height, lean, thigh support, arms, lumbar, etc. The lumbar support is just OK. It does serve the purpose and I’ve been able to ditch my separate lumbar support cushion. It’s not life changing but again, functions as needed. The thigh support, height and arms all appropriate for me — I’m 6ft and a biscuit over 200 so judge accordingly. Based on adjustability range, I would imagine it would work for a pretty wide range of body types, maybe up to 6’4″ and even 300lbs. Definitely would work for shorter/lighter folks.I’ve had this chair for a couple of months now and no complaints or regrets. It feels like it will last many years. Overall, quite happy with the purchase and would do it again. It’s the right chair at a reasonable price point for me.

Just received the product – 1st impressions & assembly review

I spend 10-12 hours per working day in my home office, so my chair is an important item. I chose this one based on features, reviews, and price. The chair was packed well in a sturdy carton with each item wrapped separately. The shipping carton was heavy but I was able to wrestle it upstairs to my office without too much trouble. I emptied the carton and removed the packing material. Installation instructions are not included; there’s a card with a QR code that you scan with your mobile phone camera. Touch the website URL that displays and you’ll go to a PDF file online containing instructions.I like the fact that an Allen wrench was included, all the bolts and washers were shrink-wrapped onto a single card and clearly labelled, and there were surprisingly few of them. I needed no other tool. The description of fitting the casters was incorrect: “Push the casters in the holes with a fair amount of force (they should pop).” No, they don’t pop, and pushing them accomplished nothing. I discovered after some fiddling that pressing the casters into the holes while swinging them from side to side worked quite easily though.Assembling the chair back and mechanism and dropping them onto the base assembly went without a hitch. Attaching the arms took a bit longer than expected. The instructions told me to just “insert them into the sides of the chair,” but it didn’t note that plastic levers had to be moved out of the way on each side to make room for them. It’s not hard to figure out, but why not make my life easier and mention it?Attaching the seat cushion to the rest of the chair was the final step. You have to fit the cushion onto a frame and slide it in until it pops. It can be awkward for one person to do, and you have to do it by feel as the cushion obscures your view. The instructions say: “On the right side of the cushion hold the seat depth adjustment pull open while sliding the seat onto the chair frame.” It took me several minutes to figure out what they were referring to. After you see it, it looks obvious. I advise you to study the illustration carefully for the wide, rectangular (not square) pull lever attached to the cushion base. See the last of my photographs. If that isn’t pulled out, you won’t be successful. As to the chair itself, it’s always a weird feeling when you sit in a new, unfamiliar chair. So I’ll reserve judgment until I’ve had a chance to get used to it. But — 1st impressions are positive. It’s comfortable, the seating position feels supportive, and the casters glide softly across my hardwood floor. If it holds up for as many years as the chair I’m replacing (maybe eight), I’ll be happy.

    Good chair for the price

Good chair for a reasonable price. I work from home and this chair definitely helps with posture throughout the day. Only knocked a star off because the back could provide more lumbar support.

Might be a stupid question but this is the first office chair I get and I see the back part is sort of loose, is this intended or?

    Good for price

A great chair for this price. Every bit as good as the Miller Aeron. I followed the setup video and it is quite adjustable to fit me.The seat itself is the only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars. I bought a separate pad for the seat and am very happy now.

    Super comfy and erganomical

I usually go for heavily padded chairs, but decided to try something different. This chair is amazing! Doesn’t feel hard, has so many ways to adjust, and I can easily sit for hours.

Best investment I ever made in myself.

I used to work for a company who solder ergonomic office chairs. So, I have sat in many. I work from home and my Office Max chair was just not cutting it! This chair was made for me. Really good looking too. All the bells and whistles. My only fuss is I’m not in love with the square arm rests. But I’m getting used to them.

    Love this chair!!

I was looking for the right chair for a long time – and this one met all of my needs and expectations. The mesh seat allows for air to flow and I don’t get sweaty when I sit there for a long time. The chair leans back so when I am tired I can take a break. This mechanism locks as well, so the chair can stay tilted back or can lock in the upright position. The arm rests move back and forth and also can be made a little wider (for those who indulge in too many cookies). Overall, the only down side is the extra time I spend at my desk working!

    Easy to construct

If this 80+ year old woman, with no mechanical experience, can put it together, anyone can. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The chair is exactly what I needed and I’m loving it.

    Excellent home office chair

We purchased this as a gift for my dad when his previous home office chair began deteriorating. He has back problems, so we knew that we needed to find one that would work for his body. He has been very happy with this one! In fact, you know it’s a winner when my dad hasn’t added extra cushions and back supports to it. Over a month in, and the chair is working great, exactly as is. I will say, that I’m glad we were available to assist with the assembly – I don’t know how that would have gone if it were up to my parents alone. However, with my hubby there to help, it went together well.

My wife was complaining about her back sweating during the heat this summer and I remarked that I didn’t think it was as bad. But I already had one of these Branch Ergonomic chairs. Instantly bought her one and she has nothing but great things to say about the chair. Good solid construction, very comfortable. We love these chairs.

    Very comfortable – good quality

I really love this chair. I like all of the ways that it can adjust. It feels sturdy and high-quality. I’m a smaller short person and I like that I can put the seat depth out and then cross my legs on the chair. Or adjust for shallow seat depth and sit like a normal person. It also looks really nice. It doesn’t look any different in-person from the pictures online. It was also easy to put together.I think the price is fair for what it is.

    Best home office chair

I think all the negative reviews are from the people who didn’t assemble it properly or don’t understand how to adjust it. This chair is great if you’re short!! The assembly was a breeze. It’s comfortable for an 8 hour day (with stretch breaks, of course) and adjusts perfectly for proper lumbar support, arms, etc. I highly recommend it (and an adjustable standing desk) for your home office – or office office! LOL

Nothing like a blue desk chair to relieve those office blues! Not only do I feel pretty, my back and tush are thanking me for the lumbar support and comfy seat. Plus, it really ties the room together.

Great chair, wished it lowered down further

Chair is very comfortable, appreciate the many modifications you can make to its positioning. Looks attractive too. Easy to put together. Only gripes are that the arms slide forward unintentionally, and that it is a bit too tall for my desk and I can’t lower it more to fit easily under it.

Great chair even for bigger folks

I love this chair. I’m 5’7’ and weigh 250 and it fits great. Nice sized seat, well cushioned. I love, love, love all the adjustments. I especially love you can lean back and lock in that positions. Great for relaxing while watching a video or in a meeting.Overall, a great chair. I believe it’s priced fairly for all the features and comfort you receive. Just buy it already!😃

    Lots of unfounded negative reviews

This is a great chair, that adjusts every way necessary to get a custom fit. It’s super comfortable and is well made. Yet there’s a ton of what now appears to be manufactured negativity to the company and product. I couldn’t find another chair at this price point with all these features and now wonder if those reviews are competitive PR.Here’s my experience which was contrary to what I read…The product arrived within days rather than the week estimated. It was securely packaged in a totally intact box, clearly and professionally printed and branded with the “Branch” logo in multiple places. All pieces were thoroughly bubble wrapped and placed with care in the box.The instructions and guides are world class. Not English as a second language brain teaser BS from a laser printer. But rather a step by step booklet with clear instructions and images. And only 5 total bolts that need to be screwed in.The hardware came in a blister cardboard pack with each piece clearly labelled as to where it fits into the instructions. Even a spare bolt “just in case”.And a guide on how to adjust everything for a perfect fit.Best part of all is that after only two days of using it i’m way more comfortable thru the day, and even better, all of my back and body aches from not using an ergonomic chair are gone.So now it’s a matter of durability. The chair back is merely stretched fabric so let’s see. But based on the experience so far, I’m confident.

    Very good, but not excellent.

Easy to order, quick delivery, the look of the chair and color selection is good. Adjustability is good, but not great. I find the chair is good for tasks of a couple hours, but not all day. The lumbar support is adjustable, however it is not enough for me even with the seat pan all the way aft. The arms adjust out (wider) which is good. The arm rest slide forward and back which is good. The wheels roll smoothly and the base is stable. The fabric breathes very well. Overall, 4 stars for quality and value.

    Awesome chair

This is a pretty good dupe for the generation chair by knoll. Only complaint is that the lumbar does not go up high enough for my 6ft partner, but it’s great for me who is 5’3”.

    Major upgrade!

I work from home full-time and my old chair was starting to hurt my back from sitting all day and it was time for an upgrade. After doing some research I decided to buy this chair over some of the other name brands due to price and so far, I haven’t been disappointed. The assembly was pretty straightforward. However, I did manage to put the mechanism on upside down when assembling the chair. Oops! Easy fix to remove the three bolts and assemble it the correct way.If you consider yourself short this chair may not be for you. I am 5’8 and with the seat at its lowest setting my feet are barely flat on the ground.I’ll update my review as I use it more but first impressions are very high!

I love this chair! Good for short/petite people

This is my first ergonomic chair I’ve owned for home use. And I have never had a chair that goes low enough to fit me until now! I did a lot of research and decided on this because of the quality, adjustment features and price range. I’m 5’0 so I’m really short but this chair sits low enough for me. I keep it at the lowest setting. Looks great with my Flexispot E7 desk, I got the beige/tan chair. I’m used to sitting in Herman Miller chairs at work but they are always too big and don’t truly fit my small frame. This is super comfortable and the best fit I’ve ever experienced. I love the adjustable seat (seat slides out a few inches) so I can sit cross cross applesauce if I want too and still have enough room everywhere. And the adjustable arm rests were a must have for me. The armrests are not squishy, pretty firm. I decided to buy padded armrest covers but now that I have it I’m not sure it’s completely necessary to add on. The armrests still fit under my desk. I also like that I can lean and tilt back in the chair which I was never able to do in bigger chairs because they were too big. And I like that you can lock the position. The backrest isn’t too high for me either. The adjustable lumbar support is nice but it’s not aggressive at all. It’s just enough support for what I need. The wheels surprised me because they roll easily and smoothly with minimal effort on 2 layers of carpet! I’ve had other chairs that were problematic on carpet and even on a plastic chair mat. I even had a chair without wheels because of that; but I still missed being able to roll even if it was only a few inches here and there. I don’t have to worry about that anymore! I’m happy with the amount of cushion on the seat, very comfortable. The breathable mesh back is nice and the mesh is strong. The chair was packed well in a large box but I was able to get the box upstairs on my own. It was easy to build on my own and only took a few minutes. I suggest reading the instructions before watching the YouTube video because the video leaves out a few important details. It was such a challenge to find a chair that fits petite people as most chairs are designed for taller people. And I read countless reviews and most people don’t mention their height or there were very few reviews where the person was 5’3 or under. I think this chair would be great even for people much taller since I am happy with the lowest, smallest settings of the chair. Overall, the chair still feels spacious but not overly so. This chair is well made and high quality. I can see it lasting many years and it comes with a warranty!

    shorter people will need modifications

Very good chair for the price ($300 on sale). If you are 5’2” or shorter, you will need to get extra lumbar support and a foot rest. It is not designed to fit shorter people, the chair does not go low enough and you cannot adjust the lumbar support much. but I was expecting that from the product specifications. Since I work a hybrid position and don’t need to use it every day, this is okay with me especially for the price. It was very easy to assemble and the cushion is very comfortable. Also it looks really nice and feels high quality so I think it’s very good for being $300.

    WONDERFUL chair for the price!

I have been working from home for a few years now (as a lot of us have) and have been using my office-store chair that I got for around the same price all along. It has been great, however it has started to get squeaky, uncomfortable (mesh seats are the worst, don’t bother), and was just not the best made thing around. After some research online and asking friends in similar positions, I found this in my price range. I wanted to get something new over a used big-name chair as I want it to last a long time. I love that it isn’t some no-name Chinese brand with no support, but rather a domestic company that offers real warranties backed by real people.MAN what an upgrade! The seat is super comfy, the fabric is really attractive, and the chair itself is sturdy where it counts. The base and core are all metal. All the adjustment levers are actually easy to operate which is a first for me. Usually they are so hard you never use them.I definitely recommend the optional headrest if you plan on reclining back in it. Makes a huge difference. I can actually fall asleep really easily in this chair. As for any negative reviews, here are my rebuttals to their points as a 5’11” 170lb man in his mid-thirties:• The lumbar support is totally adequate and sturdy in all positions I’ve tried it in. It feels supportive without being too hard or in the way. Personally it helps my posture a ton.• The build quality feels pretty good to me. Cheap chairs I have owned in the past have plastic wheel bases that break super easy. The wheels seem fine, and the fabric feels really good. No chemical smells or anything weird. The packaging used a TON of plastic film, which is annoying, but easily recyclable these days. Assembly was 5 bolts and took less than 10 minutes.• Adjustments and positions feel great for my average body. TBH, if you have a bad back and need an above-average chair, you need to shop around for your specific needs or get orthotic pads, don’t fault the chair for your above-average requirements. I am average. This has average features designed for an average North American person. I like it!!Looking forward to many years of service from my new Branch chair!

    Such a comfortable chair!

Fast shipping. Super easy to put together. I did it all by myself, after my husband lugged the box into the house and upstairs. Very comfortable and lots of adjustments to fit. Like that the armrest can slide back so I can get closer to my desk. Husband is already looking to get one for himself.

Basically an affordable Haworth chair. Slightly less quality but good where it counts.

Great chair and has seriously improved my working from home situation. I’m comparing it directly to a Haworth chair I sit in when I go to the office and it’s really close to the same amount of comfort. The quality of the materials is perfectly satisfactory but the Haworth chair feels better quality, yet this chair is perfectly fine for the price.Probably my biggest dislike is that the chair arms move forward and backwards TOO easily. Very easy to accidentally move your arms and push the chair arms all the way out or in. Only reason it’s not 5 stars cause it sometimes annoys me.

    Added support with cushions

Unless you want to spend $700-$1000 for a real ergonomic chair, this is a good compromise. It has more adjustability features than most chairs, mainly the seat pan depth. The lumbar support isn’t great so I added a lumbar pillow between the back of the mesh and plastic lumbar support mechanism which helps. Sometimes I use a seat cushion for when I’m sitting for extended period of time.I’d give this 5 stars if I didn’t need to add support cushions, and if it was in the $200 price range. Over all, this chair is better than most.
