Okay overall; best for taller people

I’ve only been sitting in this chair full-time for 3 days now, but I already have a good idea of my pros and cons.Pros:- Seems sturdy, I think it will last a while- Easy to assemble- Looks great- Many options for adjusting the chair (arm height, headrest height/angle, lean back, degree of lumbar support, chair height)- Rolls easily (this could be a problem though if your floors are not level)- Seat is comfortable- Comfortable head-rest- You can lock the seat in place to it doesn’t lounge back or you can keep it locked in a slightly leaned back positionConsThere are a few things about the chair you should be aware of since I think these could be a deal-breaker for some:- Not suited for short people (or should I say, people with short shins). If I measure the bottom part of my leg from the bend of the back of my knee (backside of my leg past my calf) to the ground it’s about 16-17 inches. My feet touch the ground but JUST BARELY. This is with the seat at its lowest point. If the chair were a smidge higher I don’t think I would be able to use it because my feet would not be able to touch the ground fully. I’m 5’8″.- I agree with other reviews that at its most upright position, the chair still feels like it’s leaned back too far. I prefer to sit very upright when I work so this is my most major complaint.- Like some other office chairs I have used, you can’t move the arm-rests from side to side to make them narrower or wider, and you can’t adjust the distance between the seat back and the seat. If you have longer thighs this could be an issue since your knees may go too far past the end of the seat.- The lumbar support is just okay. I don’t love it or hate it. I really just wish the seatback leaned forward more to support my upper spine. In summary: if the seatback leaned forward more at its most upright position, and if the chair were a bit shorter at its lowest point, I think this would be the perfect chair for me. If you’re on the taller side and naturally tend to lean back slightly when you work I think this is a great purchase. Otherwise, it’s not worth it especially at the price point.

Great chair for all day use.

This chair is very nice and definitely worth the money. Spend at over 8 hours in it each day don’t feel sore or any pain. Very sturdy and ergonomic. 5 stars, couldn’t be happier with it.

A fair price for the quality

Normally a good chair is an overlooked piece of your setup. I can guarantee you’re looking at this right now because you need to work from home, or you have a cheap store brand chair and you wanted to spend some extra money. Before diving into my opinion on the product, remember that every body is different. For me, my body didn’t fit the chair comfortably. As you can tell with other reviews on the product, it fit others perfectly fine. That being said, I do have a few design suggestions to the Duramont team to improve this product.* Use a different back mesh that has more give to it. You want something that can cradle the user.* Use an entirely different lumbar as the provided one (for me) created back pain when sitting in the chair. While the lumbar had up and down, it didn’t have much extend and retract. As a result, even on the most “out of the way” setting, it was digging into my back like plastic as the cushion used was not thick enough.Otherwise those two points, I think I had a mostly pleasant experience.A nice feature I liked, but dreaded, is the non-stepped back tilt. I loved it because it’s a breath of fresh air on a chair. I dreaded it because I know, over time, the friction lock can start to slip if you lean back too hard into the chair. Duramont reached out to me after writing the original review and they told me that there was a simple fix to remove the slipping problem. If you have questions regarding this, I’d suggest you reach out to them directly at duramontbrands@gmail.comWhen it comes to warranty, there’s a 90 day money back guarantee (which appears to be the standard in this industry), so I’d suggest you try it out and see if you like it or not. The worst is that you disassemble it and return it (have a rubber mallet ready to get the piston out of the base).Overall, I think for the price of chair in the market, I think you’re in for a good seating experience and this is definitely a safer option than the other chairs in this price range.

    Incredible Customer Service

Update: after submitting my initial review (below), Duramont contacted me to resolve the issues I reported. They provided amazing same-day responses, and very quickly shipped me replacement parts. While the chair was a beast to take back apart, the replacement parts fixed my problems, and I’m back to loving this chair.I do encourage anyone else who might be having problems to reach out to Duramontsales@gmail.com to get direct help! Their support is extraordinary!I DO recommend this chair. It was frustrating to have parts fail, but based on the reviews, it seems pretty out of the ordinary for that to happen. It’s awesome to know this company stands behind their product with their superb customer service.Original Review: I really wanted to like this chair. I read so many reviews, and compared to dozens of other models. At first, it was great! My back felt great, my posture was excellent.Alas, I’ve had the chair for 8 months, and it is already failing. About six months in, the connection between the back and the seat became mysteriously loose, so now the back wobbles a bunch. A month after that, the chair started lowering itself without the lever being activated. Let me tell you, when you leave your seat at a high setting and it is suddenly the lowest setting, that micro-fall is a split moment of ultimate terror. Finally just today, eight months into owning this chair, I noticed that the left foam armrest is starting to crack and split.I’m 5’4 and between 135-140 lbs. I use the chair to work, and not for anything wild like desk chair jousting. There is genuinely no reason the mechanisms and arm rests should be failing so early. I’m incredibly disappointed, and would not at all recommend.

The chair is fine, maybe even exellent for your needs, customer service is excellent

*** Update – 4/20/2020 ***Duramont reached out to me regarding my original 3 star review. Since the chair did not meet my ergonomic needs, they were willing to issue a refund. It’s fair to say that they want to make sure that their customers are happy and satisfied with their products. This is especially important when buying furniture online that you cannot try out in-person. Based on how important I consider customer service to be, I have decided to update my rating. There is no quality issue with the chair, it just didn’t meet my needs.*** Original 3 star Review – 4/14/2020 ***This is a fine, but not great chair. I have not been using it for long, so this is my review after less than a week of use. Ultimately the negatives come down to one primary thing, and that is the seat height. If the entire seat could be lowered by another 1-2″, almost every negative would be eliminated from my review.Pros:- The mesh back is comfortable and breathable- The headrest is a nice addition that can easily be removed if it doesn’t suit you- The recline motion is good.Cons:- The seat height does not get as low as I would like. This totally ruins the ergonomics of my home office setup, since I cannot raise the height of my keyboard and mouse. Now I am much more hunched over when typing than I used to be in my old chair. I also am much more comfortable sitting with my knees slightly higher than my hips, but that is not possible in this chair. To be fair, this is a common problem. I had a hard time finding any chairs that could sit as low as my old chair without compromising on other important features and cost, so I had to settle for living with this problem.- The seat cushion is very stiff, with practically zero compliance. I have not had an issue with butt comfort, but the lack of compliance of the cushion compounds the seat height problem above. I think the seat height would be less of an issue if the cushion actually had some compliance, considering how thick the seat cushion is. But at 155 lbs, I do not get any compression of the seat cushion when I sit.- The armrests are much farther forward than ideal. They function, but would be much more useful if they were 3″ or so back from where they are. In their location they interfere with my natural arm position when trying to use my mouse. This would not be an issue if the entire chair could be lowered by another inch or two.

The Lumbar Support Is A Must Have

I ordered this chair after a couple of months at my new office, as the chair they provided that was just awful. It had no way of locking it from rocking backwards. offered no lumbar support. and no arm wrests. The box came to my door a little beat up, my guess from the shipping handler, however everything inside was packaged well to prevent any metal from scratching and any fabric from tearing.I ordered without expert assembly, a little worried it would be rather complex. From start to finish the assembly of the chair takes 8 steps, with instructions and images to aid. It comes with every tool you need and even includes extra screws in case you lose any. It also came with these microfiber gloves to prevent the lubricant they put on the washers and certain parts of the chair from getting on your fingers however they were too small and wouldn’t fit over my hands, but at least the thought and time was taken by the manufacturer. I would recommend you have someone help you when installing the arms onto the base of the chair as it can be pretty difficult to line them up correctly, luckily I had my wife to help me. Otherwise, this has to be easiest piece of furniture I have ever assembled. All of the threaded sockets for each screw were lined up great, I had no issue screwing the parts together and didn’t strip a single screw. Now let me focus on what/how much I enjoy the chair. I have used it heavily for a week since I got it and it has really helped me relieve pain in my back as I am often having to work at my desk as of late. The fabric on the seat, and head is mesh with some sort of foam, that offers support and comfort at the same time. The back is just the mesh fabric which allows the chair to breath so you don’t warm up and sweat constantly from sitting for longer periods of time. You can lock the seat at any angle to prevent it from rocking back further (a must for me) and by far my favorite part is the adjustable lumbar support in the back rest. A small curved block (hard foam I think) sits at the lumbar and a knob can be used to adjust it in and out to your desired level. You have not enjoyed sitting in a chair yet until you have found the perfect support for you lumbar. The head rest is adjustable up and down, is curved, and you can rotate it somewhat to whatever is most comfortable for you. I am 6ft 3in, and have no issue fitting in the chair and the head rest is tall enough to still be used comfortably for me and offer support (big fear of mine with any office chairs). The arm rests are your standard variety comfortable supporting hard foam, that can be adjusted up and down.I am very happy with this chair, its the first I have ever bought. It is simple, easy, looks good, and is relatively light. Another thing I consider to be a perk (others might not) is I have carpet in my office and most wheels on chairs are designed in such a way that catch the carpet and prevent it from moving. The wheels on this chair seem to be designed to avoid this. They are well built in my opinion and are free of that annoying cover most manufactures put over a wheel, that encompass the whole wheel, and catches carpet.

    Just buy it!

Buy this chair now! I’m doing to do my best to be as concise as possible and refrain from going on an endless rant about how much I love this chair. What I’m going to do instead is accurately and thoroughly review this marvel of modern engineering. First I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself. I’m a 6 foot tall 250 pound military member with previous surgery on L5S1 which has left me with nerve pain every day of my life as well as problems on three other levels of my spine. Generally chairs aren’t designed to seat a person of my stature and won’t last very long. I requirea chair that’s very sturdy, adjustable and ergonomic. The box came, overjoyed I struggled to lift it into my apartment. The first thing I noticed was the weight of the box. It gave me a sense of assurance in knowing that I bought quality. The Hardware felt to be of good manufacturing. Also I received double the hardware necessary to assemble the chair. I LOVE EXTRA HARDWARE. The instructions were very well illustrated and the chair built in minutes. One thing that I really appreciated was the way adjustments were engineered into the design of the chair. While assembling you can adjust the width of the arm rests. Once the bolts are tightened down your arm rests will only adjust up and down. Another adjustment built into the chairs construction is controlling the distance from the seat to the back rest. This is generally only a feature on higher end chairs and I was happy to see that is has quite a bit of range. The roller blade wheels are amazing! My apartment has tile floor and my old terrible chair struggled to move anywhere, often getting tiny wheels stuck in the grooves of the tile. It generally made navigating chasms of my unorganized room clumsy and difficult. With these rollerblade wheels I can glide from one end of the room to the other. Its effortless, I love it.The mesh feels very comfortable and breathable. The lumbar support is amazing. I nearly fell asleep the moment I sat in this. The lever that allows the chair to tilt back or sit straight up is the kind of lever that you push down or pull up. This is very good because some other chairs have a lever that’s essentially a bar that you slide horizontally. Over time the bar can work its way out so when you go to sit back in your chair the lever pops out and the char sends you flying backward. This has happened to me at least fifty or sixty times and I have ended up on the ground as a result of this. The design of the seat back lever of prevents this from happening. This chair is so comfortable that I felt the need to write this review as soon as I sat down. Already my back feels better, my nerve pain is reduced. I had been sitting on a broken chair for over a year and a half until I noticed the amount of discomfort I was ignoring and pulled the trigger on this. I will update this review if anything changes or the chair fails overtime.

Comfortable but more firm than I would like

I have a chair at work – it’s the most comfortable chair I ever sat on. I wanted to buy one for home, so I looked it up, and it’s an $1300 chair! I am not spending that much on a chair, so I looked for a similar but much less expensive brand. This was it. I ordered it, and it is similar, but the cushion is quite firm and not nearly as comfortable. I know, you get what you pay for – but for $270 this chair should be more comfortable than it is, so minus one star. Other than the quite firm cushion, I love it. Metal legs, rollerblade wheels and adjustable back support are all wonderful! For those who are curious, my work chair is SXO Nightingale mid back with headrest. Epically comfy but way out of my price range

    Luxurious? No. Wicked comfy? Hella!

First impressions. Replacing a Respawn gaming chair, looking for something with a more robust seat. The Respawn seat flattened to the wood in a few weeks, had to buy a butt cushion, but that’s another review. I need a solid well constructed, very comfy all-day chair for telehealth work. I was looking at mesh chairs, but worried about stretch and longevity. Wife nixed all my cushy leathery chairs like the Sertas, and got me to buy this one. Looked like a nice cushy seat, comfortable airy back. Seemed a bit pricey, but I’m cheap (the Sertas evidence to the contrary), which is why the wife picked the chair. It looked good, so we bought the Duramont ergonomic chair for a solid seat and a mesh back, a hybrid.Nicely boxed, heavy. Well packaged, arrived undamaged. Unpacked in a few minutes. I followed the easy directions, one page. Had it together in less than 25 min. It really does come with white cotton gloves, and a very nice T hex wrench. Popped the wheels on, stuck the airlift in the very heavy solid metal base. Nice wheels. The cat is a very big 18 lb Siberian for scale, who is head butting my phone as I try to write this. His name is Zaphod, big lovey lug of a cat. I used the box as a table to build the seat on which made getting it together by myself quite easy. I set the seat upside down on the box. I put the base on first, instead of the armrests, because as an American ain’t no one the boss of me. Actually, because ts massively heavy and held the seat down steady. 4 bolts, solid, felt like they could take gorilla tight, but I stopped just short. The armrests were also easy, but I could feel the wood give a bit on a couple bolts so they are nice and tight but also not gorilla tight. Solid. This thing is a tank. First sitting: luxurious? No. Kinda utilitarian. Wicked comfy? Hella yeah. The seat is firm and very comfortable for my 5″11″, 235 lbs of chubby buddy. Loving that lumbar pad support, right where its suppose to be on my back. I found I have the armrests all the way up, as well as the head rest, but it’s quite comfortable. This seat can be raised really high, my feet don’t quite touch the ground at full extension of the airlift, nice for my high desk. First impression: solid, well constructed very comfy chair. Is it worth $329? I wouldn’t have bought it, but I’m cheap. My wife never misses getting the quality she pays for, this chair included. Tomorrow’s work day will tell if its a solid, well constructed very comfy all-day chair. If you want quality, this is a good bet.

    Better Than Expected…

The chair was ordered on Dec. 27, 2022 and arrived on Dec. 30th. A quick and timely delivery in light of the world as we know it today. The chair was boxed & packaged nicely and there was no shipping damage which is always a good thing.I removed all the components from the box to begin assembly. This was a very easy process. The instructions were easy to follow and all the components appeared to be well made. Assembly maybe took me approx. 20-minutes or so.Once assembled I gave it a “test drive” in my living room. At first the seat pad felt a little too hard and i thought maybe I would have liked softer seat padding. The roller blade wheels really made the chair scoot around extremely easy and smoothly. No noise going over my hardwood floors. Nice.I like how the chair back leans back and you can easily lock in the position you want and then easily unlock. I like the lumbar support adjustment and also really the headrest adjustment (nice addition if you have long video conferences like I do…I can rest my head in a comfortable semi-upright position during the video meetings).I have now used this chair in my office for the month of January and I love it. No complaints. The padding that I thought was going to be too hard is really not too hard at all…I am comfortable sitting in this chair for up 8-hours or more. I am in my mid-60’s and this chair does not give me any pain(s) whatsoever. Great value for the money spent!I should also note that Duramont reached out to me shortly after I received the chair making sure that did receive the chair and if so was I happy with chair thus far. Nice customer follow-up.I purchased this chair sight unseen other than the reviews & pictures I saw online. I did not want to run around to furniture stores or Office Stores trying out chair after chair. I was lazy after Christmas. I took a chance and this time I got lucky and it really paid off.

    Good quality chair

I am very pleased with the quality of the chair. I will say the quality is outstanding. The chair was very will packed in the box. the assembly instructions were the worst I’ve ever seen. A single sheet of paper i had to read with a magnifying glass. it had no instructions just pictures. They need to bring 3 people in off the screen hand have them each assemble a chair, document their suggestions and then implement them. If they can charge hundreds of dollars for a chair they can afford a good intuitive assembly instructions.

Very happy with my new chair

Wheels are nice and sturdy, do not catch on anything. Chair quality feels good. Nothing feels “cheap” on this chair. Only took about 20 minutes to get the chair together. It was nice to see the detail that went into this. The lumbar support is a little squishy, but not bad. I might not have it fully adjusted TBH. The headrest is probably the one odd part that will take the most getting used to. How it adjusts is kind of odd, and feels a little different. That is taking a little bit to get used to.

  17. Uncle Junk

    4.0 out of 5 stars

Made with higher quality parts, has many great features, but still a cheaply constructed chair.

I’ll start with the good:Steal chromed base is solid and gorgeous. SO must nicer than the plastic bases most chairs use. The “Rollerblade” type wheels are a whole other level of mobility over traditional casters. The also look very sleek. They are prone to wiggle around more than casters though, this might be an issue trying to keep the chair steady. The mesh is nice in provides the ventilate you’d expect. The mech still “holds” on to your butt. I’ve had polymer mesh fabric chairs before that were so sleek your butt would slide right out regardless of what you were wearing; jeans, slacks, dockers, jammies, etc… Not a prob with this chair. The adjustable headrest rocks. Goes up and down, tilts forward and back and actually provides support without having to tilt your head way back to reach it like other chairs I’ve used. The adjustable lower back support is a nice feature and gives a lot more control over other chairs whose lumbar support has a limited range. The not so good:Armrests are a bit hard and will be tough on your elbows after several hours of sitting. Definitely by the end of a work day.The seat despite seeming to have a good amount of cushion, doesn’t have good quality cushion like better office and gaming chairs. I got the stiff flat butt feeling within a couple hours despite taking breaks every hour and walking around like I do. After a couple of hours into my day’s work or gaming I found myself regularly adjusting and shifting weight to get comfortable. The price is crazy high for what it is which just another mass produced, cheap China chair. Yes, they use higher quality parts in the metal base and feature more options like the back and headrest which are nice features that made this chair better, but in the end it’s just a cheaply constructed chair that comes in a generic brown box that’ll wear out in a year or so. There’s plenty of chairs at half the price or less that are made just as well and will last as long.Instead of sinking $250 (now over $300) in this chair you’d be better off putting that money into a real quality $500+ chair from a reputable brand that has a standard 5 year warrantee.

    Recommend Duramont Office Chair

We are very pleased with this Duramont desk chair. The quality is excellent for the price. It has all the height and back adjustments we were looking for in a new office chair. One small note: As Duramont indicates, the arms move up and down but the arm rests do not translate in and out. If that’s a feature you require, then you’ll need to look elsewhere. The chair was well packed and protected from today’s typical rapid and often brutal delivery.Assembly was easy to follow with the pictured instructions. The written instructions are a somewhat clunky translation to English but you won’t have any trouble deciphering their meaning. The supplied fasteners were extremely well organized in an individually labeled blister package. Duramont also supplies extra fasteners and washers. The bolts come with tread locker already applied to the threads. Duramont also includes a T-handle hex 5mm Allen wrench which makes the assembly must more convenient. If you have you own 12mm six-point socket wrench, it will make attaching the chair back to the seat slightly easier but it can still be completed with their supplied T-handle Allen wrench. This is one of the best and most well-executed self-assembly supplied packaging we have seen from any company. Other companies could learn some lessons from Duramont.Everything went together exactly as indicated in the instructions, bolts threaded in smoothly by hand, and nothing had to be forced together during assembly. We recommend this Duramont office chair. It is a high-quality product in both materials and design.

    Good chair

Bought one at the start of covid for my wife’s WFH set up. Thought I’d be bringing it down to my studio after a few months when it was over, fast forward 4 years and still has that WFH… as everyone knows. But, my studio chair was toast, so I tried a Costco LaZBoy chair that was horrendously uncomfortable, and then decided to get another of these. My wife’s chair has held up over these years and is still comfortable, so I got one for myself. It is comfortable! The lumbar support offers a variety of adjustments and doesn’t hurt. It rolls well. The head rest has a lot of adjustments. The layback option is nice.I didn’t install the arms, as I play guitar and those get in the way.My only complaint is the seat cushion, while it is comfortable, it does feel like it may way out over time and flatten. But there is good support there and the other chair is still great, so I’m not too concerned for longevity. Also, not a huge fan of the mesh-y material on the seat. Not always easy to clean sometimes with dust and things.

    Made it work

This is a great chair after a couple modifications. It’s well built and comfortable with good adjustments. To get it to work for me, I needed to make a couple changes. First, I removed the lumbar support, which was poking me in the back instead of supporting me. I couldn’t adjust it in a good way. I was concerned my back would have problems with no lumbar support, but remarkably, the chair provides descent lumbar support on its own without the pokey support bar installed.Second, the wheels were not good for my carpeting with a mat on it. They dug in and the chair would not move. They might be best for a hard surface or very thin carpeting. Thankfully, I had spare wheels from my old chair. I swapped them and it was much better.

    Great Chair for WFH

It’s been about 2 weeks since I’ve bought this chair and it’s pretty good. I’ve had a gaming chair for the last 6 years and it’s deteriorated and broken down quite a bit and was causing a lot of back and neck problems. So instead of getting a new gaming chair, I decided to get an ergonomic chair since I’m at my desk 10 hours a day. I did my research and decided to get this chair, and my back and neck have stopped hurting and fixed my posture. If you had a similar problem, I highly recommend this chair.PROS:- Comfortable seat cushion- Adjustable neck cushion for height- Adjustable armrests for height- $100 coupon making it much more affordable than the $370 sticker price- Comfortable lumbar support- Breathable material to prevent sweaty back and butt.CONS:- The neck cushion can shift side to side a little.- In my Microsoft Teams camera, the neck cushion is visible and breaks the background.- The wheels can slightly move and you may need to reposition to stay stable.- Armrests are not 4d and there is a gap between the end of the armrest and the back of the chair that my elbows can slide down sometimes.- The lumbar support knob can take some time cranking to the right position.*Overall, I give this chair a 8.5/10 given all the pros and cons and price into consideration. The pros outweighs the cons and my back and neck have not been hurting since using this chair.*

    Good Value

I work from home so spend hours each day. Had a leather chair but the leather flaked. Wanted a new chair with the mesh so it would not flake after a few years. The chair assembly is easy and well labeled. The adjustments are good. The soft wheels are terrific. The seat is firm but after a couple months, it is suiting me well. The lumbar support is highly adjustable. Don’t dial in too much at first. It may be too much. I needed to back it off to get comfortable.Still 4 stars is all I can assign because it’s a good value for the price, but it is not as good as a 5 star rating… which undoubtedly means a more expensive chair.

    Great chair but

This is my longest lasting chair, but the material in the corner has worn out and some padding has come out, I still use the chair but had to buy a pad to put on top. Also wish the arm rest would be adjust in width

    Mixed Review but great company

Update… Review is still about the same. The discomfort I had first day did not continue once I adjusted better. Still wish back support was a bit better for me but… The company is amazing. They read my first review and reached out to me to figure out how to make it right. For that reason and that I do think many would love these chairs I ma changing my review to 5 stars. It’s hard finding a company that cares so much about it’s products and customer. Good job Duramont! So, I received my chair on the weekend and assembled it on Monday. I wanted to give a few days of use before leaving my review.I’ve now been using the chair for a full week.Assembly was no real issue, did take a little time and only one correction (put the arms on wrong sides even though marked). Only issue with product out of the box was one armrest had a dent in the cushion from resting against the metal on the other armrest while in the box. The dent has mostly corrected itself, but the issue is not enough to really complain, just a minor dent on inside of armrest.Love the height of this chair and size of seat. The wheels are great, I actually have to be careful not to go rolling across the room they glide so nice. The back tilt and raise and lower function work well.Lumbar support – there was nothing in the documentation explaining that it could be raised and lowered. Originally, the position was WAY to low for me and was very uncomfortable. After looking at it in detail I realized it could be raised or lowered (although not necessarily easily, make sure to have no tension on it when moving up or down). With chair mostly upright I feel most of my back support is on the lumbar, even at most compressed setting. I wish it were a little less so more of my back could rest against the chair back. In reclining, it is wonderful but that is not practical for working. The seat cushion, some complained about it being too hard. I don’t feel that is the case, it is not super soft, but at 275 lbs, I have no issue with it.The headrest is pretty much useless unless reclining, but this is also probably linked to the fact that most of my back is not resting fully against the back of the chair (see lumbar above). When reclining, it is great.Overall – I’m still on the fence on this chair. I do like it more on day 5 than I did on day 1. First day I was very uncomfortable until I got it adjusted better. I wish it had more back support overall but it is not bad now that I was able to position the lumbar a bit better. If I put a pillow on the back of chair it works well, but for the cost of this chair, I shouldn’t need that, Maybe a little more time and me adjusting to it will make the difference. We will see and I will update if so.

Good but missing 1 star !

Overall the chair is good, ergonomic design, flexible, good quality materials,But, Be cautious if you’re not wearing shoes or socks, the wheels can easily injure your feet.I am working from home, all the barefoot, and It happened to me. I had to buy a new set of wheels for my safety.

Great chair for 4 years, then rapidly fell apart.

This chair was the first time I spent more than $100 on an office chair. And, initially the benefits were huge. so much adjustability and more functionality for leaning back. But all this came at a cost, and more than just in the price tag.I used this chair for 7-8 hours a day for 4 years. After about a year, I noticed it would lean back easier and easier. So even if I just wanted to sit up with some back support, it would sink back and I would be practically reclining. I did some adjustments, problem solved. Rinse and repeat about once a month for two years and gradually the adjustments became harder and harder to make.In the third years the plastic attaching the back to the base broke and the back was permanently leaning back a little bit. Not a huge deal, so I lived with it. But it slowly broke more and more until eventually I effectively had a stool.I did some jury rigging with industrial glue, and got it last another year. Then today I noticed the tension for the base was leaking onto the ground. Probably because I’d had to tighten it so much over the years to prevent it from leaning when I didn’t want. After trying to fix it, i have lost all control of the lean function and the I am left with a floppy stool.I still got my money’s worth without a doubt. But I just found it quite surprising that it didn’t last as long as those $70 chairs I’d get at office max. It makes sense when I think about it: this chair had a lot more moving parts and thus a lot more points of failure. All this being said, I think I’ll stick with cheap chairs that stay at the same comfort level for longer, even if it isn’t nearly as nice as when the more expensive chair was brand new.

    A (very) tall guy’s perspective

TL;DR: If you’re ‘tall’ you’ll probably like it. If you’re ‘stupid tall’ – I don’t know of a better affordable option for you.I’m 6’7″ and around 260lbs. I got this chair because several reviews online suggest that this is a good option for a tall person. Let’s just get into this for a second: 6’2″ is tall. Almost everyone thinks that 6’2″ is tall, and even though I’m a giant, I can tell that someone at 6’2″ probably deals with the challenges of buying things that fit. Most sites recommending things for tall people are talking about people who are 6’2″ when they write one of those “top 10 chairs for tall people working from home” articles. 6’7″ is not in that consideration set. 6’7″ is a height that maybe .01% of people would ever write a review about. 6’2″ is tall, 6’7″ is stupid tall.I’m not writing this to specifically answer whether this chair would work well for someone who is “tall”; I think there are already reviews about that on here. But yeah, I’ll say it: if this chair works for me, it will probably work for you too. I’m specifically writing this to help the handful of peeps out there who are “stupid tall” (there are literally dozens of us).For the ‘tall’ – this chair is probably ‘good’. For the ‘stupid tall’ This chair is ‘fine’, bordering on good. It is the second best chair I’ve had behind a Herman Miller Aeron size C at my last office. The gap in comfort is pretty big between the two, but no where near big enough that I’d shell out $1000 more to buy one. Some comments:- I don’t expect this chair’s construction will allow this chair to last more than 2-3 years with someone over 250lbs sitting on it daily. It makes some noises when I move around- The arm-rests are too narrow for me to use; luckily I typically rest my arms on my desk and move the chair closer so this isn’t a huge deal. Just slightly uncomfortable when I recline as I have to awkwardly angle my arms inward- Just providing a couple inches of telescoping of the back of the chair would probably solve a lot of issues for me- The seat length is adequate to support my long legs, but not enough to support all the way out to the back of my knees as ergonomic guides would recommend- I DO find myself leaning forward at my desk pretty frequently, something that I didn’t do as much in an Aeron type C.Final thoughts: If you’re over 6’4″ – there probably still isn’t a chair on the market that is made for you; even an Aeron type C isn’t really. At “stupid tall” heights – if you have a money tree – get the Aeron, you won’t regret it. Otherwise, this is the best other option I’ve found. If someone has a suggestion for another option under $1,000 – I’ll gladly take the reco; but I’m pretty content with this for now.

This chair fails where it is most important – the lean back mechanism

Update: The manufacturer responded to my email to them. There is a bolt that can be uncapped and tightened on the side to increase the friction related to the problem I described below. That said- I’m updating from 1 star to 3, however, this is still a design flaw since I’m sure it creates unnecessary wear on the plastic component it rubs against.I’m writing this review on July 13th. I received the chair on April 15, and a key feature failed more than a month ago, but after the return period.Like many people, due to COVID I’m working from home more often. My previous chair I had had for a number of about 15 years, but it wasn’t good for spending entire workweeks in. My first preference was to look at the chairs we have at work, some type of Steelcase chair. After seeing that the specific one I use at work is over a grand, I continued my search. I knew what features I needed, and after my needs, I knew what my wants were. Here are the needs Subjectively :•Comfortable – This chair was comfortable until a key feature failed• 8-12 hours of support – This chair kind of supported properly, but no longer. Here are the needs Objectively :• Base swivels – Yes• Height adjustable base – Yes• Height Adjustable Arms – Yes• Seat lean back feature can be set to an angle. – yes, but not as you’d expect from all other chairs• Chair is on Wheels – YesNice to haves• Arms swivel in and out – No• Arms slide forward and back – No• Seat slides in and out, to allow adjustment of the distance from back. – NoAs you can see, for $330 I got all of the features I couldn’t compromise on. Once I got the chair, I only had two minor gripes, and I learned to get over them. The first gripe is the armrests. They’re wide side, and they have a U-shaped divot that your arm can rest in. However, when you use them since the arms are wider than the keyboard, my elbows sat on the end of the rest, and since the rest was a U-shape, they dug into my funny bone and made my arm tingle. I fixed by resting my cellphone on the armrest and putting my elbow on that. No biggie, I can deal. The second concern is that most office chairs when they lean back, you can set how far back they lean, and then they freely lean between that spot and upright. This chair, when you lock it in the leaned back position, it says there. This was far less than ideal, but I dealt with it. However, after less than 2 months of using the chair, that mechanism failed. The mechanism uses a “brake” type mechanism to lock the chair, however, it does it with friction. It doesn’t have a bar that goes into a peg or anything. Within two months, the chair no longer kept friction, and now the chair just leans all the way back when you use it. This just isn’t suitable, at least not for me.I have scoliosis, and by this chair not reclining between two points reliably, this chair causes me to be in severe pain on a daily basis. It’s to the point that I’m considering working in the office where we have good chairs, just to avoid the pain this one causes. I plan on following up with the manufacturer to see what they can do if anything.

    A Good Value

Update (2/6/20):Almost have had this chair for 2 years now and it’s still holding up pretty well. The mesh cushion has sunken a little bit, but is still comfortable. Despite other reviews about the legs of the base breaking, mine have held up perfectly fine. The back mesh is still strong and supports me just fine. The arm rests are still going strong despite my initial concerns. The only annoyance I’ve had is with the bolt assembly for the back rest. I’m not sure if there were supposed to be nuts included with these, but there should be since I had to re-tighten them on a 1 to 2 week basis if I didn’t want the back to wobble when it was supposed to be locked into place. I finally got annoyed enough to just go to a hardware store and find some that would work. This was a few months ago and since then I’ve not had to re-tighten them. YMMV.=========================================================================================Original Review:I needed a replacement for my 10 year old office chair, so I figured I would at least get a decent replacement. I received it in the mail a couple days ago and I’m not regretting it so far.Pros:1. Very comfortable to sit in for more than a couple of hours (my old chair caused me mild back pain after an hour of sitting). The breathable mesh back keeps me fairly cool in my otherwise hot office.2. Easy to follow instructions. It only took me 30 minutes to put it together. I suggest attaching the back onto the bottom bracket before installing it to the seat unless you have a second person around to help. You also might want to check the shims before you start construction. There are only a few that fit the large screws (I had to take 3 screws back out just to get the right shims).3. Included everything you needed to put it together. They even threw in some mesh gloves if you don’t want to get your hands dirty!4. The mostly metal construction feels very sturdy and like it will last.5. Adjustable height arm rests are super nifty. Especially when you’re switching between different height desks like me on a regular basis.6. The casters are very quiet and easy to roll. I can pretty much roll across the office in dead silence if I want.Cons:1. The box was pretty banged up by the time I received it. I’m not faulting Duramont for this, but it does suck seeing a moderately expensive item come in such a ragged looking package.2. The chair has a very strong chemical smell. I left it to air out overnight and it has helped, but I definitely need to do it a couple more days. It might not bother you, but it gave me a headache.3. The armrests feel a little wobbly. This isn’t from the bracket being loose, but from the lifter mechanism not being super tight. It’s probably fine, but it does make me wonder how long they’ll last.Overall I’m happy with it so far. I’ve sat in more expensive chairs similar to this price and this chair doesn’t seem too far behind. It’s definitely worth the extra cash over the basic task chairs you’ll find everywhere. I’ll keep this review updated down the road depending on how well the chair holds up for me, but I think it should be okay for a long time. Cheers!

Great So Far, But Has Some Considerations

Overall, I really like this chair, but there are a few things to be aware of.Pros:-Assembly was really easy and only took about 15-20 minutes-All of the adjustable parts are as adjustable as they appear in the product images/videos, which is a relief considering how individual our comfort is-The chair is very firm, solid, breathable, and doesn’t seem like it’ll take on wear and tear quickly/easily-It glides around with ease on my office carpetCons:-While everything fits together great, some parts are not designed to be securely attached (wheels, gaslift, and seat are only connected by gravity) – if I were to lift this and really shake it or bang it against a doorframe, I’m not convinced that the bottom half would stay entirely intact-This chair is objectively heavy – I’ve never had an office chair that weighs this much – it helps that it feels sturdy and can support a significant amount of weight, but I think a smaller person might find it cumbersome to put together or lift it when it’s done-I’m not sure I’d feel comfortable leaning very far back in this chair – while it’s solid, it feels like it could topple-I’m not sure anyone taller than me would be happy with the height, depending on how they sit – I typically have my feet flat on the floor and I am right where I should be when the chair is at it’s full height – for reference, I am 6’0″If I think of anything else or if my opinion changes on anything, I’ll update this review.

    Good, basic chair

Has helped my back pain and allows me to sit for longer periods with out pain when standing like my old “gaming” chair. I could only describe it as a stubbed tow kind of pain. upon standing there would be a pain that slowly built up until crescendoing and you were walking around like an old person for a bit after sitting for a few hours. While the cushion on this is way better than the previous chair I think I can take it a step further and plan on reupholstering it at some point in the future and putting in a bit thicker gel foam pad. As is, I feel like I’m compressing the pad down to the plastic a bit more than I would like so a denser, thicker foam pad should improve it.

    Nice chair for the money.

This is a comfortable office chair with some nice features. The seat is a bit hard but I feel it will soften up a little over time. It provides good back support and I like the adjustment features. On the downside I have yet to figure out how to adjust the headrest. It seems one set you cannot move it up and down without a great struggle. Will keep working on that one. However the head rest is one of my favorite features along with the recline feature. I can lean back all the way and have a few minutes of “focus” time which is great.

Overall a great chair, but not quite worth the price.

I’ll keep this short and sweet:Pros:- Chair was pretty easy to assemble by myself, and the included hex-key tool worked great- Fairly comfortable and supportive- Chair height and lumbar support are great and easy to adjust to where you need them- Rollerblade wheels are a nice touchCons:- some of the parts appear very cheap and plastic-y- the headrest adjustment knobs were broken on the chair I received. Lucky for me though, the spot where it falls to is actually where I need it sitting at, so whatever.- the armrests are super cheap and don’t have many adjustment options.Overall the chair is nice, but I don’t quite think it’s worth $340. I’d say at $220 or less this chair would worth it.

Good but not great…without one modification. After the mod I now love my chair. This mod is a must.

I have a bulging disk in my neck and wanted a chair that will keep my back aligned. The lumbar is great and very adjustable. The neck/head support is just as good and I love the fact I can adjust the head support very easily while I’m sitting. I adjust the head rest at least five times a day. The arms adjust up just enough to support my arms while typing. A pivoting arm that could be locked in place would have been ideal. I wish the back would be able to adjust forward at little but it’s not even close to being an issue. The seat is a little hard as other reviewers have said and if it was about 25 percent softer I think it would be perfect. One advantage to the seat being stiffer is that it should last longer. One of the features bugs be to no end and it was one that I expected to love. The roller blade style wheels roll easy, too easy as a matter of fact. Once you get the position that you need it moves. Plus the single wheel design makes it very hard to position as well because five wheels are trying to swivel at the same time. Single wheel casters just do not swivel well at all. I have my chair on a thick carpet protector. I removed the protector to try that and it helped with the chair rolling too easily but made the casters more difficult to rotate. So hard in fact I can see something breaking if I pushed too hard. I’m happy for the most part. I’m not sure if I had the chance to try this chair out in a store that I would have bought it though because the wheel issue would have been noticed early on.9/5/2018 Update….I replaced the roller blade wheel casters with dual wheel casters and the main issue with the chair has been solved. Take a look at the picture I uploaded showing the different casters. The roller blade wheels were so hard to swivel that I twisted on of the arms on the base. I was able to twist the arm back without breaking it, thankfully. I’m pretty sure that the reason some people have been breaking the base is due to the roller blade casters being so hard to swivel. I ordered the casters in the picture from McMaster and the part number is 2798T57. I tried putting a seat pad on top of the seat and it was not good as it actually hurt my rear after some longer sit times. I actually like the firm seat now that I’ve used the chair for over a month. I think they would have a great chair if they just changed the casters. Something to think about.

    Not horrible but flawed ergonomics

This is another quickly designed cheap generic brand rushed to market chair. The design has some flaws. With some redesigning this could be an excellent chair for other people with average US heights like myself. I don’t think the chair was tested with actual people in my height range – 5ft 8in. This is the core cause of my complaints. The lumbar support is my biggest issue. When the lumbar support is at it’s lowest setting it still sticks out and into your back significantly. You have two lumbar options with this chair – either an average amount of lumbar or a lot of lumbar support. At the very lowest setting it is just acceptable enough for me. I would preferably like to set it lower than it can go. Compounding this is the extremely flawed height range of the lumbar support. Lumbar support should fit in the natural small of your back. I have an average American build with a height of 5ft 8in. The very tallest height that the lumbar support can be adjusted to is 3 or 4 inches lower than the middle of the small of my back. I would thoroughly recommend this chair for someone who is 5ft 4in or shorter. Any taller than this and you may notice that the lumbar support creates added discomfort. The height of the seat of the chair is quite tall. I’m 5ft 8in. The chair feels a little too tall as is. I swapped the wheels out for another set that I found that are 1in shorter. With the extra cost of the replacement wheels the chair is now at the perfect height for my comfort. I would not recommend this chair for anyone shorter than 5ft 8in.The two paragraphs above rule out anyone taller than 5ft 4in and anyone shorter than 5ft 8in. Essentially this chair wasn’t well designed and was rushed to production. The ergonomics clearly were not tested with people of my height.I’m not a fan of the armrests. They have a strong curvature wherein there is a channel or groove in the middle. When you are doing tasks such as using a keyboard and mouse you will find that the angle of your arms are not perfectly parallel with the armrests. This causes some very small discomfort as your arms go against the curve. I’ve never seen armrests that have a curved surface like this before. If this chair is used in a meeting room and not as a task chair that might not be an issue. Personally, this is used as a computer desk chair at my house.

Decent chair. Akward armrests pads tore after 7 mo of light use.

For the price the seat is reasonably well padded, although it’s crushed down a bit over time from my 170lb self sitting. The back feels pretty good. I like that the wheels won’t scratch the floor. Where the chair misses is the awkward armrests that fit loose, don’t adjust well, and make a lot of noise. The spacing doesn’t feel great, and the pad ripped after 7 months of very light use.So far, I know with how much good office chairs can cost, it’s an ok value, but I’m wishing I either spent less for the quality, or I spent a little more for better build materials.I’ve reached out to support so I will update this review to reflect how that goes.UPDATE: Support was really good about sending me replacement pieces and following up with an email to make sure it all worked out. The armrests were easy enough to replace myself, but the replacement piece for the base were too difficult to get apart so I couldn’t make use of that. The other armpad is now showing scuff marks, but luckily they sent me an extra replacement so I can swap that out. My original assessment still stands although I increased it to a 4 star review for the quality customer support.

    Good…but flawed

I’ve had this chair for about 6 months now. Overall it slides nicely, and it’s comfortable. However… after several months of normal use, it is SQUEAKY. I mean driving me mad squeaky. I’m on conference calls for work all day and sometimes I can’t even hear myself think the squeaking is so loud. I’ve tightened every screw and emptied a bottle of WD40 in every joint and connection I can find. And yet it squeaks with every shift and movement. I’m very frustrated.

Sturdy construction but could use better seat support ($230)

Construction is decently heavy and easy to assemble. I like the cupped armrests and lumbar control. It would be better if it tilted back just a little bit further. Headrest is lightly padded and comfortable. The seat cushion foam is firm initially like some memory foams can be and softens as you sit in it. The problem I have is that it bottoms out against a hard plastic pan underneath the cushion essentially bottoming out. I think some of this discomfort is balanced by the decent back support. If the seat cushion at a more fitted contour I think it would help. I do work at a desk for long hours each day so for a more casual user I could recommend this chair. Also, I am not sure how well the roller blade wheels would structurally hold up on a soft surface. I use mine on a tempered glass desk mat. The rotational correction of the roller blade wheels also have a tendency to cause more resistance when correcting direction to roll forward towards the desk more than my chairs with standard wheels. Also, I may have gotten a mild allergic reaction when initially using the headrest but on continued use have seen less of a reaction and it could be unrelated.I was pleasantly surprised when the seller reached out to me by e-mail to try addressing my concerns. After some continued use the seat cushion has softened and no longer feels stiff when first sitting down. I would still prefer the option for regular wheels as these roller blade wheels either roll too easily or require some force to redirect their direction when on a hard surface. Since the seat cushion has broken in now I have added a star to my review.

The absolute best ergonomic chair for students!

I recently made the decision to upgrade my study space to an ergonomic setup. I’m a medical student and long hours of studying were starting to make my back hurt, which was distracting me. I spent a long time researching different chairs and trying to find the best one for a reasonable price. I finally settled on this one and I’m glad I did!I’ve had the chair for almost two weeks no and it has been life-changing! I’m no longer having the lower back and shoulder pain I was before. The chair came on time and only took about 20 minutes to put together. I was able to do it myself and it came with everything I needed. It was very easy to adjust. The headrest is such a nice bonus because it keeps me from straining my neck. The adjustable lumbar support is probably my favorite feature the chair has. I have some spinal issues and my lumbar spine curves in more than normal which makes finding good back support hard. I was able to adjust the lumbar support easily with this chair and it made an immediate difference. The seat is very comfortable and the mesh material is great for the warmer weather. The ten-year warranty on the chair was another reason I decided to buy it. A lot of other models had limited or no warranty and I didn’t want to spend a couple hundred dollars without being sure that it was under warranty. The chair feels very well made and sturdy. It’s stable and I haven’t had any issues feeling like it was going to tip over when I leaned it back. I have thick carpeting in my living room and the chair is still able to roll over it without much issue. In my opinion, this is probably the best ergonomic chair you can buy for under $300. It has a lot of the features the more expensive chairs have but at an affordable cost. Super impressed with both the chair and customer service. For reference, I am 5″5 (65 inches) tall and about 130 lbs. I highly recommend this chair for any students, office workers, gamers, or people who have to spend a lot of time in front of a computer.

    Off to a good start.

After opening the box and removing all pieces it took about 30 minutes to put this together by myself. I used the box as a table. All the right hardware is there (plus and extra of each one) and the hex tool has a handle which makes it 300 times easier to use than a regular hex wrench.First impression is the arms could use some in/ out adjustment. I got mine all together and had to turn it upside down to move the armrests out. Minor.Seat fabric feels a little less than a smooth or soft as I would like it. I’ll have to see how it breaks in.Height and recline work as expected. The base and castors that this chair comes with are outstanding.I got this with a $100 off coupon and that makes it worth testing out for a while to see how it breaks in. It’s not an Aeron so manage your expectations. It seems, so far, like a solid chair and it delivered what should be expected at this price point.Tiny gripe… the armrests feel a little too far back.
