    Try before you buy

I was very excited about this chair and I want to like it. But honestly, it isn’t as good for me as a mesh chair I had for half the price. I have lower back issues and this chair seems to exacerbate the problem. The chair is very adjustable and high quality but I wish I had tried one out before I bought it.

    Buy it! Don’t hesitate!

I purchased this chair for my husband whose back has been bothering him lately. The chair is very supportive and comfortable. The adjustability of the chair and lumbar support are more than adequate. We purchased size C —my husband is 6’4” and 210 pounds. The seat pan depth is perfect for him.The best news is that his back pain has resolved since using this chair. I just wish I bought it sooner! It’s expensive but worth it.

    Amazing chair

I had the chance to use one at the office in the late 90’s at Enron offices. You know Enron spoiled all the employees, money was not an issue! ;)Well, I suggest that you should not try this chair, stay away from the chair. If you do, you will buy it right there. Yes, it is that amazing. In the 90’s had some flaws and I can tell you those flaws are not there anymore. They addressed them and it made the chair even better.I fully recommend it.

    Great chair! For Boss’s only!

I had one of these chairs when I was a Trader back in the day and loved it. So I bought one because I work from home. The thing about this chair is you can sit in it for 10+ hours and your butt does not get sore. Worth the money. Plus with the 12 year warranty it covers anything. Most other chairs last a few years. Get the chair if you want the best. Size C

    Helped with low back pain.

Long gaming sessions and some home productivity would really do a number on my low back. With the Aeron, I have not had an issue and while it doesn’t necessarily appear to be a comfortable chair, it really is. It seems to hug your frame in a way that is new to me, especially when you lean back a bit. If your budget can handle it, and considering the 12 year full replace/repair warranty, I feel it was a smart and worthwhile purchase.

The most comfortable chair I’ve ever owned

Loved that it came pre-assembled. I just had surgery for a sequestered disc (lumbar), and even before surgery sitting in this chair was one of the few positions where I could find relief. It’s genuinely the most comfortable chair I’ve ever sat in, and can comfortably sit in it for 8+ hours a day.Expensive, but if the chair holds up over time it’s easily worth every penny, especially if you work at all from home.

    Great office chair.

Gave 3 on support because I never had to deal with it. I’m 6’6″ and ~270 lbs and this chair has basically eliminated my back pain in a few days. It’s easy to get the directions on adjustments online and registering the warranty is simple. Chair arrived requiring no assembly. Just pulled it out of the box. It’s not a chair to take a nap in or laze about in. For that, get a big couch.

Love, Love Love my Herman Miller Chair

Wow, so comfortable. I set for hours with no discomfort. This replaced a cheap Office Mas chair that I had to get up from every 1 1/2. I purchased a standing desk to help alleviate the cheap chair situation and that helped, but I dreaded having to sit to work. Enter Herman Miller chair. Again, Wow. We are saving pennies to purchase one for our home office. Can’t wait!

    Worth every penny

Your friends and co workers will laugh at you, your partner will be pissed (until they sit in it), but don’t listen to any of them. This chair is worth every single. I spend a LOT of time at my desk between working from home, making music, and playing video games. Don’t judge me! Before this, I had spent $300 on the Duramont Erganomic chair, and it’s a great chair, but after a couple years my butt started straining the cushion and it was causing me weird physical pain and restlessness. The minute I sat in this chair, which arrives pre-assembled in a gigantic box, I knew I had done the right thing. Do yourself and your butt a favor, and get this chair.

    Worth all the Hype!

I’m only 5’3 and I’ve got chronic shoulder and back pain and I recently started doing teletherapy and within about 2 hrs it became obvious that my previous desk chair was not helping my body. I managed to pick up the Aeron chair in size A as a warehouse deal saving some serious change. I followed the great online tutorial on customizing the settings to my body and it is seriously the most comfortable seat in the house. So much support and comfort! I wouldn’t hesitate to repurchase even at full price in a heartbeat. It arrived well packaged. Literally in a box, inside a box, inside a box, inside a box! I’m so happy I got this chair!

    it’s perfect! For me

Ok… it’s perfect! For me… I mean it simply isn’t going to work for everyone. I’ve sat in everything popular and while they all have super strong merits, this is a standard for a reason. PLEASE take your time and watch a video on adjusting the new one. It’s different, period. If you get the fully open “float” just right with the tension, it’s almost like a tailored chair. The quality is top notch. Nothing feels like it was made in China like every other “high-end” ergo chair. The color of this mineral is striking and so beautiful! And hey! Farting is just easier with the pellicle mesh. Am I right?!?

    Saved my back

Working from home + working on my MBA means 16 hour days in the same chair. I take standing stretching breaks but it’s still a long day. My back was hurting bad. I ordered this chair and it has literally saved my back. Love the forward tilt for tasking, really like the feel of the lumbar support, and I love that I can control the tension on recline. I got a size C which does not seem huge – I’m 5’11 and 225. Product arrived fully assembled in a thick cardboard box. Shipping weight is 55lbs so I took it out of the box then carried it in the house.

    Stop thinking, just order it.

6-2, 240-ish, and comfortably in to his 40’s general contractor who still makes it a point to show the boys that the “office” hasn’t softened him up, then hides the chiropractor visits afterwards. Told myself to spend the money on this chair a year ago, but then the back loosened up again the thought lost it’s urgency. Back in chiro’s office on Wed, poorly hiding the pain, ordered before I went to bed that night. Chair delivered to office on Thursday and noticed an immediate difference. Seriously, quit thinking about it and just order it. It made enough of a difference that I left a review!

    Good Product

This item is a good product, but I mad the mistake of purchasing this particular chair. Lumbar support is not for me, and I missed this when I was observing ergonomics of this chair. But again, good product but not for my back issue-that lumbar stuff don’t work for me.

It feels good sitting in the chair. A little smell from the armrest. Bought it for my wife who is pregnant. May wait a bit until the smell fades.

These chairs are great, however I want to mention something extremely important …

These chairs are great, however I want to mention something extremely important for those of you coming from Aeron Classic chairs. Herman Miller has changed the colors up on the new chairs, and apparently there is no longer a true black chair available. I returned my first set of Remastered chairs, thinking they were the wrong color, only to find out these new chairs simply do not come in anything darker than a dark gray color, with a medium-gray colored pellicle. While very disappointing because I’d become used to the true black color of my old Aeron Classic chairs, once you get over the fact that your office looks like Timmy in purchasing was forced to mismatch chair colors due to budget cuts, these chairs are still fine. The other difference to note, is that these new chairs do not have the foam pad behind your knees, at the front of the seat base, like the Classic chairs.

    Expensive, but worth it.

I bought my last Aeron used, and it lasted me ~ 15 years, even with my cat scratching up the back of it. This time, I decided to buy it new. I’m kinda on the tall side, and some chairs just don’t fit me; this Aeron C fits me so well. Cost is the only reason why I’m giving it 4 instead of 5 stars, but I also wish all chairs came in sizes like the Aeron, were as adjustable, and had as much quality.

Totally Worth It!! Invest in one of these for your health and comfort

I am a big time gamer and coder so I sit on my working chair for nearly 8+ hours a day. I’ve been through so many chairs from DXRacer, office chairs to Secret Lab and all those chairs give my butt aches at the end until I get sore and can’t sit anymore. The Aeron chair solved those all my issues with back and butt pains and I’m super happy with my investment. The chair came in a huge box and was already assembled, I just had to roll it out to my workstation! Takes out any looming worries whether you built the office chair well or not.One thing I recommend is to get the Atlas headrest to go along with this chair, so you can get that nice head support when you want to recline back.

    Well worth the money

Well worth the money! I still have my original Aeron that’s nearly 20 years old and still going strong. I wanted to upgrade a computer desk chair in another room, so I bought one of these redesigns. It hasn’t disappointed! It’s still a super comfortable chair for spending hours at a desk. The mesh has the right balance of support and springyness, and it’s very adjustable for height, tilt, and armrest height and angle.Just like the original model, every aspect of the chair looks and feels like high quality construction that still stand the test of time. HM has done it again. One thing missing is the leather arms option they had on the old model. I hope they’ll offer the same for these in time!

Great for people with lower back problems (Anterior Pelvic Tilt)

Having sat in a variety of “cheap” chairs during this pandemic for a home office, the biggest issue I faced was lower back pain. Both my work and my hobbies are at home on the same desk so overall sitting time could be upwards of 16 hours on extreme cases for example. This type of lifestyle usually destroys your back if you aren’t sitting in a good chair; and it did for me. I couldn’t wake up and sit on the chair right away without feeling uncomfortable on my lower back.Lo and behold, I did a round of both work and gaming, which is about 16 hours; went to sleep, and was able to sit on it comfortably after waking up with surprisingly NO back pain at all. The mesh seating, while it might look cheap, relieves a lot of pressure from your tailbone. Combine that with the lumbar support, which makes sure your lower back isn’t being overused as well, absolutely saves your back. The only thing I can complain about is that the carbon edition I purchased didn’t look as clean and polished as I hoped. The plastic parts looked a bit smudgy when received it. The chair was also covered with dust and other very small materials that made it look “cheap” when I opened it the first time. So you’ll definitely want to expect it looking a bit scuffed when you receive it. After a round of cleaning it does actually look decent, I’ll admit.Lastly, if you’re on carpet, getting the wheels to move on the chair is a bit of a pain. So you’ll probably want to invest $25 to buy herman miller carpet casters and replace the wheels.Closing notes: Objectively it does what it’s supposed to – help with my back pain. The assembly was super minimal and it was able to withstand a 16 hour session with no problems. I have no choice but to give it a 5/5 for my standards. Not having back pain is godsend.

A must have for office workers!

When I was looking around for a new office chair I knew I needed to get the Herman Miller Aeron. Working as a software developer I sit for long hours at my desk and I need proper support for my back. At my last job, everyone was provided a Herman Miller Aeron (though it was not this newer model), and I fell in love with this chair. I could sit for 5 hours plus and not feel any pain or numbness in my back or legs. The support this chair provides is out of this world, especially for the lumbar. I am 6’2 200 pounds and this chair doesn’t have any issues supporting me and I feel like I am floating in it.The features this chair provides are also fantastic. I especially love how I can adjust the back to force me to sit upright and close to my keyboard in perfect posture. To be honest, there is nothing like this. I’ve heard that some people don’t like the mesh cushion (which can be a preference thing), but if you do like it you cannot go back to any other ordinary office chair. You will feel the difference immediately. Going back to my desk, I actually look forward to sitting long hours in my chair. This chair may be pricey, but the way I justify it, it’s like buying a new mattress. You don’t want to skimp out on something you utilize so frequently. If you work at a desk for long hours, you need proper support, else you can damage yourself in the long term. The benefits outweighed the cost for me and I don’t regret spending the extra dollars for this. If this chair does last me over 12 years like warranty states, its money well spent.

One of the finest items I have ever purchased–unbelievable comfort!

It was tough to pay full price, but this is one of the finest items I have ever purchased!! The quality, precision and detail are amazing. The Mineral color is beautiful, and it is a nice change from dark colors. The comfort has surpassed my expectations!!! I have never had an Aeron chair, so my experience is only with this newer version. I wanted the latest version that is updated, with the research done on sitting over the last two decades by the company. I am sitting more now at my computer and I was starting to be very uncomfortable in my old chair which had started to feel like a brick. It was good quality, but I have had it a very long time. There is no comparison–this chair is supportive, makes you want to maintain good posture and responds to your body. I am glad I went for the adjustable version for the best fit. The ongoing discomfort I have been experiencing recently while sitting at my computer, has resolved almost immediately. I spent hours researching ergonomic chairs, and all roads kept leading back to Herman Miller Aeron. I figured this purchase is like a bed–I spend significant time in it so I want it to be good for my aging body. It will last for many years.

    Previously used and short seat

The chair itself is fine except for two things:1) the seat is too short to fit a moderately tall person, that is it does not support my thighs and my knees are are about 5″ away from the end of the seat thus putting undue pressure in my thighs in lieu of my posterior.2) the chair was obviously a return sold to me as new. The parts were simply thrown in a box and delivered. There were neither instructions nor any tools with which to assemble the chair, and, of course, I didn’t have an Allen wrench the correct size. Awesome Chair! No con’s at all.

The Aeron Chair is worth every penny. Like most people in office environments, work study, play WOW have issues with finding the right chair. Having a chair that is actually sized more for your height and weight makes a huge difference by itself as opposed to one size fits all, I’m 5’11 /155 lbs, ordered the Size B, building a chair on the Herman Miller site to assure proper fit for me. Convinced its directly related to health at the end of the day, so I won’t say I wish it was cheaper because it probably wouldn’t be the quality that it is and I would be wanting to swap it out right away. Plus it looks a lot better in person, noticed I don’t lean forward, or twist and turn as much as I normally do.The chair came in a box fully assembled as others mentioned, I did swap out the casters, not that the original ones were bad; honestly didn’t use them but to move 5 feet and back, the carpet with roller blade type casters seem to move across 1/4″ carpet a little easier. I have never been 100% happy with any chair without finding flaws just after a few hours, being in IT and previous sales, have sat in my fair share of chairs as most of us have. I’m certain I will continue to buy this chair from now on for home use.

Great Chair! New design takes some getting used.

This chair replaced an 11-year-old Aeron chair that I loved.Good:- the mesh is much better (feels tighter, vertical alternating stripe bands are also gone) – I wish I had replaced the pellicle on my old chair, tbh.- design and profile are lighter- plastic casing under the seat is thinner and more refined.- foam padding under the front of the seat removed!- Herman Miller logo on the back of the chair where the name used to be (nice and simple)Tolerable?- the base: – is no longer metal; I didn’t purchase the polished base – it is noisy when I scroll or reposition the chair at my desk (creaking and some popping) – I will probably buy hardwood floor casters to see if it stops the noise.

    Way Over-priced

I bought this chair because I work at home and need to sit for long hours. Since I get back pain, I figured the extra money would be worth it.There is nothing special about this chair. It is good quality and better than a cheap “this will do” chair. But there is nothing different about it from other quality chairs that are much less expensive.I worked as a consultant which requires going to different offices, so have tested many different chairs. I assure you that similar chairs can be purchased for a much lower price.I would not buy again.

Excellent chair for long working hours

I am using this Aeron chair daily around 8 hours in my office. It provides excellent lumbar support and support for mid back. Seat is extremely comfortable to sit even for long hours. I have also used Mirra 2 in the past and hard to tell which one is better of the two chairs. I have back problem and could not work without this chair even for an hour. Only problem is that it doesn’t provide enough support for high back. I feel that the back of Aeron is not that high compared to Mirra 2. I hope Mirra 2 gets wire back similar to Aeron in future.

The only thing that fixed my lower back pain

Switching to working from home has caused me to not only be sitting more often, but to be sitting in my subpar desk chair. This has caused me to get lower back pain since it has no lumbar support and is not very ergonomic. In my search for a solution to the problem I have tried 3 other chairs: Steelcase Leap v2, Herman Miller Embody, Autonomous Ergochair 2. All of these chairs were OK but had major flaws in comfort for me, especially considering the first 2 are very expensive chairs. The Leap and Embody both reclined too far back which caused upper back pain. The ergochair 2 was definitely kind of cheap in construction and was only ergonomic fully upright. For me being kind of short and liking to sit upright the Aeron is the only chair that offers everything. And it is the only thing that has helped my lower back pain since lockdown.

    Solved serious lower back issues

Ok yes, it’s a $1300 chair, but I was desperate from serious lower back pain and I was willing to try anything. Perhaps it being so expensive made me think it must be THE best. Well…. I almost hate to say it but it must be. I’ve never been more comfortable (for long periods of time) in a chair than I am in this thing.I’m 6’1″ 275 pounds. “Big guy”. And it’s super roomy and supportive. I’m at my computer for sometimes 12 hours a day writing code and in my other Serta chair which in all fairness was an executive chair (this being a ‘task’ chair) I was literally having to go for physical therapy after long weeks of work. It was awful.Within two weeks of having this chair I have had NO back pain. NONE! In fact I worked 12 hours in it yesterday and thought for sure I’d wake up in crazy pain this morning but instead I felt completely normal. Which is why I’m writing this review. The chair really is amazing. It sucks that the it’s so expensive but looking back I don’t have any regrets now that I can work as hard as I need to without suffering physical detriment after ever session. Finally, I will say that my only two gripes about the chair is that,1. It has one squeak that kinda drives me crazy but it’s probably because I’m seriously overweight. Even so, for this kind of money I would expect it to hold an elephant without squeaking. Just sayin.2. The optional head-rest should not cost $180. C’mon guys. The chair? I get it. It’s a lot of math to figure out how to support the (body) correctly but leaning my head back to rest for a minute can’t possibly be rocket science. That’s a bit of a price gouge in my opinion.Hope this helps someone considering going this route. I personally had anxiety about buying a chair this expensive without ever having sat in one but desperation won the day and I went for it. Extremely pleasantly surprised and satisfied.Best of luck

    Expect a “factory second” condition

Poor packaging may have been the cause of some finish worn off in a couple of small areas of the legs/base. Or maybe this chair started as a “factory second”? Otherwise great chair.

Best chair I have ever used. Most expensive chair I have ever used.

Overall this is the best chair I have used. It provided better support for long computer sessions then any chair I have used. No more back pain! 🙂 It came fully assembled just had to take it out of the box (Love that). Only taking off a star due to the high price it should cost like $600 you pay a lot for the name. Shipping was fast!A few notes…If you think this is a chair you can lounge in your wrong. The way its designed you end up sitting straight up. If you don’t do this I have noticed some discomfort. Also spend some time to adjust all the settings. The posture fit for example took me a bit.. I thought I should have it on the max setting but I ended up being most comfortable with it almost all the way off. With all the said I have been very happy with this chair for long computer sessions 8 hours is no big deal and my back has not hurt at all. I did not realize how much my old leather Staples chair was making my back hurt till I switched to this the support for the lower back is so much better. Also this has a lot of moving parts vs. my old stationary chair, so that takes a few days to get use to the feeling of parts moving against each other. I do think they are over priced. I think it should be priced around $600 you are paying a lot for the name. However all the knock off version of this chair I have used are not even close quality and comfort. If you want one of the best chairs for long computer sessions this is it.

Forget lumbar support, the contour of the seat is far more important

We’ve all been taught that lumbar support is the primary aspect that makes a chair ergonomic. My highly talented physical therapist showed me how the seat’s contour, not the back, is the most important, and the Aeron is one of the few chairs with the correct seat contour which dips down a bit in the back. It’s also very important for the armrests to be such that you can slide the chair really close to your desk so that you are leaning back when using a keyboard. It’s important to know that this chair has a number of options, and you may see this chair sold for far less elsewhere, this is likely due to other chairs being sold without the options, or is the previous generation of Aeron. The chair I received is the latest and has all of the options offered. While unpacking the chair, I really wanted to hate it. While the designers of the chair did a great job, the packing consisted of a very cheap styrofoam base, which disintegrated everywhere and took half an hour to vacuum up. The rest of the chair is mummified in bubble wrap, seems like this could be optimized to maximize protection and minimize what ends up in a landfill.

    Best chair ever!!!

WOW! This is an amazing update to the already incomparable herman miller aeron chair! Love the light color (looks very neutral), feel, everything about this. Posture fit is incredible with the lumbar support it provides. Also all the adjustments make this chair truly an overachiever in ergonomic comfort and support. My hubby and I are both tall – I’m 5’11” and he’s 6’2″ with a sturdy build so the C size is perfect. We feel like we’re floating while sitting on this chair. No pressure spots whatsoever…Forward tilt for active typists, tilt limiter for those that need a bit of recline but don’t want to be totally on your back… adjustable arms – side for support while using the mouse and inward whilst typing as well as up and down, forward and back (just incredible)… and the movements are so smooth and intuitive! The casters are SILENT as they roll smoothly from our hardwood to area rugs! this is SUCH an amazing purchase for us as both my husband and I work from home quite often. I only wish we could afford 2 so we wouldn’t have to share! HA!This model is a wonderful buy and the delivery was SUPER fast! If you’re looking for a great Aeron with all the features… BUY IT NOW!
