Auto IPD is excellent!!!
I was unsure about buying the Focus Vision at first because of its high price, but after trying it out, I think it’s worth it for those who want both standalone and PCVR functionality. Switching between untethered and PC modes is smooth, and the PCVR performance is excellent, especially when using the DisplayPort converter for clear visuals.Even though the design is a bit bulky, the headset feels surprisingly comfortable. The weight is well-balanced, thanks to the battery being placed at the back, which makes long sessions easier. One of its best features is the automatic IPD adjustment, which is especially handy if multiple people are sharing the device. The display is sharp, and the MR mode works well. However, there are some downsides. The price is quite high, and the headset uses an older Snapdragon XR2 Gen 1 chip, which might not handle future demands as well as newer processors. The Fresnel lenses are functional but not as clear as the more advanced pancake lenses found in other headsets. Also, the standalone software options are limited, but the PCVR performance helps make up for this.Overall, the Focus Vision is a great choice for those who want a VR headset that works well for both standalone and PCVR uses. While it has a few flaws, its comfort, display quality, and versatility make it a solid option if you’re okay with the price.

HTC Vive Focus Vision: A Polished Evolution in Mixed Reality and VR Innovation
After my experience with the Vive XR Elite, which I reviewed as a standout addition to my extensive VR/AR/MR headset collection, I decided to give the HTC Vive Focus Vision a shot. And wow—HTC continues to impress with their innovation. The Focus Vision builds on the strengths of the XR Elite while pushing the envelope further in mixed reality integration. The device feels lighter and more streamlined, which makes it incredibly comfortable for extended sessions—something I value as someone who spends hours testing and exploring new virtual worlds.Setup was straightforward, and I was pleasantly surprised at how intuitive the interface felt. The controllers, too, are responsive and ergonomic, elevating the overall experience. What sets the Focus Vision apart is its ability to seamlessly switch between standalone mixed reality and PC VR modes without compromising performance or visual quality.Compared to the XR Elite, the display on the Focus Vision feels slightly crisper, with improved clarity and vibrant colors, making the immersion even more compelling. HTC’s focus on reducing motion blur and latency has clearly paid off here. While no device is perfect, this one comes close. I did notice that some niche PC VR titles had minor compatibility quirks, but firmware updates from HTC have been consistent and responsive to user feedback. If the XR Elite was a “quantum leap,” the Focus Vision refines that leap into something more polished and versatile. It’s a worthy successor that I can see myself using as my go-to headset, especially for mixed reality experiences. HTC is setting the bar high, and I’m excited to see where they take this tech next. For VR enthusiasts, this is another must-have from HTC! Highly recommend.

A practical, all-in-one VR solution !
I have to say, I’m impressed with the performance of Focus Vision. As I have used various VR headsets over the years, I can appreciate the solid build and user-friendly design of this one. The colors are rich, and the wide field of view definitely enhances the experience, whether for work-related VR simulations or casual use. The headset itself is surprisingly comfortable for extended wear, and I especially like that it doesn’t require any external devices or a PC to operate.VIVE Focus Vision is smooth and reliable. I didn’t experience any noticeable lag or issues with motion tracking, and everything feels natural and fluid. The eye-tracking feature also helps reduce strain and makes the experience more comfortable. Overall, I’d recommend the HTC VIVE Focus Vision for anyone looking for a reliable, all-in-one VR solution that balances performance and ease of use, whether for professional or personal use.

Tracking system delivers precise movement detection
The HTC Vision VR headset offers a well-rounded virtual reality experience, with impressive hardware and smooth performance. Its lightweight, ergonomic design ensures comfort during extended use, and the adjustable straps make it easy to fit various head sizes. The high-resolution displays provide sharp visuals, while the wide field of view immerses users in detailed virtual environments. One standout feature is the tracking system, which delivers precise and responsive movement detection. Combined with the controllers’ intuitive design, it enhances interactions in both gaming and productivity applications. HTC also offers a solid library of content, making the Vision VR a versatile headset for entertainment, training, and VR collaboration. However, there are a few drawbacks. The setup process can be slightly complex, particularly for users new to VR, and the price point is on the higher side compared to some competitors. Additionally, while the content library is growing, it’s still catching up to more established platforms.Overall, the HTC Vision VR is a strong choice for those seeking a premium, immersive VR experience, particularly in environments where high fidelity and accurate tracking are essential.

Not as bad as some of the reviews say, but it has its flaws.
I read a lot of reviews before buying this headset. I have (for some reason…) a few high end headsets, including the metaquest 3, and the vibe pro 2, so I’m comparing this to those. I decided to give this one a try despite the reviews I’d read because I really wanted the eye and face tracking (face tracking sold separately.)As far as the build quality goes, it is put together well, in my opinion. They’ve used plastic for most of it, but I think that’s a good thing because it makes it lighter. It’s not flimsy or anything, it’s solidly built. The headset sits nicely on my head, and the adjustable strap on the top and in back makes it comfortable to play for hours at a time.As far as functionality goes, it is a bit quirky to get up and going. A little disclaimer, I exclusively use this thing streaming pcvr. I have no interest in its standalone features, so I can’t comment on them. From a pcvr standpoint, the headset performs pretty solidly, once you get past its little road bumps. I use steam index controllers and vive 3.0 trackers with it with mostly no issues, and it performs just as well as my vive pro 2 does. The auto ipd tracking is an interesting decision to go with given pancake lenses exist, but with that being said, it is pretty effective at finding the right spot for my eyes and making the picture crystal clear. I have a lot more of a difficult time adjusting my vibe pro 2 lenses to be that clear, and I dont think I’ve ever done it successfully to be as clear as the vision gets for me. The eye tracking again has a few initial hurdles to figure out, but once it’s up and running it’s essentially set it and forget it, and it works great. I was a little concerned with having to mix tracking types, as I’ve had pretty g bad experiences trying to get index controllers and 3.0 trackers to work with my meta quest 3, so this being relatively seamless after the initial setup it was a welcome change.I will say, I did end up opting to get the wired pcvr streaming kit vs doing it over WiFi. Despite having a pretty decent router with 5g streaming, there were quite a few times when the headset seemed to lost connection and freeze for a moment while it figured the connection out again. I haven’t tried doing it over virtual desktop instead of the vive streaming software though, I’m not sure if I’d have better results. Hard to determine if it was a hardware thing with the vision or a software thing with vive hub.I also did buy the vive ultimate trackers to work with this. I won’t say much about those because this isn’t a review on them, but I will say setting them up to work with the vision is pretty painless.I will say, the asking price is a little steep, though. I wouldn’t recommend anyone wanting to upgrade their setup to upgrade to this unless they really have a little extra money to spend and really want eye and face tracking. I think this headset works for a specific group of people, people in situations like mine where I like collecting these things and did want the extra functionality of the eye and face tracking. But there are better options out there if this is your first headset or you are wanting to upgrade from a metaquest 2 or something.

Good all-rounder headset
HTC Vive Focus Vision gives a good smooth user experience that has virtually no downsides. Lightweight and well-balanced so that hours of use won’t result in muscle fatigue. Cushioning on the front and back rests the head snugly and comfortably. No observable visual or audio lag. Resolution is superb for both streaming and gaming. No stutter in frames observed during gaming. After hours of use, headset still remains cool.Although not cutting edge, each component is of great quality and can offer a great experience no matter the usage type.

As bad as the others said, please beware.
I just received mine a few days ago. The visual quality is absolutely terrible! Steer clear folks. I own a Quest 3 that is half the price yet a much better visual with pancake lenses. I also own a Pimax Crystal Light that is eons ahead in the visual quality department for the same price point. The Pimax does feel cheap, but the visuals are beautiful.

low quality high price
What a disipointment. The promotional video was very effective, those marketing folks sure know how to do it, but sadly, when you finally get the plastic contraption in the mail, you realize how inferior the product design is.PRO: Nice face cussion, and balanced weight with battery on the back. Astetic design seems ok, controllers seem confortable but a bit too large.CONS: 1) the interpupilary distance adjustment is automatic, but does not work right. I heard the motor sound, but it did not adjust for me (62mm) There seem to be sensors at the bottom of the lenses to detect the eyeball postion? This automatic design feature is the most annoying, it boggles my mind why this company chose this design approach. A simple inexpensive slider would have done the trick, why add cost and electronics to do it automatically and run the risk of malfunction? 2) Inferior fresnell lenses full of God rays, feels like a cheap toy for kids. 3) light leakage around the outer edges of the face gasket, and the nose flapps tickle and are annoying. 4) setup was a bit annoying, I couldn’t see clearly due to the poort auto IPD, and I could see blury on the edges, and screen door effect was very noticeble, So I just gave up and returned it the same day, blurry eyed and annoyed. What a waste of time and money! HTC has taken a big step back relative to the competition. Sad. I expected so much more from them. I should of listened to the other reviews, but thought people are just too picky sometimes.

The OG VR King is Back!!
The OG VR king is back!!! Love VIVE, been waiting for a headset like this for a long time and they finally made it happen. Everything that makes VIVE gear awesome is on full display here: 5k display, made for premium PCVR, built tough, modular, and NO SOCIAL MEDIA layer for siphoning your data.I’m running an RTX 4070 SUPER and games look and play pretty great on Focus Vision. Pistol Whip, After the Fall, Beat Saber, Arizona Sunshine 2, HLA, were all awesome to play on this headset. The controllers feel a bit dated but work perfectly fine and are comfortable as ever. An easy 9/10.

Good product
I’ve owned several vr headsets over the years including the original OG VIVE headset from 2016. This product plays all of my steam vr games just fine as well as some new titles recently released. Even thinking about getting the streaming cable to see how it looks and plays. Overall, pleased with the product.

Really liking this one already!
The very first thing I noticed was how much more comfortable this headset is. My son uses the headset for gaming so this is a very appreciated upgrade. Graphics are amazing – refresh rate is great. Really excited to continue to explore all that VIVE has to offer.

love automatic eye adjust
it’s pretty good. The video and sound quality are top notch, so no any extra gadgets and wires. The hand tracking is intuitive and visual passthrough is clear. Plus, I love that it automatically adjusts for your eyes. Much simpler for my son and daughter to use.” I want to try some AAA steam contents, I need to upgrade my PC first.

Great VR Headset
I am not a gamer. I bought this for my son in law who is very much into video games, and I’ll paraphrase him for this review. I hope this helps anyone who is looking into this:Getting the headset set up won’t be hard for anyone who regularly uses a PC. Games look amazing on it. Hand tracking works great. The pass through is clear and after you adjust to it, it more or less feels like you’re looking through a window, no warping. The hot swappable battery is great for when you’re in the middle of a game and don’t want to stop.

Super easy and fun!
Focus Vision is pretty easy to get it set up. I’m personally really interested in being able to express myself in VR, especially with the automatic IPD feature for your eyes. You just put on the headset, stare at a blue dot for a few seconds, and the headset adjusts the lenses to match your eyes and make sure everything looks clear. This feature alone is a godsend when you’re sharing the headset between 4 people.TLDR; we’re all loving this purchase, easy to share and tons of fun. We have to fight over who gets to use it!

This product perfectly suits my requirements especially when traveling.
I got this Virtual Reality set to watch movies when I’m out of the house.I travel a lot and I prefer a theater experience when I’m watching movies instead of on an ipad or phone. The effect is really amazing to be able to have a huge screen in front of you, and the image is clear. This set has a slot for a SD card so you can download movies or shows to it and watch them on the go.

VR Done Right — love this thing!
Setting up the headset was easy. 5K resolution of 2448 x 2448 pixels per eye is great – visuals are very clear. The hot swappable battery is very convenient. HTC VIVE’s website says the battery lasts up to 2 hours, and so far so good. I also like how the headset stays cool after a few games and doesn’t have loud noise. It’s my first VR headset, and I know it’s not easy to build a premier headset. I’m pretty happy with my purchase.

Wonderful upgrade !
This is the successor to the Focus 3 VR headset that I’ve been using for the past two years… with lots more features added in now !!The auto IPD feature is fantastic; mechanical adjustments feel outdated. Just look at the little blue dot for three seconds, and you’ll have a clear view.My free cable is on the way! I can’t wait to get it and test out my content.

Upgraded from XR Elite as I wanted to get deeper into PCVR. The DisplayPort feature is an awesome addition, a PCVR headset without compromising visual quality whilst being able to also be portable, a great hybrid.Lenses were better than I expected specially with the automatic ipdI just wish the charger was USB C!

Super Comfortable and Impressive Tech!
Wow, this thing absolutely rocks! my kids and I were taking turns playing VR baseball and soccer and loving every second of it. One of the coolest things is that it adjusts to your eyes. I can hand it to my kids and it will automatically match their eyesight when they put it on. I haven’t seen other products on the market that can do that. Plus, you can wear glasses with it on.

HTC Vive auto-IPD is great!!
The auto-IPD is great. I can share the headset with my wife and friends easily. The visuals are super clear (love 5K across both eyes), and I love the mixed reality mode. I feel a bit of weight, but the head strap makes it very comfortable. After playing a few games, the headset still feels cool, and the sound quality is great – very immersive. I can’t wait to try more games with it.

5 Stars!
The visuals are sharp and clear – love color-passthrough. Auto-IPD is also a plus – it works better than I thought. It made our game night easier and more fun for everyone – no need to adjust lenses when we took turns. This is a premier headset for regular consumers, and I think the price is reasonable with the features it offers.

Took them a moment
I preordered my HMD and late to mid November 2024 they have finally sorted out the softwareb on the headset, it now works properly on wireless and is a decent experience.Coming from a long time Index user. This headset is fairly comfortable, eye tracking works well and the add on for mouth tracking also works, you do need VRCFT and the Vive Vision plugin off Vive’s GitHub.I mostly run VRC but I also play rhythm games with it.The light blocking is outstanding.Hand tracking works but have not used too much.Speakers are clear but do not have a huge amount of bass.People say my mic sounds good.Overall build quality is nice although not a fan of the controllers but I use my Index Knuckles alongside it with (Open Space Calibrator from Pushrax makes the magic)The sweet spot on the optics is nothing to write home about, but its not too much different from the Index.Face gasket is nice but could really use a cooling fan when things get active to avoid fog.I will note I’m running the headset on a Triband Wifi 7 router on 6GHz.It has been good enough for me to buy a second battery and look forward to many more hours.

It’s a good wired headset
For context I have index controllers to pair with this and preordered this on htc website so I have the streaming kit that came with it.First, the Vive streaming app is horrible and took several hours of research to figure out why it keep crashing.Secondly, it’s heavily dependent on a pc so do not get this if you plan on doing standalone. Quest 3 would be better suited for that.Pros:Great colors, pretty good built in audio drivers, perfect DisplayPort connection when the app recognizes that your headset is connected. It balances out the weight pretty well.Cons:I have gotten prescription lenses for this headset and it seems to block the eye tracking most of the time. This headset struggles a bit with dark scenes. I dislike that when it comes to horror games personally. Wireless feature kind of sucks.Overall, I like this headset for the reason I got it, which is the display port connector. I recommend this to anyone who wants a better version of the index headset for the most part. Definitely not in a state to be used wireless or standalone.
