Best monitoring I’ve had so far but
I’ve been using an ultra wide monitor for the past few years and I really like it. I can’t go back to a normal 16:9 aspect ratio. This OLED monitor is really something else, you have to see it to believe it. The colors look very good compared to LG c3 TV. I’ve seen other reviews stating that the screen is not bright enough. From what I can tell it’s plenty bright as long as you have control of the lighting in your room. I find the brightness perfect in which it does not give me a headache from looking at it for many many hours. I have noticed if you have any lights on behind you it will reflect off the screen. But overall this is the best monitor I’ve had I’m very happy with the purchase. After using it for three and a half weeks I have now started having eye pain and headaches. I have the brightness turned way down, the color temperature on warm. No matter what settings I have it on I still get headaches.

Decent but not amazing
I’ve been scouting for the very best OLED curved, ultra wide, gaming monitor and thought this was going to be my stop. It’s not. Sadly it’s not because I really had high hopes for this monitor based on all the reviews.I use a Mac and a PS5 and the text isn’t as bad as people say but it’s not great. It’s not super blurry in some cases. It’s basically like old school type write text. Not horrid but for the price you expect better. For gaming it’s good but it doesn’t get as bright as I’d like. The curve is great for the distance I like to sit away from the monitor (about arms length). It’s immersive and good for gaming and watching movies. For productivity/work it’s ok but also not great. Text is where you look forward to the greatness of the display here but it just falls short and it’s just a bit underwhelming for what you pay for this.Last thing – the matte finish is ok, not bad. Definitely prefer a glossy finish over this one but I can see the value in this finish for bright lit rooms. It’s actually the best matte finish I’ve ever seen.TLDR:The brightness on this model was supposed to be superior to the previous model but it’s still underwhelming.Text isn’t bad but also underwhelming.Gaming is responsive, colors are decent but they don’t pop, they dont’ stand out. They’re regular OLED level and really didn’t wow me the way QD OLED Samsung/Alienware models have.My overall rating is: Underwhelming. 5/10Would only recommend when the price drops for this

Read before you buy
I’m coming from a 27″ flat 165hz 1440p ips gsync monitor that I used for 7 years, and this monitor has truly blown me away like no other, the immersion is unreal. Incredibly vivid colors and crazy fast. Absolutely recommend! One minor issue tho is the vrr flicker but it’s common with all oled and is only noticeable in certain games and scenes but it never took me out of the immersion, buy it!

Perfect monitor
I just got this beauty. First impressions; oled is the way. Can’t really tell you about burn in but in the setting there are ways to help future proof it. If you buy this you have a 2 year warranty on everything even the oled screen so what is not to like. So far this is the perfect monitor.

Well done, LG.
Extremely solid monitor. Disappointing it’s not fully G-Sync Certified. Motion blur & ghosting is very good, although not BenQ DyAc+ level. Which is surprising considering this is a W-OLED panel, meaning instant color changes. Blacks are perfectly black and whites are good, whites should be brighter. Panel is technically capable of 1000 nits in very small amounts. HDR should be monitor level, not in conjunction with Windows HDR, because Windows HDR is awful at the moment. Aggressive chromatic aberration on yellows, I almost prefer it.

Wild!
It’s difficult to put into words how incredible this monitor is. I spent a good deal of time researching multiple curved monitors and landed on this one. Refresh rate is unreal and the g-sync capabilities really do make a difference. If you’re on the fence, just try it and disregard the reviews about pixel density. My eyes rest at about 30 in at center and I seriously can’t see any issue.I’ve also read complaints about text being fuzzy but I have it noticed any issues during my workflow and gaming experiences with this monitor. The curve is really something else and I got used to it immediately. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to play video games on anything else ever again!I have since returned this one and went with the 45 inch Ultragear because I was so impressed with the smaller one!

Quite an incredible monitor, well worth it.
It’s wide, it’s tall, it’s curved, what’s not to love about it. The contrast on this monitor is insane, and so is the picture

Beautiful OLED screen!
I’m loving this monitor so far! The 27″ form factor is perfect for my 40″ desk. The colors are bright and vibrant despite having a matte coating. I actually prefer having matte to reduce glare (got a window right behind me). I can’t comment on the stand that came with the monitor though because I mounted it on my own stand right away, which saves a lot of desk space.I love the RGB lighting on the back!! It produces a soft glow around the monitor that looks very nice in a dimly lit room (as seen in my photo). I was planning on getting LED strip lights but feel like that’s not necessary anymore. One common complaint I see is about “text fringing” due to the new subpixel layout on 27″ OLEDs in general, not just LG. I was so worried about it that I got an LCD monitor before this one. I ended up returning it because I didn’t like the display (washed out colors) and took a chance on the OLED. I’m glad I did because the text fringing is barely an issue for me. Yes, I can see it if I sit up reeaaaalllly close to the monitor or if the text is tiny. From a normal viewing distance, it doesn’t impact me at all. Things like reading web pages and documents and chatting in MMO games are all perfectly fine to me.There’s some vertical banding, but it’s only present on a gray background. In normal content/usage I don’t see it. Most OLEDs have it to some degree, so I don’t really mind.LG now offers a 2-year warranty for screen burn-in (info is on their website). That gives me a peace of mind if I see burn-in anytime soon.Overall, I recommend trying out this monitor if you’re thinking about it! Gaming and watching movies on it has been a delight.

A huge improvement over the 27GR95QE-B.
The brightness has been almost doubled in some cases. SDR brightness potential has improved by over 50% which in this case is over 100nits brighter.I have a colorimeter in which I could do a hardware based calibration. With a 10% window the GR model achieved 209 nits where as the new GS model achieved 326 nits.In HDR, some other person measured 1185 nits in a 2% window. Here the GR model only measured around 600 nits. Some a little over & some a little under at this 2% window size.Colors still look fantastic. Every bit as good as the GR model. This is true in both SRGB mode for desktop & gamer 1 for HDR movies & such. These are the 2 best modes. They just so happen to also be the 2 brightest modes unlike the older GR model. Here the 2 brightest modes don’t suffer any blue push & deliver very much of the artist intent unlike the brightest modes on the GR model.SDR modes don’t have any Automatic brightness limits at least as far as running on the low or off peak brightness settings with a full white screen. On the high peak brightness setting, you may not notice any ABL activity but if you change it to the low peak brightness it become obvious that there is some limiting going on. You actually have to change the setting to notice this though so you will not likely notice in real usage. There is no ABL activity at all in low or off peak brightness settings. Some people like gamer 2 I have read elsewhere due to the extra color saturation. Colors pop more in gamer 2. There is a slight blue push though in gamer 2. I don’t recommend anyone use Vivid or HDR Effect. This is not real HDR & it looks horrible. All in all it is most definately a worthy update & I wholeheartedly recommend it. Thank you.

Love the curve on this screen, the black blacks, colors that pop! Only way to make this one better will be whenever a UHD version comes out for higher rez than the QHD.

Absolute Love
I Upgraded from an LG 83A-B IPS 144hz 1440p monitor to this. The color depth is amazing. I upgraded my computer, and honestly, it deserved this monitor. I agree with a lot of people: the monitor is almost more important than your graphics card. I gave my old one to my roommate, and he is very stoked to use it. Coming from a 32-inch ultrawide 1080p, he is blown away by the colors and clarity on this monitor.I do not use this monitor for long internet sessions, i use it for gaming, and when i step away from my desk for any reason, I use the remote to turn the monitor off. I also use it for light college homework online. I make sure that I do the pixel and image cleaning once a day, if not more when I am using it.I am hoping with this, and LG’s other care settings that this monitor will last me for years, I typically use it less than 24 hours per week.

One of the best monitors available, as of 2024.
This is an all around great product. LG OLED panels do not disappoint, and honestly, they’re probably the only company I trust to buy OLEDs from. Aside from amazing picture quality, the performance does just as well. This monitor pairs nicely with my 3080 Ti, and you can really feel the speed and responsiveness from 240hz 0.2 response time with very low input lag. The only thing I don’t like about this monitor is the side by side mode kinda sucks. The image quality drops substantially with two different screens at the same time, and the pip mode doesn’t make up for it. But hey, I got this thing half off, so you won’t hear me complaining. I got a dang good deal for a dang good product and I couldn’t be happier. Keep in mind that the 45″, 39″ and 34″ all have the same specs, but the 34″ has better pixel density because it isn’t stretched out like the other two monitors. The 34″ is what I would recommend if you want the best picture quality here.

Don’t listen to people and buy it!
My previous monitor was a normal VA 1440p screen from LG. I took about 3 days to make a decision on what monitor to get, I knew I wanted an Oled, 240hz or more, and 1440p.I work from home and I play competitive FPS games (Apex, COD, Rainbow 6, and Overwatch 2).Let me tell you, I do not regret buying this! I have a decent rig 4080, 7950x, 32 gb ddr5 and I am still getting 200 plus frames in most of the games that I play. And if I wanted to get really sweaty I still have the option to play at 16:9 or 16:10 with the black bars on the side, given that it’s an oled it doesn’t really bother me.Now the image quality on this display is amazing! A lot of other reviews from people where saying that this monitor should have been 4k but at that point you won’t really get the full 240hz ability, even with a very strong gpu.The monitor does have a matte finish but as you can see in the images my monitor is Infront of a window but even when my room is lit the image quality is still bright and there are no problems to view. When viewing texts I honestly don’t think it’s as bad as people make it up to be. You can read it plain and simple and if you are upgrading this from an old panel or a 1080 p I guarantee you it’s going to look better or maybe as good. So don’t let that be a point from preventing you from getting this.I do want to mention I did get this monitor on Sale, I see that LG frequently drops the price on this so I would say keep an eye but if drops below 1100 pull the trigger and get this thing! The other option if you want more connectivity (USB C display) is the ASUS PG34WCDM but you are going to be paying around 1400 usd after taxes. If you are a big baller I would say go for that one, it’s beautiful. However, this one is still very good looking and the stand it comes with appears to be more sturdy and more cable manageable.

As described
A great monitor. The only thing I will point out that I didn’t care/affected me that much is that the lower PPI on the 39-inch version is definitely noticeable. Also, when using G-sync there does seem to be minor flickering but that only occurs during loading screens from games but that is about it. Overall, it’s a beautiful monitor with a matte screen and oled.

Phenomenal monitor
This monitor uses the same panel as the GS95 btw, I’m coming from IPS and VA panels and the colors on this thing are amazing, and it’s literally night and day difference the panel is so flat it looks like it’s on the wall. Also the price is great especially considering how much Oleds cost, refresh rate is fantastic and there’s no blue at all. No speakers but there is a headphone jack, the sharpness is crisp and clear. Worth every penny, don’t be afraid to get this monitor!!!

Console compatibility, quality, & setup
When you first set this up keep in mind you have to tweak some settings such as turning off power saving mode. It’s OLED so if you game with the curtains open you’re not gonna get the most out of the monitor. It performs really well with my Xbox series x & I have yet to test it with my ps5 but I imagine it’ll look better on that. I would’ve gave it 5 stars but the only thing I didn’t like was the height adjustment. I would’ve really liked to have it lowered almost down to the base but I didn’t look at the pictures so that’s on me. My personal opinion, you’re really getting your moneys worth out of this monitor. It’s my first high end monitor so I may be blinded by that fact, but the the difference between my $170 LG monitor & this $600 one is almost night & day. Definitely recommend for multiplatform gamers. I watched a little Netflix on it & the picture is clear af

Top Notch Widescreen gaming.
For anyone looking to get the LG45GS95QE u derstand that this monitor is at its most optimal at gaming, movies (entretaiment) and in darker areas of the room. Is not the best for editing and or working on projects. Mostly due to the curved as it makes the straight lines feel wonky. Besides that, try to get it when is only on discout. I have no regrets on getting this monitor. Is price at $1000k when discounted, but is worth every penny.

Does its job really well! (Maybe a little to well…)
This was a last minute purchase for me, but man I don’t regret it. The monitor is easy to use and hook up without fuss, and the pictures always look amazing! However, my main issue is with the device’s HDR functionality… as it’s really strict and leave little room for adjusting the settings. Thus wouldn’t be an issue if these preset settings didn’t make the image look a little distorted with more intense colors than normal.

Good: Will keep updated if changes.
Clean setup. Comes with HDMI and DP cables. All cables are in white. Including power/USB/HDMI/DPEasy to setup. Good color. Default profile on setup is game 1 — It has somewhat blurry text IMO — All other video profiles don’t. Lots of adjustment in height, turn, tilt. Overall 10/10 so far. I love that they make this monitor with white, it is exactly like the black version other than that, super clean/mac look.My purchase price for this monitor on 10/17/2024 was $999 — It was far below MSRP. I include this because knowing might help you decide if you are getting a good deal or not.Should any problems arise rest assured I will absolutely update this review to reflect that. If it is still 5 stars when you are reading this, I had no issues.

Truly astonishing OLED experience
To start: The things people say that are bad about this monitor as very big nitpicks.I’ll start by saying, I took my hand in the refurbished “OLED” gamble on Ebay. Ordered the MSI 360hz OLED and the glossy screen did not fit my environment well. Was hard to get past the reflections. I also will say, QD-OLED vs. this matte LG 34″ OLED is a no contest for me. I have better visuals, the curve is just perfect for my case use. Text is not as blurry as people say on this monitor. Overall, a great experience, especially on sale. Snagged it for $680 NEW which is unbeatable. If you’re considering this monitor, give it a shot.

(Just don’t expect text to be clear at this size/resolution/subpixel structure)- 240Hz refresh rate is fast enough to stay relevant gaming for several years to come- Crazy low response time/input lag- Aggressive curve let’s your eyes see to all 4 corners easier (A must for most people at these sizes)- Size and curve gives excellent immersion while gaming!- USB ports are nice- Thin bezels and sexy design- Nice adjustable stand allows for good viewing angles- Since it’s LG (King of WOLED panels), I trust it not to get burn-in anytime soon- Plenty of input ports- Resolution good enough for some general use (especially if you’re coming from 1080p or 1920×1200)- Well-packaged and protected (I was so scared of it coming damaged, and the box certainly was, but it was in perfect condition)- Comes with high quality cables (nVidia)- Anti-glare coating reduces glare..ishCons (I knew all these going in and didn’t have any surprises)- Resolution (3440×1440) is not something to write home about and keeps things kind of insultingly big when scaled at 100% especially if you’re used to 4k. Wish it were at least 5120×1440 for daily usability/work, but less pixels is easier for my laptop 3080 GPU to push higher quality game visuals and that’s what I really got this for- WOLED subpixel structure and the resolution means that text clarity is just Ok (With Microsoft ClearType) (but terrible for text design and extensive text usage)- Expensive, but you already know that, and the market is what it is (I bought on Prime days 10-13-24 for ate twen tea forr)- Stand could have better viewing angles (I’d prefer to have this on a stand and be able to tilt it downward more, but I could buy an adjustable arm to put it on)- Some people may want it to include a KVM, but I’m fine without since it’s just for my gaming rig- One button on bottom back of monitor a bit awkward to use (wish it had a remote!)- Annoying things that are just part of having an OLED monitor like having to let it run through it’s 2 hour “OLED Image Cleaning” cycle, having to use more aggressive screensaver/sleep/shutdown settings to prevent burn-in, etc.- Lack of Dolby Vision that all LG OLED TVs come with (that would be nice for some games!)- Anti-glare coating is liked by some, but it does rob you of some of OLED’s image quality lifting blacks a bit (Unfortunately, if you go with an LG OLED TV it’ll have the beautiful glossy screen, higher 4K resolution , much taller depending on size, and no curve to help view the edges and make a much more immersive experience!)

Best Oled screen I’ve used!
This is one of the prettiest screen I’ve used! The picture is solid and gaming is perfect since I’m more of a darker kind of guy, I like old school games! It’s also nice having speakers in the screen. I believe this is #1 for 2024 screens. Just trust me, solid Oled!

Painful to have to return this, but the tech isnt ready for my use case
Let me start by saying that this monitor is ALMOST perfect for me. 32 inches, matte coating, OLED, minimalist “non-gamer” design language, high refresh rate and response timings….The two things that killed this monitor FOR ME are that the monitor is not bright enough in well lit rooms, the monitor looks substantially dimmer than other IPS monitors. This needs to be improved on future generations of OLED monitors. The other reason and this was the true killer for me, was that text looks HORRIBLE on this monitor. I am a programmer and I was looking for a monitor that I could use for both productivity and programming. Let me just say that it’s downright painful to look at text on this monitor, text looks smudged, desktop icon text appears all sorts of different colors due to the sub-pixel layout of this display. It’s really, really bad. Theres no possible way I could use this monitor for productivity work. I did try installing software like “mactype” that is supposed to help, I tried adjusting monitor settings, doing a firmware update…. Nothing helped enough. All that being said, this is close to being the perfect monitor for gaming. The blacks are of course dark, the picture is impeccable… It’s just so unfortunate that once you exit the game and go to your desktop you feel like you are using a $100 monitor instead of a $1400 monitor.I can’t bring myself to go lower than 4 stars because the monitor really is so good if all you plan to do on it is game, but for many people that isn’t what computing is all about. I have confidence that these issues can be fixed in future generations of the monitor, and I will be waiting for those models before upgrading to OLED.

Dim, but good enough on sale.
Text looks fine, but that’s not why you get this anyway, is it?The monitor looks great. It’s about the same height as a 27”, so it felt natural to transition. It just kinda feels like a 27” with more field of view. The colors are great, I LOVE having the full resolution and refresh rate over HDMI, something I was looking for to make easier use of the elgato 4k x, but all this comes at one major caveat. This thing is not worth its full retail price. I got mine for like $750 on sale. This has I think like 300 nit peak brightness which is criminally low for something that even MENTIONS HDR, even if it’s one of the “HDR’nt” specs. It is noticeably dim, so dim I had to turn my $200 secondary monitor’s brightness down to like 70% because it was distractingly brighter. Contrast is still fine because it IS still an OLED, but compared to the 77” C2 I have literally touching it on the left side, I mean… this monitor is less than half the size, 1440p, and retails for like half the price, and it’s less than a third of the brightness? Yes, it’s curved and yes it’s 240hz but there’s no way around the problem that is the value proposition. At full price you’ve got some steep competition.I don’t regret it for the sale price, it still looks GOOD, but as someone who doesn’t return things ever, I would’ve if I paid over a grand for this.

Everything I wanted from a gaming monitor
This is probably the best gaming monitor I have ever had. I reviewed the last iteration of this line, the 27GR last year and while it was good, I’m glad the GS fixes every problem I had with the GR. The brightness levels are great (even on 75% which is what I’m using) the picture is clear and the HDR works great. Add in a great price and awesome delivery time and I’m super happy with this.

Amazing Monitor!!!
Here’s my quick review. This is my first 34 Inch curved ultrawide monitor. I’m upgrading from a LG 27 Inch 144hz monitor. My first impressions, the curve is extremely aggressive and the stand protrudes it out more. Don’t get me wrong, the stand is nice but I decided to use my old monitor arm. My first problem arose when there were some noticeable vertical banding on screen. I thought the monitor was damage but I ended up running the pixel cleaning option and that fixed the problem. Other than that, I’m in love with this monitor. Amazing colors, deep blacks and full immersive experience. You can’t go wrong with this monitor.

Great Ultrawide, Some Caveats
The Great:1. OLED – color vibrancy, basically infinite contrast, HDR, response time.2. Ultrawide – makes games more cinematic and allows for more things to fit on screen for productivity.3. 800R Curve – makes first and third person games very immersive. The Caveats:1. Text Clarity in Windows – much worse than LCDHas different subpixel layout than LCD, so text clarity in Windows is just not optimized for now. Can be substantially improved with MacType or Nvidia’s DSR. But it will still lack in clarity compared to 3rd gen QD-OLEDs, and especially LCD at this ppi.2. 800R – It’s very aggressiveWhenever you focus on only one part of the monitor at a time, the experience is great. Whenever you actually need to look around and focus on edges, things get disorienting due to inherent distortion. 21:9 video also appears distorted, because it is.3. OLED – it degradesYou might want to optimize usage for more uniform degradation. However, it will take a substantial amount of time on for it to actually matter. And there are features to help with it built in.Conclusion:Amazing monitor for gaming and content consumption. Poor choice for productivity due to aggressive curve and uneven degradation on static elements, also poor text clarity in Windows.

Great Monitor once setup correctly
When you get this you may initially may be let down… Trust me when I say that once you get this tuned up its an amazing display. I say tuned, because OLEDs and LG In general have a calibration tool so saying “calibrated” is to me, confusing. So I say “tuned’. LG’s decision to have “game modes” in place of more normal “display mode” nomenclature is puzzling. I wanted to knock another star off for that, but honestly once I got it dialed, Its really stunning. So why the lacking of one star? Well, here’s why: LG’s ALB is far too aggressive in HDR and simply not adjustable. Its really bad.ALB = Auto Light Balance. Its a thing all OLED’s have, which is to “dim” the screen when it senses an overly high brightness to keep heat and burn-in at bay. I have 2 LG displays, one is a 27inch (and cost nearly $1000 more than this one), and it doesnt have the quirks this does, however it also doesnt do 240hz (or 480hz in 1080p).NOTE: The issue is not persistent in SDR mode, which you can set to be honestly better than HDR.Hopefully LG can firmware update the monitor to fix the ALB.While non-hdr could have been a deal breaker, figuring out that SDR is equal and many cases better, I am VERY happy with this monitor. Its bright, colorful, black is BLACK, and 240hz in 4k is awesome. I had the Sam Neo8 before this and sent it back due to it not having the deep blacks that OLEDs should have, and honestly was very dim in general compared to this monitor. LGs WOLED is simply superior to the QDOLED technology that Samsung uses.Asus has a OLED thats made with this same panel, more expensive and is calibrated properly out of the box.

LG 39GS95QE Ultragear OLED Monitor BUEN PRODUCTO.

Not perfect, could be better
Coming from a 30″ 2560×1600@60Hz monitor, figured I would upgrade to OLED HDR 4K@240Hz. I game a bit, so figured the 240Hz would be cool. OLED for the deeper blacks is a major plus. HDR for being able to see a bit better when gaming some of my darker games that support HDR is also a plus.My major grip about this monitor is that the brightness is not consistent (firmware upgrade makes it better, but does not resolve the issue), lets say that when something on the screen is highlighted, the rest of the screen changes brightness with the highlight. This issue only happens for frequencies above 60Hz (i.e. 140Hz, 240Hz), 60Hz seems stable. I usually do not notice this behavior with my 3D games at 240Hz. So this is sort of tolerable since I can switch frequencies depending on what I am doing…I have not fully qualified color accuracy yet, nor have I created a color profile yet. Though initial tests (maybe 20 minutes worth of checking out) with Lightroom seem to be positive since it supports HDR. Note my previous 30″ supported Adobe color space. All of my other grips are more about Windows HDR implementation. Like when leaving a full screen game, and then having to reset the HDR settings to get brightness back. Or when using multiple screens, the main screen dims when switching to another application.Update: Disabling G-sync will keep the brightness consistent at 140/240Hz.Update: There is a deep sleep option that you will want to disable, especially in a multi-monitor situation. Disable “Deep Sleep”, otherwise applications will shift to other monitors (if you have them), DPI settings will sometimes change for some applications, and applications will resize their window.

Great Oled Gaming Monitor
Spent so many hours reading and watching reviews of different oled monitors at 1440p. The other version of this has rgb accents on the back, near the vents. Other than that though, this monitor is identical in performance and saves you some money.Overall in games it gives a great experience. A con on oleds is brightness, and I actually end up turning the brightness down on different modes. Unless you want rgb or more frames, if you want a 1440p 240hz monitor, this is a perfect one to get.
