Great In Some Aspects, So-So in Others
EDIT: I had to bump this up to 4 stars because I remembered that this chair came with two sets of wheels: plastic casters for carpet and gentle rubber casters for hardwood floor. I’ve never purchased a chair from a manufacturer that went this extra mile and I love it. Every manufacturer should do this, no matter how cheap the chair is in my opinion.————————————————————I purchased this chair because I’ve always found mesh chairs to be far more comfortable than leather chairs due to the suspension. This chair definitely delivers in the suspension area. It was easy to assemble, but after using it for a couple weeks now, I have some gripes with the chair.1) The armrests are too easily shifted forward and backward, causing the chair to be come a wobbly mess if you need to brace yourself on the chair while you sit or rise. More of a minor annoyance than a major gripe.2) The lower back support provided by the back of the seat is just okay. I wish I could move the back piece of the chair farther forward, but I have it screwed in as far forward as it’ll go. As someone who suffers from chronic lower back pain, this is a bit of a concern for me down the road. We’ll see how I feel after a few months of use.3) This is the most important one for me. The mesh seat is nowhere near as comfortable as I had hoped, especially for the very expensive price tag. Yes, the chair has fabric mesh, but it is mostly woven plastic strings, which I find to be quite uncomfortable and rather rough on my clothes. Of course adding all this plastic to the seat of the chair helps the suspension factor and increases the longevity of the product, but the compromise is a bit of comfort and definitely on the texture.Overall, it’s a pretty stunning looking chair (the chrome is a nice aesthetic touch) and the recline adjustment is superb. But it lacks the comfort and softness I was looking for from a mesh desk chair. If the opportunity arose where I have the choice to buy this chair again, I think I’d pass. Not worth the $300 in my opinion.

The value for money LEADER!!
I have owned this chair for a bit over two months now. I had originally purchased the Razer Iskur because I wanted an ergonomic chair made of quality materials that didn’t cost $1000+. I ended up returning that chair because the seat was unbearable for me. I then moved on to purchase this chair for half the price and could not be happier!! I am pleasantly surprised at the quality of meshing, the attention to detail of the padding and how supportive the chair feels both upright and during recline. This lumbar support system is the first that I have been genuinely comforted by. I usually find them gimmicky or even uncomfortable but this chair’s lumbar support just fits into the groove of my back very well and really supports me. I know get what that’s supposed to feel like! There is one thing that I don’t like and others in these reviews have stated it before. The armrests don’t lock in position which is annoying. I never know how seriously to take people’s complaints since people are…people but that one is valid in my experience. It’s not so bad that it moves often while I am sitting in the chair but it happens enough that it’s a mild annoyance and something that should’ve been noticed during testing. It’s a weird omission to have but now that I am used to it and aware of it, I can be sure to not lean or push against the armrests in ways that will move them out of place. There is enough rigidity to the armrests that I don’t feel like it ruins the product for me.I think part of my contentment with this chair is how well it fits my body. The lumbar system in particular just feels like it’s in the right place. The depth and width of the chair seems really “right” to me as well. I’ll include my physical details below for comparison.Male, 25 yo, 210 lbs, 5’11”. I’ve been lifting 5+ days a week for a few years. Hope that helps.

Its the right chair for people less than 6ft and under 200lbs – well made and good lumbar.
I am 5’9″, weight 160lbs – this chair is perfect for small to medium height people, and is probably good for people up to 6ft and around 200lbs – which means this chair is perfectly sized for me. But I imagine anyone larger will feel this chair is too small and cramped. This chair has made a world of difference for me as it has almost completely eliminated all my back issues. I do have my feet propped up on a foot stool to help alleviate pressure from the weight of legs pulling lower back forward. I also have an extra lumbar pad added at the lower back area. I sit for 10 hours a day at my office chair and for years I have had back issues and honestly I never took a good approach to rectifying things until I really threw out my back in mid August. It took me a 6 weeks of therapy and nearly 10 weeks of full recovery time before I could trust my back again and not have any pain. I immediately reviewed 20 different chairs and took about a week before deciding on this one. And so far the choice has paid off. I am back to sitting at my desk again for 10 hours a day and at hour number 10 I can simply get up and walk away, walk downstairs, without issue, pain, stiffness or discomfort. This chair is doing the trick. One of the good points about this chair is the seat is only 18″ in depth – the actual usable part of the seat is about 16″ as the rear two inches curve below the upright portion of the chair. This what you want in a chair as this allows my knees to be about 3 inches from edge/end of the seat – chairs with too deep of seats force you to sit forward which removes your ability to actually use the chairs lumbar. No matter how good the lumbar/ergo is, it doesn’t matter if your lower back is inches from the upright support – which was my problem with my previous two chairs (but never did anything about it because it was just too much of an inconvenience.). When adding my own additional lumber pad support, it fills in the the gap of those two inches curving down giving a full lumbar support from seat to upright support and allows me to tuck my lower back into the full width/height of the upright part of the chair. Its a good chair, sturdy, well made, all the standard features (with seat tilt if you want it). Arm rests have multiple positions, heights and angles. Never had a head rest before and I do like it, just sitting back to take a break from the key board and I can close my eyes and rest my neck.I recommend this chair.

Well worth the money
**UPDATE**Today (10/06/2020) the back of the chair failed. The travel distance of the back rest is roughly 1″. This makes it very uncomfortable to sit in. I’ve checked all the options and I’m unable to get it back to how it previously was. I’m going to check with the seller to see if there is anything we can do to resolve the issue.Let me start by saying that I would typically never spend this kind of money on a chair but I’m glad that I did. I’m not only a software developer but an artist and Twitch streamer as well so the amount of time sitting at my desk is quite substantial. With that said there are a few improvements to the chair that would really make it stand out enough for me to order more and to suggest to my friends, family and viewers.Let’s start with some of the things that I would change. First off the arm rests do have a vertical lock but the adjustments to rotate the angle of the pads and the pad placement toward and away from the body while nice do not lock at all. I’ve found that getting up for a break often have to adjust the arm rest(s) almost each time I return. As for the material it would have been nice to see some gel or memory foam covers added to the contents of the package to show the company going a step above. As of now the arm supports are a harder and slightly padded but the construction is very durable. As for the comfort of the chair it is pretty good for someone 5’10” and a 160 lbs. I do wish that the chair went down just a little bit more vertically as it places pressure right around the outside base of my pants pockets. The mesh fabric is a nice change from the solid chairs that I’m used to and keeps me comfortable throughout the day. I would like to see better access for the controls and better placement too. Right now you have to lean back and look over the back of the arm rest to try to read the labels. Moving the controls more to the front would help avoid any strain. The base is solid and I was really happy to see this but the roller blade wheels? How have I lived without these on my other office chairs!? In my opinion (while they are not worth the cost of the chair) they beat the old caster wheels that would become broken or dirty over time and just not work.Something I would really like to see for creative types, streamers, etc. may be a headrest cover with the NOUHAUS logo, a few little perks like the arm rest pads I suggested earlier and better placement of the chair controls. Overall this is a really solid chair for the money and it looks great in my home office / studio. Most likely I’ll pick up another after comparing this to the DX Racer line.

High quality
I changed the review from a four to a three star. The person that I bought this for loves the chair. I decided to try it for a day and find that about 5 inches of the seat is unusable. I sat with my back firmly placed up against the lumbar support and my thighs are mostly unsupported. This is because about five inches of the rear of the seat bottom you can’t get to. I sat down as far to the rear that I can. I then placed a yellow towel where my bottom touched the seat. The entire area of the seat where you see the towel is unusable space. If I was able to sit back that far it would be great. This chair is very high quality. The base is a single-cast metal piece rather than the plastic of most other chairs. It looks like polished aluminum, though I’m not positive what metal it is. The chair is very comfortable and fairly supportive. Let me say why I say ‘fairly.’ The headrest is adjustable; however, it’s not adjustable toward you. it’s adjustable up and down and the angle. So, it’s only good if you’re lying back. It doesn’t even touch your head if you’re sitting up straight. Leaning back, I find that there isn’t enough resistance, even with the dial as tight as I can make it. I can only use it if the back is locked into position. it would be nice to lean back, but it just keeps going. For this price, I would expect the seat angle and the lumbar to be adjustable. They are not. It’s a very nice chair, and I’m happy ‘enough’ with it. It could have been awesome.

Well-built chair, just didn’t work for me.
Pretty impressive build quality for this price point. Unfortunately, the mesh seat numbed my butt after about 40 miutes.

Quality and comfort – a chair that will last
So far I am so glad I spent a little more than what I first intended. I found a great deal on this chair, but it was still more expensive than my initial price range. The look, quality, and comfort of this chair seem to be well worth it so far.I want to give extra credit and appreciation that the delivery of the chair was sooner than expected and early in the day. I was so ready to replace my old office chair.I wanted a chair that would support my back and the chair back has the lumbar support in the right place for me. I also wanted a chair that would give me comfort when sitting for long hours. My butt felt so good, as I settled into the seat. I didn’t want a large, cushy, leather chair, but more of a working office chair. I wanted a chair that would hold up over time and not have cushioning or material that would easily breakdown over time.My old office chair had the vented material for the back, but not the seat. I liked the venting on the back and felt that a vented seat would be good also. I never liked how seat padding seams to wear down over time. I had already added additional padded cushion to the old chair. I think that the seat on the new chair should hold up. We will see.I like that the chair back has adjustment so that it can recline and lock in place at a few different positions. It doesn’t go to a full recline, but I don’t want to fall asleep in my chair. The head rest is good for added support when working on the computer for hours. The head rest adjusts up and down, so you can find the best area on your head or neck you want to support. It does not adjust forward, but you can swivel it slightly up or down. The arm rests adjust up and down, as you would expect. The top also swivels in or out slightly. The arm pads are not soft and cushy. They have cushion, but it is firm. They should hold up over time. The chair comes with two sets of wheels. You can install the standard caster type wheels or the upgraded blade wheels. I choose to use the blade wheels. They make the chair roll easily on my laminate floor. They are smooth and quiet.Of course, you have seat height adjustment, as needed. With the blade wheels on, I think the seat height is perfect for me. But I am 5′ 6. I might raise it just a bit. A shorter person would probably want to use the caster wheels. The instructions are a bit weak on the explanation. I did have to remove a couple things after installing them. The gotchas are that there is an arrow next to the “Front” designation on the seat mechanism. The R/L arm rest designation refers to when the chair is upright and not in the upside down installation position. The chair was packed in a manageable box and all the parts were packed very well. Many of the parts were packed firmly in foam. The bolts were in a plastic package and they gave you one extra of each size/type.Overall, I think this is the best working office chair that I have used, both in the office and working from home.

A Review Written From the Sublime Comfort of the NOUHAUS Ergo3D
The headline certainly reveals my thoughts on this chair so I will give my “too long; didn’t read” version right below, but I will also go into some more depth below that for those of you more discriminating readers.TL;DR – Supremely comfortable, build quality is excellent, very easy to put together (10-15mins max), great range of adjustability/range of motion, total game-changer for anyone who spends a lot of time sitting at a computer, etc. I have absolutely no regrets spending $300 on this chair.Full version:Firstly, let me point out that I RARELY write reviews for products. I can probably count the number of product reviews I have written on one hand. That’s not because I don’t like taking the time to support businesses that make good products, it’s mainly because it’s pretty hard to exceed my expectations and most products just meet expectations by doing what exactly what I wanted, no more and no less.My expectations for this chair were, naturally, pretty high considering the price tag but I frankly did not expect to be this satisfied and amazed at the difference any chair could make. As someone who is now working from home until further notice during the present COVID outbreak of 2020, I needed something better than what I had and this chair is an absolute game-changer in that regard. Here are my thoughts in summar:1) Comes well packaged and with well-written, simple instructions which make it very easy to put together (10-15 minutes max)2) Build quality is excellent. All the parts that should be metal/reinforced are and even the plastic parts that need to be plastic for lightness are of good quality. One more specific thing I noticed that goes to the quality of the parts is that the hardware included comes with pre-applied loctite thread locker (which is essentially a paste on the bolts which help keep them from coming loose over time after installation). In and of itself it isn’t that important and is far from necessary on parts like chairs that live a pretty easy life (as opposed to, say, suspension components on vehicles, for example, which usually require loctite). HOWEVER, it’s not common on products like this and it is a nice touch that I think suggests more attention to detail/quality for this product. It also shows that NOUHAUS isn’t necessarily trying to cut costs wherever they can.3) It is supremely comfortable! At first I had doubts about the mesh material used for the seat and back of the chair, compared to the more traditional cushion style, but after spending several hours straight without moving at all in this chair during work I can report it is all-around great. The fact I can sit in it that long without moving at all to adjust speaks to that point because I have to do that every so often when sitting in inferior chairs. The range of adjustability and movement of the chair to allow reclining and really any sitting style is impressive as well.Overall I’m completely pleased with the purchase and don’t regret spending so much money on this chair whatsoever (currently priced at $300). I’m glad I treated myself to this thing and the only thoughts I have now are why the hell I didn’t get something like this sooner to take better care of myself!

Great Chair, But Better Suited For Smaller People
I’ve had the chair for about a year and a half, and I finally decided to replace it, so I thought I would write a review. I had upgraded from a very cheap, old office chair when I began working from home. I wanted something that was going to be comfortable for sitting in for 8+ hours a day. Assembly was easy enough, and the chair looks great, especially with the roller blade wheels. The first day I used it was awful. My body was so sore, and I actually considered returning it, but I had read that it takes some time for your body to adjust when you’re used to sitting in a bad chair. Eventually I got used to it, and it definitely made my back feel so much better. (I have always had a bad habit of slouching) It forces you to sit in a more upright position. Once I got used to it, it was extremely comfortable. The mesh makes sitting for hours very easy, and I loved the lumbar support. However, over time I began to notice things I didn’t like about it. While I love the look of the armrests, they’re super hard. I ended up buying soft covers to go over them. Most importantly, though, I began to notice that the hard plastic sides of the seat were digging into my thighs. It’s designed such that it kind of curves upward to hold the mesh. This wouldn’t be a problem for anyone smaller than me, but I am by no means a large person. 5’5” and an average female build. The seat itself is actually quite narrow compared to other office chairs. It’s also not as deep as I would prefer. I got a chair cushion, and that solved the problem of the plastic digging into my thighs, but it raised me up such that the lumbar support no longer hit my back where it needed to.Finally, and maybe this is a little nitpicky, but I hate the plastic arc that sticks out of the back of the chair. I recently moved, but my old workspace was kind of tight, and the back of the chair was constantly bumping into things. It was an expensive chair, and it’s well made, so I felt bad for wanting to replace it after only a year and a half, but ultimately having a chair that works better for me will be better for my body in the long run.If you’re under 5’5” or you’re very thin I think this is a great chair, and it’s solid budget alternative to a Herman Miller chair. You’ll be able to sit for 8 hours no problem. But if you’re larger or taller, you might want to look elsewhere.

Herman Miller Quality and Features for Half the Price
I love this chair. I’ve used it nearly every day for two months now, and bang for buck, this was a great purchase that I would make again.I work at a desk in my home office from 8:00am to 5:30-6:00pm every weekday, so I knew I needed to get a comfortable, ergonomic chair that wouldn’t exacerbate my posture or hurt my body from just being in it with my sedentary job. I didn’t need a super fancy-looking chair, but neither did I want an eye-sore. I also knew wanted something with great quality, first and foremost, and next had some solid and comfortable ergonomic features. This chair meets all these requirements.I cannot understate how much the roller blade wheels change my life. I am never going back. These things are silent, smooth, and can go over nearly any material. I don’t have to push as hard or as much to move. I have poured concrete floors in my office, but see that long-haired rug in the photos? You bet your bottom dollar that this baby can roll smoothly from the concrete and over onto the rug it without getting stuck or having to push/pull for significant drag and it blew my mind the first time. The arm rest positioning is quite customizable: the pads can turn inward and outward, slide forward or back, as well as move up and down. The arm rest pads have a little soft give to them but are fairly firm. The headrest piece goes up and down as well as tilts forward or back. You could even decide not to install, if you didn’t need or love it, and I think it wouldn’t significantly detract from the chair’s aesthetics (just two simple drill holes in the back). The composite plastic-fabric material (“ElastoMesh”) is super breathable and would be so easy to clean if I ever did spill anything on it. My body (well, butt, really) does not feel like it sinks in to the seat any more or less than a normal office chair. (Phone for scale in the chair seat picture is an old Apple iPhone 6S Plus.) In fact, I think the tensile stress of this fabric gives me a slight spring, bounce and energy when I sit in it, which I actually prefer now to a soft, dense, lethargic piece of foam. The mesh fabric is soft to the touch with light pressure, and grippy with string-like friction with hard pressure. I’ve never had a problem with the textile. At first I was concerned that the lower lumbar piece was not adjustable, but it’s quite supportive with this unique mesh and strong curvature. I’m 5’6″ and the shape of the back contours quite naturally to me by default. I could imagine someone much bigger though possibly needing to adjust this or the whole back piece up from the seat. This would be my ONLY critique about the chair.I usually sit and have the chair tilted fully upright, but one could have this unlocked to smoothly dip back with pressure. You can also lock the tilt so it stays as your preferred angle. I feel fine (good, even) sitting in this chair for long periods of time, even though I do try to get up and move often. I’ve never felt pain standing up from it.This chair was better than most options I saw at an Office Depot. Most other corporate offices I’ve worked in had Herman Miller furniture, and I would say this chair could go head to head with their Aeron or Mirra designs in terms of quality and functionality.

Best for neck/back problems!
So I have a neck and low back fusion, both knees replaced, fibromyalgia and arthritis. I still have a lot of neck pain after long office hours and realized needing an ergonomic chair (and desk) was what would reduce my neck and shoulder pain. After getting my measurements for what an ergonomic chair would need to be and after reading reviews, I chose this chair. I’ll spend HOURS reading reviews before throwing quite a bit of $ down on something. The only real negative review I saw was this chair wasn’t for tall people. So my review: first thing I noticed when I sat in it was the lumbar support. Never have I sat in a chair that supported my low back so well. The headrest adjusts in 2 different ways: vertically and then outward. It supports my head and neck better than anything too. I ended up using the roller blade wheels since I have hardwood and with those, I didn’t have to use my plastic office mat. I got a ergonomic desk so I liked that I was able to adjust the arms of the chair to accommodate. With my health issues, I’m always judging every chair I sit in. This one, by far, is the best one. And after spending an ungodly amount of office hours in it in April & May this year, I was pretty amazed at how much less my neck, shoulder and back pain was! I didn’t have the stiffness I usually have after sitting for hours at a time. The fact that the chair accommodates a good range for ergonomic measurements (because not all other chairs did, especially how low the chair could sit) as well as the quality of the chair (100%), I’ve referred this chair to everyone!I also like the fact that I can recline in it and be incredibly comfortable if I want to game some too 😉The only suggestion I’d have for this chair is the option to drop the arms down completely (as in, not having arm rests) rather than having to take them off the chair completely.I was nervous at first paying this much for a CHAIR, but it has been, by far, the best investment I’ve made. It has allowed me to be more productive since I’m in less pain and because of that, has made sleeping at night much easier!

Uncomfortable and Unadjustable
There are a number of issues with this chair:1. The seat is really narrow. I’m not a large person (male 5’10, 190lb) and my hips are not particularly wide, but I was resting on the two hard rails that the mesh seat is attached to. This seems inexcusable since the rest of the chair seems sized for a typical person. I’ve sat in other chairs (like the Hyken chair from staples or the workpro 9000 from office depot) that were mesh bottom and fit me just fine. This is the primary reason I returned the chair.2. The lumbar support is very aggressive and cannot be adjusted. I ended up tying some rope to it to pull it back and give a more neutral back. This sort of worked.3. The seat back only locks at 90 and 45 degrees. I’m not sure in what situation you would want to lock a chair at 45 degrees, but many where you’d want to lock it just a little back from 90. My previous ikea chair ($150 vs $300+) locked every 5-10 degrees or so which is sensible. This is somewhat mitigated by a very good spring system for leaning back. This is perhaps the first chair I’ve sat in where the tension adjust for leaning back was useful, you really could tweak it to lean back a little comfortably (still not as good as locking).4. The armrests are really far forward which makes it hard to get close enough to your desk. I picked this one specifically because the arm rests were adjustable front/back, but they barely went back and slid forward way more than seems needed. I ended up mounting the arms reversed so they angled backward which made it tolerable.I could work around most of the issues except the seat cushion pain so I returned it. The return process was unpleasant and cost ~$25 in return shipping. After submitting the return, they said they may charge a 10% restocking fee (that’s $30) but they ended up not charging me (YMMV). I was very careful about the original packaging and returned it like-new.There were some pros:1. The construction was solid and it felt durable, no weird wiggling or flexing.2. It was easy to put together (although what isn’t?)3. The little rollerblade wheels were nice.4. The backrest lean tension was really smooth and had just enough friction that you could stop at a point and not have to struggle to keep it still.Anyway, I don’t recommend buying this chair. I gave it 3 stars because it’s not badly made (see the pros) and comfort is so person-by-person that someone might find it comfortable. Honestly, buying a chair online is very risky, they’re just way too personal. Find an office store nearby and actually sit in one before buying it. For what it’s worth, I ended up buying a Tempur-pedic TP9000 from staples for $220 and am very happy.

Ever changing delivery dates but A true ERGONOMIC chair worth the wait.
First issue i had was with the logistics of the delivery. I was given a date to be delivered, then it got marked as being late. I checked the status of the delivery and it had not left a location in California. So yeah of course its late. I was given a new date of WED SEP 16 but then it got changed again to sometime between SEP 17 thru 22. I checked status and showed as being late. ok so on Thursday I checked again and it showed it had left CA and arrived in FT Worth TX. It sat there until on Friday it showed it was near my area but not out for delivery until Saturday, which is when it finally got delivered. I had to wait a bit and was able to open the box and there was no damage or a product that had been used and reshipped. everything was in its place and I put the chair together. I did have some issue with the allen wrench and the screws as they were a bit tough to get started but after a few tries they finally were able to work their way in and secure all the parts. i bought the chair with the roller blade wheels which is a much better feel than the regular wheels you get. I would get them if you can. The overall look and feel of the chair is good and the cylinder worked with no issues. I was able to raise and lower the chair. The arm rests worked great. The levers and reclining options were all good. The lumbar support is good and the head rest is a good thing to have as well. good support when you need it and when your in full recline its a good feeling to have all that support. The black and grey was my selection and it looks good. The all mesh material is good to and glad its not any upholstered leather looking office chair. I’ve only used it a few days but i am very happy that I got this chair. Will see over time how durable and how it takes every day use not that I am mostly working from home. Pictures coming soon. I do recommend that you take a look at this chair and give it a try. I was going to get one of the Staples chairs but found way too many bad reviews of broken or used items being sent to customers so I opted for this one and gave it try. I am glad I did but time will tell if it can endure. Let the challenge begin!

Good for the money, some minor details here and there.
This isn’t my full review yet, I love chair for a first impression, but this part of the headrest I found was broken. The screw in its plastic cover was inside the mesh hidden in its hole, but I heard wobbling behind my ear and it was this broken screw. It’s not a deal breaker obviously, and it’s not the reason for my 4-Stars.It’s just a worry that, as you can see, the mesh may start to get loosened up with time and use, and get easily ripped, because of this broken screw.I’d be happy if you send me a replacement headrest.Otherwise great chair, and I’d recommend, will also update this after using the chair for a bit.Edit: eeeeh… just after a couple/few weeks of use, I’m already coming back here to take away one star, for a total of 3.See, at first sight the chair looks very high quality, solid materials and looks great.PROS:I loved the reclining system, opposed to the traditional, gamer chair, one-position-lock-in-place system.Explanation: in my gamer chair/typical chair experience, this how the back of the chair works: you have a liver, set the back to a certain tilt degree, and have it permanently there, until your back gets sore and you have to reposition it. That’s what my back gotten used to and that’s what’s given me back problems.See, in this chair, the back is best used as follows: leave the back liver in “freefall mode”, meaning, don’t lock the back in place, and then, using the knob on the bottom of the seat, adjust the “weight” of the back to match your preference. That way, the entire back seat of the chair will move freely along with your movement, it’ll be stiff, so that it supports you and doesn’t completely fall back if you lean on it; and, it’ll be soft enough, so that IF you lean on it, it’ll go back with you, but still be stiff enough to hold your posture in place.I don’t know if that made sense, but, if you’re a smaller guy, or better yet a smaller gal, this chair would fit you really well.CONS:First troubles started when assembling the chair, it was unnecessarily difficult, as in, only if they marked the screws and named them (like every other product assembly), the operation would’ve been much easier. All the screws look very similar, and it was a challenge for me figuring out each screw goes where, especially because they could fit in all holes.Second, the assembly is not precise, in each spot where you screw a part in, there’s a huge room for error, example: attaching the back of the chair to the bottom, or attaching the pump to the bottom of the seat. These (in theory) MUST be locked in, in a very tight spot, where they’re perfectly centered, with no wiggle room or anything like that, and then screwed in and tightened in place. That’s how it should be… instead? You try your best to somehow hold the parts in place, perfectly bullseye center the screws in the holes without moving the whole thing and ruining the centeration, then tighten the screws diagonally one by one, and by the time you tighten the second screw, the first one would escape and shift its perfect centeration. Thus, shifting the whole centeration of the bottom seat being attaching to the pump and the base.Same exact thing goes to the back, and the armrests.I even got my brother to help me out rebuild the chair and try to center everything out, but it literally was impossible. That was TWO.Thirdly? After all the disasters and failed attempts in the alignment of the seat and the back, I get to start to rest and adjusting my posture to the chair, and here I find my red-flags.I’m a fairly small guy (compared to actual big guys), I’m 5’11-6′ (180cm), and 158 lbs (72kg). And the chair was *very unfortunately* not comfortable over long hours.See, I’mma be clear, the chair is PERFECT for back posture, and sitting absolutely straight, I’m talking 90 degrees back, 90 degrees on the knees, for laser-focused-1-foot-from-the-monitor gaming. Like… it’s actually really comfortable to sit absolutely straight in and game. But if you’re anything like me, you get sore quick and tend to move your posture a lot? It’s…. just not good! The space around the thighs is really really small, a snug fit, my thighs barely fit the mesh.If I slide a little bit lower, my back hits the plastic separator between the two back pieces. The headrest is decent, except it is too far back, whenever you want to rest your head on it, you have to reach your neck back to an uncomfortable position, i.e, you can’t really rest your head on the headrest and continue using your PC. If you rest your head on it, you’ll be look at the ceiling, even if you had the back of the chair completely tilted to the front.Lastly, the mesh material is uhhh.. I dunno it’s not the softest and most comfortable, it is a mesh after all, so, much better than regular old gamer chair memory foam. But I dunno….. I guess I had my hopes a little bit higher.I’m already looking for a replacement, and this time I think I’m going for a real high end chair, I don’t want to play the game of “budget guessing”, buying something relatively cheaper and having to go through the pain of having it meet the expectations or absolutely shred them. That’s the review.

Comfortable and ergonomic but…
It is definitely one of the better chairs I’ve owned, on more than one occasion I’ve spent over 24 hours in one go on this thing cranking away at college stuff. Never got sore or anything. But it hardly lasted a year before the mesh on the upper back and seat started to lose their tension. Now, presently the back support had snapped from it’s bracket and is causing a pressure point. If this were built a bit better and used some more metal in it’s construction it would be well worth the price point, and 5 Stars. But comfort doesn’t mean Jack if the product doesn’t last.Another update as of April 27th 2023. Most of the chrome plating has worn from the plastic around the arm rests, this would be avoidable if it were a thicker coating, or again, made of metal. The weave has also broken form a bit. It’s becoming harder and harder to accept the price tag. The longevity of this chair is far worse than it should be for such a premium price. The only up so far, still, is it’s comfort. I’m out of college now but still occasionally spend way too long at my desk working on 3d modeling and digital design and prototyping. I just get into a groove and before I know it the sun is up. I’m also ashamed to admit that I have slept in this chair dozens of times when my bed is 3 feet from it.Despite it’s horrible build quality, the comfort is still premium.

Easy to put together
Love the support and as mentioned very easy to put together. The tensioner for leaning back does not allow me to tighten any more and it’s still to soft for my liking….. The arm rest also have no way to add tension so they move way to freely. Overall the chair is very supportive and I really like the headrest. I believe it was just a bit overpriced but we will see how it holds up over time….

Foam defect; misleading “sale” pricing
This chair has worked well for the last four year, with one exception. The foam underneath the front of the seat (where kneepits rest) came out of place and is hard to put back and keep in place. That said, while the chair is a level up from an off-the-shelf office chair, it is overpriced. Also, seller increased price before placing it on “sale” (which is illegal in various states). So be wary of any supposed promotion.

Lasted just about 3 years
Originally this chair was a nice purchase and was comfortable for some time. It had some nice features and adjustments that met my needs (I.e. lumbar support, neck support, very fluid rollers). However, recently the seat support has become very uncomfortable. This is due to the seat being a mesh support vs a cushion. I would imagine that my rear is the culprit here, and perhaps 3 years is all that should be expected of such a chair, but I would imagine at a $300+ price point that the chair should yield a minimum of 5 years of frequent use. Now that the mesh has lost its support, I am in search of a new chair as the back of my legs are definitely feeling the brunt of the seat frame now that I sink into the mesh. I would recommend a cushion instead of a mesh seat for what it’s worth. For reference I am 5’7″ ~190lbs.TL;DR – 3 years of moderate use – needs to be replaced- Mesh support wears over time, causing you to sink into the “bucket” – this is the primary issue with the chair at this point.- Lumbar support is pretty good.- Armrest supports have held up. (I’m a “leaner”)- Rollers are great.- No complaints with seat adjustment features

Tolerable Chair and not suited for tall people
Feel obligated to write an review on this chair because I feel like this is something new buyer should be aware of before purchasing. For reference Im 6’1 and 200lbs if your height and build is much smaller then feel free to ignore this review.Pros:Good gas cylinder,Nice base (material wise)Nice wheelsCons:Fixed lumbarShort seatEverything else is cheaply madeLosse head rest and arm restNot suited for tall people even though at the time of purchase the description said it could support up to 6’1, and also at that time there was no size chart illustrated.*It is nice that they included one now as I’m writing this review. But this chair has issues in the seat department,Having a 16in seat in combination with the unadjustable lumbar support, meaning you realistically are only sitting on 14 maybe 13 inches of seat. To say it supports above anyone over 5’11” is even stretching it in my opinion. This makes the chair super comfortable, imagine sitting on a seat where half of your thighs are overhanging out of the edge of the chair. You actually have to force yourself to get comfortable by digging your butt into the tiny space between the seat and lumbar support everytime. For the price this chair is offering, there are tons of other similar designed chair with simply. Much bigger seats. Not to mention the cheap plastic that the head rest and arm rest are made of, while trying to adjust yourself on the chair, the head and arm rest just moves at the slightest touch.I really tried to like this chair, but after some time with the chair I realized it’s not what it advertised to be. And it is not worth the $300+ for me personally. I’m sure others have different experience than mine, but i hate for another buyer to experience this as it is very disappointing. ergonomic and comfort should coexist in a chair, but its not the case for this chair.I hope whoever reads this, finds it useful. And good luck.

Super comfortable
There are definitely better more comfortable chairs but at this price point this one is kingI can sit on it for a long time (12+ hrs doing cad at times) it keeps me in a good posture so I don’t get any pain like I have with other chairs .With that said this doesn’t come close to the 1000+ dollar chairs they give us at work but I never expected it to. Compared with every other chair I’ve had at this price point this one is easily the most customizable and the most comfortable.Multiple positions for arm rests, chair height, head rest height, and multiple angles for each with the option to have or not have them at allBreathable nylon mesh material that doesn’t get hot or sag overtime (had it for at least a year or 2 by now)Gives multiple options for wheels out the boxHas a solid metal baseThe list goes onIf you’re looking for a ergonomic chair at this price point you can stop here because this is definitely the one

Good chair when on sale but not for larger body types
First about my experience with office chairs. I have worked in an office setting for the last 15 years and have gone through many chairs. I have sat in the expensive ones (you know the brand) at the office but when we were sent home we were on our own. I stupidly bought a cheaper faux leather office chair with zero back support. That chair finally started falling apart and I came across this chair on prime day. After a week of use (8+ hours per day) my pro’s and cons:Pros:Similar to more expensive mesh chairs at a fraction of the priceExtremely easy to assembleComfortable after long periods of sittingPromotes proper postureCons:Right arm rest is a bit loose (likely a defect with my chair)Arm rest swivel is pretty useless and doesn’t have a lock featureLumbar support is not adjustable and a bit stiff initiallyNot made for all sizes/body typesSeems like a lot of cons, but overall I am happy with this chair so far. I’m 5’9 and 175 lbs. If I were any taller or heavier it might not have been a good choice. First day I was having a little remorse with the lumbar support being a bit too stiff but after a couple of days it has broken in and I don’t even notice it anymore.

Very comfortable and versatile office chair
I received the big box right on time and as promised. Thanks to shipping and UPS ;-)Assembly was easy enough, all tools (Allen wrench) provided although I used my ratchet for even easier screw tightening. The seat and the back are quite heavy, so you either have someone help you holding the parts in place when screwing them together or you use a more practical tool.I used the roller blade wheels right away and didn’t even bother trying out the regular ones. With the “blades” rolling over carpet is easy but you definitely need a carpet mat for rolling around while seated. I think any carpet would give up after a few weeks.I can comfortably sit in this chair at my desk for hours. The mesh takes a little getting used to (at least for me) but is comfy and provides air flow so that in warm temperatures you don’t sweat so much and moisten the seat. The head rest is only useful when reclined which is very comfortable. Adjusting the tension for the recline is easy, so is the height adjustment. So far the gas cylinder works flawlessly and keeps the height (well, I am just 84kg/185lbs).I like the adjustable arm rests. Besides being height adjustable you can slide them forward (not notched) and rotate them (one notch either direction). The lumbar support is not adjustable but works perfectly for my body size and posture. That’s the reason for the 4-star rating for ergonomics because perhaps an adjustable one would be even better. But then: who knows. My final verdict: great value for money and very comfortable office chair (and I am gaming too 😉 )

It could have been an awesome chair, but…
I would love to give this chair the highest, 5-star rating, but for such a great and expensive chair it misses a few features that I think are a must in such product. I definitely love the height of this chair and its lumbar and neck supports! They are great, and I don’t know how I lived without them so far. That’s probably why I decided to get rid of my old chair that was too low – see attached picture that shows how this chair compares to a “regular” height chair. So what I like about this product: 1) good lumbar and neck support – although I think that the lumbar support should allow for a few different settings instead of one, 2) larger, roller blade type wheels that roll much better any floor, 3) mesh design of seat and back that allow for good airflow around the body, 4) height, depth and angle adjustments for the arm rests – they really help to find the perfect position for arms during long hours on a computer, 5) great visual design – this chair definitely looks cool as was mentioned by a few people who’ve seen it already. 6) Different color options which is a welcome in a boring world of office furniture. Now, what I don’t like about it: 1) No tilt adjustment for the seat section which is big disadvantage. My old and low chair had a multi-position adjustment for seat tilt. There is however height adjustment for the seat which is a must. 2) No pre-set tilt adjustment for the back of chair: there is only one locked setting for back in fully vertical position, or an unlocked setting where the back can freely swing from vertical position to about 45-degree angle position. 3) The seat is constructed in such way that there is a strip of foam or sponge in front of it just under he net that stretches over the entire seat section. That foam strip can be easily felt under the tights which may become a problem after a prolonged seating.Overall a very pleasing and well constructed chair, but with some flows that if removed would make it a much better product.

Above average but not a perfect solution.
I like the chair. So far I can feel less strain on my lower back as I switched from an old cheaper gaming chair. Some things I wish it had are:- Custom lumbar support. It gives too much and can’t be adjusted. I had to add a foot rest to force myself back into it.-both sets of wheels leave a lot to be desired. The don’t rotate easily so when the chair rolls, it’s like a Walmart shopping cart. They also could use a lock as they don’t stay in place on hard surfaces. The combination of having to push my back into the lumbar and the wheels moving at their own volition seems to add more stress to other parts of my back where my core is trying to compensate.-arm rests are very finicky. It’s hard to get them level so both are exactly the same height and they rotate so easily and can’t be locked in place. It would also be nice if I could rotate them out of the way when I stand. They are also hard as a rock so resting your arms on them for long periods of time becomes uncomfortable. I had to wrap soft fabric around them which looks bad.-price: I know in the reviews many customers paid around $250 but I paid close to $400. This chair is definitely more of a $200-250 chair. But you know, inflation. If I could do it again I’d probably spend more for something better or at least get something that’s more in line with its price.-positives: it does feel better on my back than something cheap and definitely better than gaming chairs. The seat is comfortable and the mesh feels great and breathable. The headrest works for me even though it is loose and can move with just small amounts of pressure. It is a beautiful chair.;tldr: Look elsewhere if you want something worth the expense. This chair will lead to some disappointment even if it is your first ergonomic chair. It is definitely NOT worth its $360+ price tag but if you can get it close to $250 it may be worth it.

Pretty Decent
This chair is a sizeable step up in quality from my last chair that was $100 less expensive but only lasted two years. The packaging is very good as are the assembly instructions. There is actually a nice assembly tool provided although I still use my own. Brass thread inserts are molded into all of the parts where assembly is required providing very a much more durable joint. On the down side, I don’t like the fastening. It uses screws that are both coated in loctite and serrated under the heads into slots that are overly wide. This causes the parts to walk around from where you want them while tightening and chew up the paint under the screw head. A nice set of fender washers will fix it but the slots are wider than needed given the manufacturing tolerances and the serrations are unnecessary given the use of the loctite. That said it still works fine. When it says the lumbar is dynamic, it doesn’t mean adjustable. It seems to hit me at 5-11 and my wife at 5-7 a bit low. She doesn’t like it but I think it feels fine. the head rest is adjustable up and down and in tilt but not forward and back. Seems to be best placed if you are actually reclining. All in all, if it holds up for at least 5 years, I would buy it again.

Great overall, but lacks adjustment capabilities for lumbar support
Overall, this is an excellent chair and while I’ve only been using it for about two weeks at this point, I can see it lasting for a while. The previous back pain I experienced from poor posture has been greatly minimized. I like that the mesh makes the chair breathable, and the way the back of the chair is designed makes great lumbar support for me. Further, the chair feels sturdy and looks well made. The blade wheels are also fantastic, although the chair comes with the standard black plastic wheels if you prefer those. However, there are definitely a few things to keep in mind before purchasing this chair. Like previous reviewers have said, there is no way to adjust the back piece. While the pictures showing multiple segments for the back might suggest adjustability, the way the chair is built is the way you will sit. The shape of the chair happens to suit me just fine, but I can see it being an issue for people with more or less arched backs. The second issue is the front portion of the seat. Because the seat itself is mesh, if I ever sit on the edge of the seat, the mesh will dip down to touch the plastic frame below. This causes a lot of discomfort if I sit in this position for too long or in any way let my legs hang down. The issue can probably be easily remedied with a piece of foam between the mesh and seat frame, but that’s an extra step I shouldn’t have to bother with. All this leads me to the final takeaway: this chair is good for improving posture. There’s just no flexibility for switching up the sitting position. So if you’re someone who enjoys have your legs up on a chair or occasionally slouching, this might not be the best option for you.

Great chair and excellent customer service
I’ve had this chair since feb of 2022. I work full time from home. Chair still looks and feels brand new today (july 2024). Good, responsive warranty claims department. I had an issue with the piston making creaking sounds after about 18 mo of use. I contacted them and after a few email exchange I received a new piston. Their claim process was simple and easy. The company has a great product and stands behind it. there is something to be said about that these days.

It’s alright
This is my first impressions after a good week or so. I will certainly update this if it’s gets better (or worse).A few things to note:I’m on the shorter side (5’3.5”), and I weigh around 135 pounds. In addition, I have scoliosis and work on a computer for 9 hours a day.First and foremost, no, this is not the most comfortable chair ever for me. It’s better than a dining room table chair, which is a generous comparison, but not as good as most office chairs. Here’s why:-The adjustments are severely lacking in many ways. Basically, you need to hope that your body just so happens to conform to that lumber support shape or else you’re SOL.-When you recline, it’s bar to back. You can feel every piece of hard plastic that supports the back, which makes it super uncomfy (especially if you have back problems).-As many have mentioned, the reclining mechanism is not the greatest. You can either sit up way too straight, or you can recline like you’re about to nap (only not as comfy).-The armrests are hard, and the adjustments available are not that impressive.Onto the more positive aspects:-It was helping my back pain (although now I have shoulder pain. Ya win some ya lose some, lol)-It definitely gives proper support if you fit it.-It is sturdy, and although many reviews say otherwise, it feels more expensive. I’m hoping the sturdiness holds up.-I love the wheels. It makes rolling over hardwood and carpet super easy. Much better than the standard office chair wheels.-Like and airy—no sweat/musk/swamp.-Although it is not a perfect fit for me, I can see why it would be great for others. Is it the greatest? So far, no.Do I feel I wasted money? So far, also no.Would I ever buy this at full price (I snagged it on prime day and it was still expensive)? Hard no.Taking into account of your idea of comfort, your size, and any health problems, will hopefully help when considering this chair.(If you have scoliosis and work in front of a computer, this is not a miracle chair)

Great for long hours of work!
While I’ll admit I was hesitant that a chair with this price point would stand up to the rigors of daily multi-hour use, I have been pleasantly surprised. Assembling it was a bit tricky, as the tray the screws came in didn’t readily identify which was which and holding things so I could screw them together was interesting by myself. However, the installation was fairly straightforward and within 15-20 minutes I was back to work!I enjoy the support it provides, though I wouldn’t mind the ability to adjust the tension on the support a bit as well as potentially more range of motion on the headrest (I tend to sit forward more often than not, and the headrest is designed for me to sit back more which is probably more ergonomic than my current sitting position admittedly). The only concern that I have right now is that with as much use as the chair is getting, what happens when the mesh breaks or begins to fail. There really isn’t anything mentioned anywhere about replacement parts or even upgradable parts (say I wanted a leather cover instead of the mesh). While I sincerely hope that I won’t have to worry about said issues, I really cannot complain about the affordable price and the increased comfort that I have experienced since getting this chair. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone in need of a work-at-home chair!

Broke within a year
I am a 6’0″, 275 lb man. I believe my weight and size may have damaged the lean back feature of the chair. It now permanently leans back.Another issue is that my butt slides between the seat and the back rest.Other than that, it felt like a great chair. The mesh is sturdy and easy to clean. The adjustability is nice.

Preliminary review – not the best ergo chair
Just purchased this chair and have used it for two full work days so far (9-10 hours each day). I’m going to give myself more time to adjust to it. But as of day two, I’m not super thrilled. I read a lot of the reviews and have to agree that the lumbar support takes up too much of the seat. I am 5’8″ and all legs (35″ inseam). For a chair to be ergo correct, there should be no more than maybe an inch between the end of the chair and the back of your knees. For me, this sits 4 inches from the back of my knees. This makes the chair uncomfortable and my legs start to go numb. Luckily, I bought a foot rest at the same time, that helps lift my legs up a bit higher for better circulation. The wheels are super fabulous, just like the other reviews say. However, because of my need to use the foot rest, the wheels keep sliding backwards and I a constantly trying to find a way for the chair to stay in place. The lumbar support, I SOOOO wanted to love this. But although it feels great when you first sit in the chair, after hours of having it pressing against my lower back, it’s just super sore by the end of the day. I imagine it could also be from me trying to sit as far back in the chair as possible, due to the seat not being deep enough. I will keep trying this chair. My husband threw away the box…so I don’t have much other choice. But I wanted to leave this review for others in my situation. I sit in my office chair for up to 10 hours a day, 5 days a week. But I would agree with the other reviews from taller folks. This is not a chair for long legged folks. Lumbar support is out so far, that to have your back touch the upper portion of the chair, you aren’t sitting upright. More bowed backwards. It’s too bad the lumbar support isn’t adjustable. Would probably solve every problem I have with this chair.

Your back and butt will thank you
This chair was worth every penny! Working from home most days, I can sit for 8 hours in this chair and forget to get up and walk around. When I am not working, I will typically play games on my PC and again sit in this chair for longer without issues. The chair itself is sturdy and well-built and I really like the 2 different options for wheels since my work area is carpeted.I have been using this chair now for 4 years and had zero issues only maximum comfort.

Overrated. Awkward. Hardly “Ergonomic”.
This chair was brought to my attention from it being listed on several “Top 10” lists for Best Office Chair. My experience with this chair differs significantly than what those lists claim.Maybe this chair works for others…but it certainly doesn’t work for me. One of the main reasons I purchased this chair was to improve my leg circulation while sitting. One of those Top10 lists was “Best Chair for Leg Circulation”…and it was atop that list. But after Day One, I sadly realized this chair’s design is actually quite bad for leg circulation. There’s an awkward padding underneath the mesh on the front edge of the seat that actually digs into the my hamstrings just above my knee. Not good for circulation AT ALL.Also worth noting…I’m 5’11”. When opting to use the chair wheels that look like rollerblade wheels, they actually increase the chair height(from seat-to-floor) by about an inch and a half. That was just enough of an increase to where I couldn’t relax my heels on the floor while keeping my legs bent at a 45 degree angle. So anybody under 6′ will most likely NOT be able to sit properly in this chair…unless you opt to use the cheap plastic wheels that are also included in the box. When I switched to the cheap wheels, I was able to rest my heels on the floor. So if you’re reading this, and you’re 5’2″, you’re gonna need a foot rest to pair with this chair….unless you like your feet dangling.Anyway, this chair is hardly ergonomic. It’s a shame because I wanted to like it.

I don’t understand the amount of good reviews for this product… (READ EDIT FOR UPDATE!)
I’ll say this it’s built well, meaning quality materials and a solid feel. But, whoever designed the back of the chair decided to angle the plastic supports (it splits in the center of the back) in a way that your back rests directly on them so if you go into recline mode those 2 plastic edge supports dig right into your back. You even feel them in the upright position. I’m 5′-8 and if they just had the rim bend down there instead of up I would have given this chair a 4 or 5. But sadly it’s a 1 for me and it’s being returned… Also, you cannot adjust the lumbar and for the price, most others in this class allow some sort of adjustment.EDIT: I spent a couple of months trying all sorts of chairs in the price range from $200- $1,500 (including the Ergo3d as my original review said) and decided I didn’t like any of them. I’m 5-8 and it’s a hard height to buy a good ergonomic chair for. To make a long story short I ordered another one of these Nouhaus Ergo3ds and this one is better than the rest. This one’s back is much more taught than the original and my back isn’t touching the plastic rim as it did on the original. So it must have been a defect. I’m changing my stars to 4 out of 5 just because I got a defective one at first. If I didn’t I wouldn’t have had to return 12 other chairs…

Painful after year 1
I’ve had this chair for 2 years. At first I loved it — it was one of the most comfortable chairs I’d sat in especially at this price point. However, after about 8 months the tension in the mesh on all parts of the chair began to loosen. A little at first and now at year 2 it’s sagging considerably. This is particularly bad in the lumbar support piece. The frame is now cutting into my back and the chair isn’t usable without a pillow. I only weigh 140lbs (150 if you count when my cat sits on me) so I should not be steering it out this much.If I could replace the lumbar part I’d give this a 3.5 stars but it’s hardly usable right now.RatingsHeight: greatAesthetic: greatAdjustability: greatWheels: greatComfort after 2 years: poor, causes significant back pain :(2.5 stars total

A great upgrade from my 10 year old chair.
I work remotely full time and needed an upgrade from the squeaky chair I bought for $10 at a garage sale a decade ago.The shape at the lower back is comfortable and helps correct my terrible posture, and I immediately noticed a difference in my back pain. I did not attach the arms because these are just a nuisance to me. The mesh material is so-so; my previous chair was fabric so this is a big change that I’ll need to get used to. Easy to assemble with very well labeled pieces and instructions. The roller blade wheels are an absolute game changer (omg how did we not think of this sooner?) and this chair actually comes with sets of both options if you prefer caster wheels for some reason. Even full of dog hair, the roller wheels breeze around the room.Overall, I really like this chair after about 2 months of use. Will update over time after more use.

Replacement Foam Insert?
I purchased this chair a few years ago, and have really enjoyed it. The only complaint I have is with the foam insert within the underside of the chair itself. It offers support for the back of the thighs/knees, which is nice, but it happens to fall out regularly. On a weekly basis I am having to pick it up off the floor, and reinsert it into the underside of the chair. Very frustrating. I was hoping there would be a replacement piece for this too, since it eventually broke into two pieces (probably from me having to manually stuff it back into the underside of the chair over and over). For this reason alone, I cannot give the chair 5 stars.

Not great…
This would be a fantastic chair for maybe a child with severe back problems… otherwise it’s not good. Good things are that the chair is obviously well built and the directions and building are very easy. The choice of wheels is nice too. The bad part is… everything else… Where do I begin, first, the headrest is too far back so you’ll realistically never actually use it. The lumbar support is WAY too aggressive. The seat itself is very narrow and very short, almost like it was made for a child. And most infuriating of all, it only had 3 reclining settings: 90 degrees upright, 45 degrees back and 90 degrees back. No in between. This could be remedied by just unlocking the recliner but I could never get it just right and it always without fail ended up hurting my back and buttocks.

Solid Chair For The $$$
Very ergo. It’s in the name twice too. The 2 sets of rollers for different surfaces was nice. Assembled easily and it’s very solid and heavy (lots of metal instead of plastic).

Super ergonomic, but material is tough on skin
On occasion I like to sit cross legged in my chair, or with one foot tucked. The material was a lot tougher than I expected, and it kinda hurts bare skin. But anyone who sits normal won’t have any complaints at all. High quality parts

So happy with my chair!
*Update after 2 weeks: I still love the chair but those arm rests though! I took them off. I hate them. They don’t stay put since they’re horizontally adjustable (I hope that makes sense!). Even trying to push the chair by the arm rest itself will move them out of position. My chair is on a really plush, high pile carpet and there’s already resistance when you try to move the chair but, even still, they will move no matter what you do. Just leaning on them while sitting in the chair will move them. You have to move the chair by anything BUT the arm rest. This is such a 1st world problem but it’s annoying. Admittedly, I don’t know if you can tighten them so they stay put but I couldn’t be bothered to check since I hate arm rests anyway. That being said, I am still in love with my chair and the original review below still stands.*I don’t know why I waited so long to buy a decent chair. I have Degenerative Disc Disease which makes extended anything potentially painful. I work from home as I have since before the pandemic and I’ve been using a pretty, clear acrylic chair that I loved only for how it looked. I’m so very over it.The Nouhaus chair and 2 others kept popping up in practically every review I read online as the “budget” choice (I don’t consider $350 “budget” – $35 is “budget”). However, a Herman Miller chair was never considered so this is my “high-ish end”. Everything is relative! The other 2 chairs I kept seeing were a little cheaper but each only recline to 120° while this one reclines to 135°. If you don’t have DDD, 15° isn’t much and probably wouldn’t matter. But if you do?? That 15° can make all the difference in the world. The chair was insanely easy to put together. Everything was clearly labeled and the instructions were straight forward. Then I got to sit in it. You can tweak the chair to fit you almost perfectly. At least I could. The lumbar support hits me just right (I’m 5’8″). The headrest is adjustable. The seat reclines and rocks so as I don’t feel like I’ll go over backwards while reclining the full 135° (you can loosen/tighten the resistance for when the chair reclines). It is so light yet feels solid. It’s definitely alien looking (they all are). It only comes in black but that’s ok. I gave up caring that it wasn’t as pretty as my other chair as soon as I sat down in it. Now, I don’t mind when I get stuck in my office for hours on end, unable to get up from my desk. The only thing I’m not big on are the arm rests. But I don’t like arm rests to begin with. I can always take them off.I’m in love with my new boyfriend, er, um, I mean my new chair.

Was loving this thing.
I’m the dude that skimped on computer chairs my entire life. My butt always hurt as the cushions broke down, and then I’d get one of those foam things to sit on. I work in IT and then play PC games so some days I’m sitting in my chair for 10 hours plus.Based on some of the reviews I was a little hesitant to pull the trigger on this being a lot more expensive than what I was used to paying, but finally broke down and tried it. At the time of writing this review I have been using the chair for now 8 months so I figured I’d come back and provide my insight.First I am 38 years old, 5’6″ and145lbs. I have had neck and lower back issues since my early 20’s. After about a month and a half using this chair (correctly) I noticed that those issues were starting to go away. The chair has some great lumbar support and the arms rests are great, even with my keyboard which sits higher than the chair. The mesh seat is way more comfortable than I had originally though it would be and offers perfect support for me and I have not even once thought about pulling my butt cushion out. I loving it so far and will update the review at the 1 year mark. The only downside I personally saw with this chair was there were some scratches on the metal legs but this wasn’t a big enough deal for me to go for a return. I can also see taller or heavyset people not liking the chair as much. It’s really designed for someone under 6′.Update: 2 years now and the chair itself is going strong but it is leaking grease out of the bottom of the gas lift. Lowering my rating to 3. I will reach out to customer service for a replacement part.Update: Customer service replaced the gas lift portion of chair after a couple of weeks. I thought the process took a little longer than it should have but ultimately they gave me the piece a needed for free. Raising back to 4 stars.

Refined/Adjustable Ergo chair for much less than larger brands
This was easy to put together, very well packed, all the screws & bolts came with locktite screws on them. There was a T-wrench and easy to read directions. I did end up with 4 extra screws (all were different screws) which did not seem to be included in the directions–so assume they are just “extra” screws in case one failed? There were two sets of wheels (roller blade like & traditional), nice option. Only improvement out of the gates I suggest to NOUHAUS would be to label the screws in the screw package, as I didn’t know what an M8 or M6x1.18″ vs M6.0.79″ screw is.I think you should check your rear pockets before sitting as it would seem the mesh could cut or get damaged if you had a pen or pencil, or car keys in them. Aside from that, I’m looking forward to seeing how this works out.Good looking chair, the recline is smooth and nice. Only had a couple hours in it so far–nice to lock the seatback out or recline. A nice surprise I find in most mass produced assembly required furniture such as chairs or shelves, cabinets, etc, is the screw holes are typically requiring force or not smooth, or misaligned holes/brackets and you end up stripping screws or holes–but SURPRISINGLY, these seemed to all be chased well and went in easily. Only time will tell how well this performs for 10 hour shifts at the computers. For the price, after nearly 2 hrs–this is a comfortable, adjustable, easily assembled chair that has great lumbar support and features for the price. If that is what you are looking for, this may be the one to pick. I only found this brand due to YouTube reviews of office vs gaming chairs for office environment. Glad I found it as it was described as a “Not well known hidden gem” among $1,000 chairs.Giving 4 stars only because I had trouble figuring out which screws were which due to them not being labeled in the packaging they came in–it’s hard to tell from a drawing of a screw on the assembly instructions & expect to know what is what from a pile of screws in a plastic casing.
