8 month review: I use the Gesture at home and the Aeron on my office days. I prefer the Gesture.

**PROS AND CONS****PROS**-Unmatched adjustability in high end office chairs-Very solid arm rests no matter how you adjust them-Can tilt back VERY far compared to most office chairs-Super flexible seat and back lets you maneuver freely without feeling inhibited by your chair. Being able to sit however you want and still feel comfortable after a long day is BIG.-Very helpful customer support. They DO in fact honor their 12 yr warranty and WILL take care of your investment if you have a problem (can personally vouch).-Feels brand new after 8 months of heavy use, no sign of the foam cushions collapsing. They use a very durable dense foam and not cheap memory foam. Cloth looks mint and no signs of wear or loose threads.-Aesthetically pleasing**CONS**-Foam/cushioning on the thinner side, but not necessarily uncomfortable since your weight is very evenly distributed across the chair.-Will need to put down some lithium grease where the seat pan meets the back structure; otherwise it will squeak after ~3 months.-No aftermarket headrest options since the non-headrest version doesn’t have mounting points for it.-Cloth seats. Not a big deal for me but I have seen complaints of people getting hot in their chair.-Very heavy. 80lb chair is not easy carry up the stairs if you plan on moving soon.==========Both are very good chairs. Biggest difference is that the Gesture is more flexible in seat pan and the back support. Makes it a lot easier to move around, reach for things, lean in and out however I want in and in any direction. I can sit any way want; legs crossed, legs on desk, leg up on chair, slouched or sit upright and maintain a good posture if I’m trying to get work done. My movement or how I sit doesn’t ever feel inhibited by the Gesture. The adjustable arms are amazing and very adjustable. Super easy to adjust however you want and usually I find myself adjusting them when I’m wanting sit back in my chair to watch a video or when I need to spend the day typing things out.On the other hand, the Aeron is more of a “rigid” chair. It forces you to more or less sit upright and maintain a better posture because the frame hugs you more compared to the Gesture. It’s not easy to sit in any other posture besides the *ideal* one. Seat pan and backframe feel more conforming to the body and I’d have no problem having a productive day in this chair. The adjustable arms are good, but come nowhere near the adjustability of the Gesture. Good office chair if the only thing you’re doing is churning out emails in a cubicle. Can’t go wrong if you decide to pick either one. Personally I went with Gesture because I value the additional flexibility it provides and honestly it’s lot more aesthetically appeasing than the Aeron. Also worth mentioning their customer support and warranty programs are AMAZING. I had a problem with the chair being unbalanced and within 2 weeks I had a full replacement delivered to my doorstep at $0 cost. Only regret I have is not getting the headrest version—which I’ve heard is pretty good.

Leap chair compared to Gesture – owners perspective

I had a Leap chair V2 for 10 years and gave it to my wife to use at her office. The Gesture was expected to be an upgrade as I bought it, I spend very long hours sitting at work and at the PC at home. Reviews of the Gesture are outstanding for diverse sitting positions. In any case both my wife and I are getting older and have a few back issues, and we both need good quality/supportive chairs. She loves the Leap so it’s hers now. If I had not already enjoyed the great support and comfort of the Leap chair for years, I think I would be much more impressed with the Gesture. The Leap chair is that good even after all these years. The Gesture looks more high tech and modern while the Leap is more of a boring generic look, but I think in some ways the Leap chair is more comfortable for normal sitting. The Gesture is comfortable and supportive and as advertised it shines when you want to lean back in the chair (very smooth and supportive when doing this, one thing I think it is better at than the leap). Also the Gesture arm adjustability is superior. I think it’s a great chair… but two things, I think the padding is a tad more comfortable in the Leap chair in the back and seat. Not to say the Gesture is not comfortable, it is. Also sometimes I almost feel like the Gesture seat bottom feels like it is tilted forward like I am sliding out of it. Just slightly. But this may simply be that after ten years in the Leap chair I have bonded with it – and after more time in the Gesture I will not even remember a difference. The arms on the Gesture are a stiffer surface and they tilt outward just a little and can make my arms almost slip off, which sometimes annoys me – as I was used to the solidly level feel of the arms on the Leap. Probably they are designed that way for a reason that I have not discovered yet. But I will say this, when I don’t really focus on the differences and just use the Gesture chair, it just WORKS. It is intuitive and very easy to sit in different ways. I had to work 20 hours straight earlier this week, spent it all in the Gesture chair, and not a single complaint on how my back felt afterward or anything else. Including the fact that I never felt overheated in the chair (cloth version). Which ultimately I think is a pretty good test. And having done the same in the Leap many times it also passes that test. Which would I say is “better”? It’s hard to say, the Gesture wins in the highly and easily adjustable arms, and smooth and supportive leaning back. The Leap feel just a tiny bit more padded in the back and seat. If forced I would say the Gesture is an improvement but not in every aspect.

Genuine, new & built like a tank!

Given the low price (compared to buying it directly from Steelcase), I was concerned that the chair might not be genuine, or might be a returned item/factory second. But, it is clearly genuine, brand new and built like a tank! It arrived ahead of schedule by 4 days and was VERY well packaged (I don’t see how the item could be damaged in shipping unless the shipper damaged it on purpose, and even then it would be difficult…really almost OVER protective packaging). It is a VERY attractive chair (beyond nice looking…really a beautiful chair) and pretty comfortable…though it wasn’t the “magic” comfort like someone might imagine with a chair this expensive.** Note: my original impression was based on how it felt with my initial adjustments. Once I learned how to better fine tune it for me (and my body settled into it), I found the chair VERY comfortable. **I am 5′ 11″, 210 pounds and 31″ inseam. I’ve seen a lot of praise for the seat forward/rearward adjustment, but I found I have to adjust mine as far forward as possible…and still there is about 2-1/2″ between the inside of my knee and the forward edge of the seat. I don’t believe I have abnormally long thighs so it might be a problem with someone with really long legs (to be clear, not saying it’s a problem for me, but I do have the adjustment maxed). The armrest adjustments are pretty amazing, however I wish they moved another inch or more forward. The entire chair is VERY well built with all quality materials, including the cloth covering which I expect to hold up well even after a lot of use. Rollers work really smoothly on my carpeted floor.Bottom line…is this chair worth $1100+? I think it is. This chair should last me 12-25 years so if you spread the cost across that time span, it’s actually less expensive than the cheap $250 chairs that are shot after about 3 years.* Bottom line though: if I had it to do again, I think I would purchase a Haworth Soji to save several hundred dollars (while still getting a 12 year warranty chair).

Worth the Money Very Comfortable Even for Large Women

I was very hesitant to spend the price on this chair, but since I have back issues and legs going numb with extremely painful upper thighs, I wanted to give it a try. I had read a review from a gentleman that this chair helped him, he was a large man with very similar pains. I have had this chair for 3 months, going on four and have noticed that the severe pain I had in my legs is gone and that my back does not hurt like it did with my previous chair. I work from home and am setting in this chair about 12 hours a day, so it is getting quite the workout and still has the cushion and support to allow me to focus on my job instead of having my focus go directly the the pains from an uncomfortable chair. The seat is wide enough to where it does not cut into your legs from the natural upward curve in office chairs. Also, the seat is depth adjustable, as I am 5’0” tall, I am able to adjust the depth so it is not like I am setting in a large chair. The chair really is customizable to what you need it to be. For a person that is as wide as they are tall, the makers of this chair did clearly have the best interest of the customer in mind and it is greatly appreciated. For me, I can honestly say that the chair was well worth the money. Especially if you set for hours on end whether it is gaming or working from home, you will find that your rear no longer falls asleep, your legs will no longer go numb, your shoulders won’t feel like there is a stabbing pain shooting between them and you will no longer have that severe upper leg pain from the chair cutting into you. I truly hope this helps you make up your mind on whether it is a good buy for you, I know it was for me. Good Luck!

I was on the fence but I’m keeping it

I was 50-50 on this purchase when I bought the chair. I figured if I didn’t like it or if I didn’t see any improvement to the way my lower back felt I would just return it regardless of how troublesome that would be. I’ve been using this chair for like three days and I have already noticed a significant reduction of discomfort in my lower back and I’m not even sitting in it all day every day. This could be a placebo effect so I’m gonna give it some more time before I decide officially but so far I’m impressed.

Came with a scratch on the bottom. Otherwise great.

This is my second Steelcase Gesture chair. The stiffness and how adjustable it is are great. This one came with a scratch on the bottom of the chair. It’s going to sit in my office, so it’s not worth the hassle of returning the unwieldy chair. It’s just a disappointment that such an expensive chair came scratched.

The chair I was looking for.

Sometimes I sit for long hours and was starting to feel strained. Between herman miller and steelcase, I opted for steelcase.- It is very adjustable. The knobs and switches allow you to adjust seat depth, level of recline and resistance of the recline. Nothing complicated it is a very simple chair to use.-Very comfortable for me. I no longer feel strained after long hours. Used to need a pillow for my bottom before but I don’t need it on this chair. My lower back doesn’t feel strained after a long time. The the backrest adjusts to your back pretty well too.-The arms are amazing. My main selling point for gesture really when I saw those arms I really wanted the chair. Very adjustable and easy to use. The rubber on the arms is this soft yet well built rubber. Its not uncomfortable to lean all your weight on them. I used to need pads for my previous chairs but not for this one. Some people might still prefer pads tho.-Chair rolls pretty well on carpet.-The padding on the seat and back is really comfortable and like I said I don’t feel for extra padding. Its also breathable and doesn’t get overly hot unlike some synth leather chairs.-Well built. Its surprisingly heavy and looks made to last. I see A picture of a broken chair in one of the reviews but the carrier really had to drop the ball for that to happen.-Its nice looking and not overly big or bulky unlike some of those tall “gaming” chairs.Overall am satisfied, I feel its money well spent. For reference am 6’0” tall and weight 188 pounds and fit just right on the chair.

    Incredibly comfortable

I bought this chair because it was the best rated office chair by New York Times Wirecutter. The price made me cringe a bit, but the chair is worth it. Comfortable, great support, easy to adjust. Glad I didn’t skimp on the price.

    Get one

This arrived unannounced and thank God the fantastic deliveryman carried it up two flights of stairs for me – there are angels in this world. Once I removed the wrapping, I became uncertain, it looks so … nothing. However, once I watched a video to figure out how to adjust it (no papers accompanied it), I settled in. It is elegant, unobtrusive, and comfortable, I love the fact that you can adjust the arm rests – very important for me because I’d experienced tennis elbow for months (it has gone since i got this chair and can now properly support my elbows). My partner sneered, you should have got a headrest, and at first I thought he was right – he wasn’t. This supports you so well: lower back, arms, upperback, that a headrest is not necessary, if the spine is supported, comfort follows and pain disappears – or rather, that is my experience.I also go the coconut shade and had buyers remorse when unpacking it, thinking, I am sure it will get dirty: so far, so good, no problems.I am very happy with this chair. I should have got one months ago to deal with a life of endless Zoom meetings.

Honest review, from a normal person.

I work out of my home office 10+ hours a day. I have bought at least 4 chairs in the last decade, all of them $400-$600 chairs from office depot.. I am a large guy, 6’2, 285 lb. so the chairs took a beating and none of them really held up to the price. I bought this chair with my stimulus check, ngl. When I unboxed it, and sat in it I was… whelmed. It wasn’t a cloud of comfort like I imagined. However, the longer I sat in it the more I gained confidence in the purchase. This thing is built like a brick. As a large guy, it holds me like I am a 90 pound woman, without a single stress noise. The back support is everything you need. I have chronic sciatica and for the first time in quite a while I did an 8 hour work shift with almost no back pain. The true test of this chair will be how it holds up in the next decade…

    Fit is great & comfy

My husband had major back surgery and asked me to get him a great adjustable ergonomic office chair… first thing he said when he sat in it after I showed him how to make his personal adjustments “this makes my back feel good”Nuff said

    It’s a $1,000 chair

I bought this thinking I could write it off on my taxes but then my boss explained to me how deductions work and I realized that I could not. Anyways, I have a thousand dollar office chair now. Is it worth a thousand dollars? Probably not, but I’m stuck with it.It is super comfy and just about everything is adjustable, but once you find your preferred settings, you probably won’t ever touch them again. Sitting in this chair is not a life changing experience. After awhile it just becomes a regular chair instead of a thousand dollar chair. When guests sit in this chair, they have no clue that it costs a thousand dollars, and when I tell them, they look at me like I’m an idiot and seem generally unimpressed — bragging about my thousand dollar office chair is part of the reason I bought a thousand dollar office chair, so I feel that the value is slightly diminished when I don’t get smug satisfaction out of telling people about it.Oh by the way, this thing ships fully assembled and the box is enormous so I hope you live on the first floor.

This sturdy, incredibly easy-to-assemble chair has a comfortable seat. Its durability will ensure it lasts; the quality and price point confirm that.

    Great Chair

Chair is good and solid. Easy to put together, but some might need help because it’s heavy. Mine came with a dent on each armrest, and I expect for the price of the chair it shouldn’t look used. Also, no idea on warranty. Only thing it came with is a slip of paper telling you how to assemble. No operator instructions.

    So comfortable

Arrived in good shape. Box was a little worn but product was fine. Base is separated from chair which worked great as I had to get it up a narrow staircase. I changed out the carpet wheels for urethane, installed the stem and was good to go. Took me about 10 minutes to figure out the adjustments and I had it set up perfectly. What I love about the chair is it coaxes me into a good form for sitting without feeling forced. I can now work for the day without feeling stiff when I get up after a couple hours. I was a little hesitant about spending this much money. When I think that I’m spending two thirds of my work week in this chair and on my mattress, it’s worth spending the extra money on both if you can swing it.

    Worth it…

Not sure how to write this review except this… is it worth 5 times more than an office depot chair? Hmmm. I look at it like this. It is at the very least twice as comfortable. Maybe more. And the quality, it will last at least 3-4 times as long. So between the two, it is definitely worth it.I specifically wanted relief from leg pain. I can sit at least 2 or 3 times longer in this chair without leg pain. Back pain is not my deal, but the adjustable back system in the chair is a welcomed upgrade.Built quality is great. I’m 58 and have sworn off cheap small monitors as I just can’t take it for long periods. Just got there finally for chairs too. I sat in some $2,000 + chairs and just couldn’t justify the cost… somehow in my mind, a $1,000 ish was okay. I’m happy.

    Awesome Chair

We have had this chair for 4 months now and it is the most comfortable office chair I ever sat in. I work a regular 9 to 5 (more from home than at the office) and study for an extra 4-5 hours every workday so I sit in the chair for really long periods (when I can claim it as all my family members seem to prefer working in this home office since we got this chair :-)). The chair is well padded and none of us has had any issues sitting for really long periods; the moveable arms are comfortable for all of us and easy to adjust; we all find that we have great posture (straight backs and legs with feet flat on the floor) – sitting with great posture has never been so easy or comfortable; and the chair is lovely to look at. For reference, our heights range from 5’3″ to 6’2″ and our weight, 110 to 235 lbs. I recommend this chair and would buy it again.

    Great chair, with funky armrests

Pros: – It’s a really comfortable chair, good for a variety of sitting positions. This isn’t a chair that forces you to have good posture, but rather one that conforms to however you like to sit and provides support. – It comes with the basic features of a nice chair: adjustable seatpan depth, adjustable height, adjustable armrests, and a knob that makes it easier/harder to recline. – Reclining feels really good in this chair. Perhaps because it is so heavy, I can recline very far back without fear of falling.Cons: – The armrests move a bit *too* easily, so sometimes they get out of place while I shift around in my chair. It’s nice that they’re adjustable, so I can move my chair close to my desk without bumping the armrests, but I wish they could fully lock in place. – No lumbar adjustment (although doesn’t bother me)

    It’s a great office chair… BUT

This is a great office chair for those of us who spend our days at computer tasks — very adjustable, very comfortable, very cool looking. But whatever you do, don’t opt for the $50 assembly package. Why, you ask? Because the chair arrives fully assembled. All you need to do is take it out of the box and you are good to go. Why the seller is permitted to market this assembly “service” is completely beyond me. The chair requires ZERO assembly. The guy who came to assemble it was here for approximately three minutes, the time it took him to take it out of the box. So even though I love the chair, I feel like I got scammed into paying $50 extra for absolutely nothing. Buyer beware.

Can a desk chair ever be worth $1,000? This one just might be…

This is a $1,000 chair. If you really don’t need a $1,000 chair, you probably shouldn’t buy one unless you’re incredibly wealthy and can afford to throw down a $1,000 for a desk chair just because you can. However, if you’re like me, i.e. someone who makes a modest living with chronic neck and back pain, this is a godsend. Before I purchased this chair, I used a cheap $100 chair I bought at Costco. To say it’s night and day is probably underselling it. Of course, I wouldn’t expect anything less from a chair that costs 10x as much and nor should you. My advice, if you’re thinking about the purchase but are wary due to the price tag, try it out. One of the best things about the chair is it comes fully assembled right out of the box. So, order it and try it out and if you don’t absolutely fall in love with it like I did right away, return it.

    This Chair Is Amazing!

I’ve had back pain sitting at my desk for a long time. I never thought my old chair was contributing so much to that pain. It was! This new chair, called the Gesture, is nothing short of amazing. I am now able to work at my desk WITHOUT PAIN. Yesterday I sat in it for 5 hours straight and had no pain. I’m amazed. This chair is not cheap but it is worth every dollar. I’m so glad I bought it. Do the research and read about how this chair works. Believe me, you won’t regret the purchase.

    Update

Update. Figured out problem. Aside from the up/down lever being really really stiff at first, it totally works now and is a fantastic chair. Looks modern, is well-made, and is comfortable because of all the adjustments. Would buy again. Also, would give it 5 stars, but my freak out at the thought of having to return it gives me pause, as it would have cost me $350 to ship back via UPS.

    Top Notch

10 plus hours of sitting never felt so good. I have no more issues concentrating on work because of back and butt issues…unless I’ve eaten something questionable in the morning and drank a bunch of coffee, but that has nothing to do with the chair! I just can’t seem to learn my lesson when it comes to Jack in the Box breakfast burritos, they are yuuuuummmmy, I even replace the shell with a gluten free shell when I get home but they still give me a total blow out sale every other time. Its probably the combo of sriracha sauce and the side of buttermilk ranch I just have to add to it….but anyway this chair is worth every penny! You will not be disappointed…unless you are disappointed by being supported by the strong and supple hands of 1,000 flying fairies. I swear Tinkerbell and her magic homies are hiding out in this thing constantly casting float spells on my backside! That’s why I force my wife to bow down before me and address me as Mighty Pan the Boyish King with Brains of Elder Wisdom when I’m sitting this throne. And the fully adjustable arms are a really nice feature.

Chair is comfortable but a few build quality issues

I find the chair very comfortable and it has alleviated neck, shoulder, and back pain. Despite that, I still have a few issues with the chair. The base (what you sit on) can retract back and forth depending on how much support you need for your legs (usually about 1-2 inches of space between the end of the cushion and the back of your knee). When I adjust the base to the appropriate position for my legs I can feel a lack of cushion on the opposite side of the cushion (where my butt is). I’m only 5ft 10in so I doubt I should be feeling an open area behind my rear while sitting on this chair. My next issue also involves the base. It rocks back and forth by about 1/5 of an inch. I’m not sure if that’s a conscious design decision but it’s annoying when I try to re-position myself in the chair. If I try to push myself up with my legs the base tips forward and makes the process of readjusting a bit more fatiguing. My last issue so far is the clicking noise the chair makes when I lean back in it. I understand why my cheap old chair creaked and clicked when I would move back and forth. For this price would expect the chair to operate silently however. Again, I’m only 180 lbs so this should not be an issue with a $1000 chair.Build quality issues aside, the ergonomics suit me very well. I sit in my chair up for up to 16 hours in a day and this chair does not fatigue me.

Wish I would have bought this sooner! Great chair for long hours of sitting

Comes almost assembled. So, easy to set up. Arms, seat, back and recline are all adjustable. Very few chairs have arms that actually support my short arms. This one does! Very comfortable even after hours of sitting.

    Terrible packaging damages fine product

Yesterday this much-awaited, much-needed chair (Steelcase Gesture in light color) was delivered promptly, first thing in the morning. I love everything about it: (1) it came fully-assembled, (2) the minimal knobs were easy to adjust (note: the tiny back stop lever attached to the rear back tension knob is vital for choosing 1 of 4 recline settings), (3) my back w/ its issues feels comfortingly and warmly nestled by the lumbar support, and (4) the 2nd recline setting allows me to sit back from computer work, leisure read (w/ legs up under desk), or think deep thoughts.HOWEVER, on unpacking the chair from the giant box, we discovered a deep compression mark across the right armrest (see photos). This seems to have been caused by pressure from the packing material–just a large empty cardboard box which evidently dug into the plastic armrest. This does not necessarily affect function, but for nearly $1,000, one would expect a pristine, unmarked product!Better packaging, perhaps molded styrofoam or the like, should have left no such damage. The box exterior also has no upright arrow indicators, and was delivered upside down. Who knows if it had been stored upside down, or what had been placed atop it along the way.I hope this packing concern is addressed. It marred an otherwise gorgeous, well-designed, and useful product.

Finally – a chair I can sit in all day long

I work fully remote and have purchased several office chairs in the past, typically from brands associated with sofas and couches. After a recent hip injury, I was in such pain sitting in those old chairs I realized it was time to make an investment in a true office chair and this one is amazing! While I may not look forward to sitting down to work all day, at least I know I won’t be in physical discomfort anymore. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? 1000 times yes!

Quality Chair and – after glitch – Quality Service

Since I have been sitting in this chair, I rarely think about the fact that I’m sitting in a chair. This speaks loudly to its comfort and to how it supports me; it feels like it is just a natural extension of me. With all other chairs I’ve had, I was constantly reminded that I needed a better chair.I did experience an issue that in the end required a spacer to raise the center hub higher from the carpet, but unfortunately, I fell into a tech black hole in the Customer Care system and it required extra effort to get the support I needed. But once they recognized the issue, they went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with the resolution. So kudos to them for delivering on real, customer-focused service.I recommend both the product and the service based on my experience. For context, I use this for my WFH office chair which is from 3-5 days per week.

Has not held up well in under 2 years of owning it

This is a comfortable chair, but not at all justifiable by its price tag. After 1 1/2 years the chair already has a lean/movement from side to side if I lean at all one way or the other. I weigh nowhere near the weight limit. I have another chair that was 500$, it’s basically the same comfortability wise and it does not have a wobble. It is also almost 5 years old. In summary, it’s comfortable, but it has not held up nearly as well as it should for the price. Just save some money and get something around 500-600.

    Not a fan

Assembly, arrival, setup wasn’t the issue. I’ve had this chair for awhile now and it’s fine for most positions compared to most chairs– But I’m a big leaner and this chair isn’t really built for reclining or leaning back. So long gaming sessions where you want to perch up are out of the question. The armrests are adjustable but to a certain limit, I often find the sweet spot I actually want is in between two adjustment latches on the arms.

Helped stop my back issues and more comfortable than the Aeron.

I used a Herman Miller Aeron at work and I like it but it is only comfortable when sitting in a proper typing position. It also really kills my ankle quickly if putting one foot up under the other knee. For home, I was having back issues with a cheap chair so I bought a Steelcase Gesture and love it far more, my back issues went away within the week. The only thing I miss from the Aeron is the mesh to keep things cooler, but everything else I like a lot more. I’ve really come to love the really adjustable armrests, I move them around constantly all day depending on what I’m doing. I’m often adjusting the tension of the back as well to lean back and have it always effortlessly have me at the exact point I want. With the arms, I often have them in either a spot comfortable for typing, wide for playing PC games with mouse and keyboard, or in tight right up to my sides for gaming with a controller and my arms by my side.

    Worth the money

After years of cheap home office chairs following many more years of even cheaper corporate office chairs I splurged at 80 years old and bought this one. I’m loving it. Back feels better, infinitely adjustable and a real pleasure to use.

    Saved my back

I never knew chairs could be this comfortable. And I’ll admit, when I first sat in the chair It was extremely uncomfortable. Once I adjusted the chair it got a little better but it wasn’t until after a few days that i started to notice a lot of my back pain from sitting in chairs all day was gone. This is easily one of the best purchases I have made in the last few years. Completely blows the $300 chairs from Office Depot or Staples out of the water.

    It’s a bit rolly

We’ve been enjoying this ergonomic office chair for a couple of years now and it is still the best seat in the house. I just wish it were a little less likely to roll or had some sort of locking mechanism on the wheels. If your floor is not perfectly flat it can end up gliding across the room and smashing into other furniture.

    Comfy, consider the headrest

I’m bad at my posture, so this chair takes getting used to if you have poor posture. My neck suffers a bit, again, because of my posture. But it might be worth investing in the neck support for this chair for like $100 more.

Best Chair I’ve bought, but slight disappointment

First off, I wanted to start by saying that this is the best chair I have purchased ever. I work 10-12 hours a day from home at my computer in this chair, and then spend additional time gaming. The support and comfort that this chair offers has been next to none. The first week using this chair, my back pain had already subsided. The first few days, my spine would crack and decompress with the great lumbar support and the way the chair perfectly supported long sitting sessions. However, all of this being said, i do have some disappointment. At $1,400 for a chair supporting up to 400lbs, I am curious as to why the back has already started to creak. I am 6’4″, 250lbs, and within a month, leaning back or putting any pressure on the back of this chair is causing it to creak. I understand that long sessions can cause wear and tear… but 1 month… $1,400… steel build and not plastic… makes the chair feel cheaper than it actually is.

Comfort and Good Posture Rolled into One

After purchasing this inanely expensive chair for my home office, I must admit one glaring truth. Not all chairs are created equally. From the moment I sat in this chair, it felt like it was tailor made for me. I’ve purchased several computer chairs and this is the first chair that fits my body contours like a glove. If you have the cash, can you really put a price on your back health? Highly recommend this product!

    Worth the price tag

First, I’m not an expert in ergonomics. I haven’t been slamming my behind on a large variety of cushions for decades. I’m just a young person who spends a lot of time at his computer. Before this I’d tried a few cheap chairs you could grab at any supermarket, as well as one ‘gaming’ chair that cost $400 and was a very uncomfortable experience. It was a significant investment of my money to get this for myself. But wow. It’s worth it. A year and a half on and I find myself lacking any complaints. No back pain, shoulder aches, etc. I can sit here for hours and only stretch occasionally and I’m perfectly fine. This is such a contrast to my previous seats, where I’ve been squeezed in by a tight cushion or badly designed armrests. The adjustability of the armrests give me all the room I could want, and the cushion is open to air to make it as breathable as possible. I am so happy with this and I cannot emphasize enough how much it is worth it.

Cool design with good comfort, and support.

I’ve been sitting in this chair for a couple years now, it’s still holding up much better than most other office chairs I’ve owned in the past. Every morning when I come into my office, I’m actually excited to get to work because of this chair. I sit down in it and immediately feel like I’m at my command center, ready to take on the day! From a comfort perspective, I love the fact it has multiple chair back positions, I find myself shifting in various chair modes throughout the day. It actually took me a while to actually figure out this chair had multiple settings for the back and the seat, but that’s probably on me. One thing that bugs me about the chair is that when sitting in it for extended periods of time it starts hurting my backside which is usually about the time I get up to take a break. In terms of design, I love how the arms easily extend out and can be adjusted easily on the fly. The Steele Blue color I bought is so cool and still looks good even after a couple years of use.Would I recommend this chair? Absolutely. In fact, I already did to a friend and she loves it too.
