    Great Product, Everything Just works.

Literally the best headset I’ve ever worn, and I have gone through quite a few in the last few years. I work from home so I wear my gaming headsets pretty much 16 hours a day, more than 5 days a week. I’ve purchased and used the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2, Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX and the Logitech G533 Wireless in the last 3 years. All of them broke, bricked, or are no longer able to connect wirelessly to ANYTHING, in less than 1 year of use.But the Steelseries Arctis Nova 7P? HOLY HELL. It sounds awesome, it’s comfortable, the mic (though seemingly flimsy) sounds great and is very durable. The materials are sturdy, but light weight. The cups are closed but don’t make my ears all sweaty. And the bluetooth multipoint? LITERALLY the best! I connect it once and it *JUST* works. No disconnects (unless due to inactivity), no toggling back and forth, no fiddling with cables… you just turn it on, connect it to both machines and you’re done.I use a USB switch for work and I was constantly having to tinker with other headsets whenever I switched between machines. NOT the Steelseries. They’re most reliable, consistent, comfortable, quality headset I’ve ever owned.Only problem is it has no Ambient Surrounding settings. 360 audio doesn’t mean in the real world (but it didn’t really seem like virtual surround sound while playing games either). I can’t ever hear anything going on around me. Which is a plus for some, but I have a dog with pica and I need to listen for the tell tale sounds of his scrounging or choking. Been to the emergency room once already… so I just can’t keep using this headset. But man, they’ll be missed.

I am truly blown away by how good these feel

I will always prefer wireless speakers, I can move around and not worry about accidentally ripping my cord out. I used to have some Turtle beach headphones that were amazing but the cord used to always be my issue. After many variations of different headphones I decided to try a Steel Series since I have seen them talked about by Linus Tech Tips. Here are my thoughts:1. Immediately as I took them out I found them very small looking compared to my previous headphones. I normally require pretty large headphones since I have a large head.2. Upon putting the headphones on I noticed that they were insanely comfortable, the ear cups were just right for my ears, the even turned a bit to actually fit flat on my ears, the cushion was extremely comfortable. The only issue I had was to pull them down a bit was very stiff but once that was done it was great from there. This really shocked me as I am accustomed to larger headphones requiring time to adjust to but these immediately I felt comfortable.3. Connectivity – There are two types of connections, one using the usb dongle and the other being bluetooth. After trying to parse the manual, I eventually discovered that there are two buttons for power, one for bluetooth and one for the usb dongle. The initial setup with the usb dongle worked smoothly. Bluetooth worked fine the first time and then I ran into an issue trying to pair it to a second device. After some googling I realized that the bluetooth had two modes, one mode just turning it on and another for pairing mode (for pairing you have to hold it down for about 10 seconds). After I figured that out it worked like a charm.4. Sound Quality – The headphones sound amazing, either that or I just been using crappy headphones for too long. There wasn’t too much base and it was clear as can be, there is even a noise cancelling effect when you wear them.5. Long term connectivity – I did notice that the connectivity dropped once on me but I am not sure if it had something to do with me being out of range a bit or the call I was getting on my phone. I haven’t noticed anything since.6. Price – They are a bit pricey but so far I think they are worth the money and I am looking forward to see how durable they are.Overall, these are great headphones and I enjoy them immensely.

    Awesome headset overall

Pros: Super comfortable, not too heavy, long battery life. Relatively plug and play on PC. Very good sound out of the box.Cons: Overall a bit pricey given the build quality/microphone quality. Needs Sonar software to sound their absolute best, or to get the most out of the headphone/microphone. Yes, its free, but still -Out of the box, sound quality overall is very good. On PC using Sonar EQ features, the headphones can be made to sound excellent overall, if still a bit etched/bright/harsh at time IMO. The microphone is overall pretty good with AI and other “enhancements”, but I find adjusting the boom a bit annoying as I have to fight it a bit every time I pull it out to get it to rest properly near my mouth. I can always see in in my periphery as well, which can be a little distracting. Its possible that there is better value to be found just investing in a separate dedicated microphone. But having the “all in one” solution is convenient.I am very picky about audio quality, and I find these satisfying, especially after a careful tune. The 40mm drivers can really deliver on the bass, and deliver lots of detail and volume with low distortion.Comfort is excellent, though the clamp is almost too light for my taste. That said, I can wear these for hours with no major comfort problems with or without glasses. But they are too loose, even after I adjust them, for any sort of active wear. These are for sitting/walking around a little. Volume knobs are easy to find, though I’d like a little more resistance in them, and the ergonomics overall beat some of my other headphones for sure. The wifi range (not bluetooth), is quite good – I can play something on my computer and wander pretty far from it and maintain a signal. In terms of cons, I find these headphones a bit awkward to attach/detach from different devices with bluetooth. Its various beeps and boops and breathing LEDs do nothing for me in terms of figuring out how to disconnect from one device while staying connected to another. I’d like it to just tell me what it is trying to attach/detach to like my 7 year old Bose bluetooth speaker. The 2.4 ghz connection does not seem to have a benefit over bluetooth in terms of sound quality, which is a shame, and I don’t know what happens when I break/lose that dongle. The on-board amp gets very loud, though there is some hiss, and one apparently has to enter the Sonar software to shut off the volume limit to get the full volume anyway, a bit of a quirk.Which gets me to another point: the “free” Sonar software is powerful, but it is also really needed to get the most out of these headphones. It is full of quirks – you need the “engine” menu to adjust or shut off the side mic feature, shut off the volume limiter, or to reduce game volume during calls. In the “Sonar” section, you can customize EQs for different inputs, but I found it impossible to copy an EQ I created for the “game” mode and set it to “media” or “aux” as well. Hence I have to repeat the process of doing my 10 point parabolic EQ over and over – tedious. Sliding with a mouse is fine for the uninitiated, but I needed to enter my exact values, and the software makes you click in the tiny boxes, and could not do Q values below 0.5. When listening to Music on my computer, it is also showing up under the “game” mode in the mixer, meaning I have to remember to turn on/off features like “spatial audio” since, while it is fun for games, it is terrible for music. You can drag and drop the “app” to its appropriate section, but this is more setup work. Also, Windows update has broken the Sonar software multiple times (no audio no matter WHAT I did – even audio driver reinstalls!). So far the solution has been to just re-install the Sonar software, easy enough. Still, this is super frustrating, especially the first time it happened because I had ZERO indication of what went wrong.IMO there should be a way to set a “global” EQ (parabolic, not just the sliders which IS available in the “engine” menu, confusingly), if you want. There should also be hotkeys I can set up to turn on/off things like spatial audio, the EQ, or adjust the side mic or other mic features. Heck, why not let me set an EQ and save it to the headphone itself, so I can have it when using these with my other non-PC devices? That would make these even more awesome and let me have consistent sound across devices. As an inferior solution, we could have an engine/sonar app for our phones/tablets, I guess.I still recommend these overall, for those wanting a good headset with a good mic that is fun for games but capable of being great for casual music/movie stuff too. When gaming I am still getting the hang of balancing chat/game sounds since everyone seems to have different microphone quality. I was hoping that one of the many features of this software would be to tame some of the hotter microphones out there. A pair of cheap, non-gaming bluetooth headphones I own seemed to do this a lot better. For the full asking price, I think some of the compromises in terms of material choices, microphone quality, and features are a bit of a stretch. But for the sale price I paid, I think it is about right, especially since the Sonar software really does up the ante if you are going to do a lot of gaming. Lets hope it stays free, otherwise I might have held out for better overall “out of the box” performance.

    Flawless on the PS5

Switched from Turtle Beach Stealths and the improvement is fantastic! My biggest issue with the turtle beaches was they would take forever to connect to my ps5, sometimes not work at all, and drop connection randomly. They also sounded pretty bad compared to these steelseries. The steelseries connects so fast and consistently it’s a breath of fresh air. And connect to Bluetooth on my phone without any issues. It’s great taking calls and using spotify while playing games with the boys. They do really sound great and are very loud (and I still have the volume limiter on in the GG app). I did EQing in the app as well which really helped them sound great. Here’s my favorite EQ settings for immersive sound after experimenting:32 (3.5), 65 (5.5), 125 (4), 250 (1.5), 500 (0.5), 1k (0), 2k (0.5), 4k (2), 8k (1.5), 16k (0)I also like the mic more than I thought I would since that was the one thing really good on the turtle beaches. But it has great sidetone and my friends say I actually sound better so can’t complain.Fits well, definitely looser than the TBs but that also means more comfortable. And I have a small head but they stay on without issue.Highly recommend these!

    Super comfortable, fantastic headset!

When I decided to get a new headset for my PS5 I did some looking around for quality wireless ones and landed on this pair. No matter how many I’ve tried through the years I keep having the same comfort problem – until I got these. Gone is the discomfort of hard plastic rubbing the top of my skull. These are absolutely perfect in terms of wear. They are light, the ear cup material is not too hot and this does not rest heavily on your head. I sometimes use blue light blocking glasses as well and these allow you to comfortably wear frames without any friction. The battery life is really good as well and I appreciate that the power light indicator will continue to change color as the battery drains. So if you have a full charge the light is green, over time it will fade to yellow and then to red and beep for you to know the power is almost out. They charge lightning quick though so I have never had an issue with the battery life. One of the most exciting features is the ability to use dual audio. So you can hook these up via bluetooth to your console, but ALSO your mobile phone. So if you want to listen to game audio, but also a video on YouTube, you can have both going in your ears at once. It’s really awesome! And also makes these an ideal pair for people that might just want them for their mobile devices. Pairing with devices is positively painless and the microphone can be retracted at any time so as not to obscure your face. My partner has borrowed these before for work calls and has never had any issues with audio quality. To me, the sound is fairly balanced, but does not have any in depth equalizer or app that I am aware of. Volume can be relatively quieter than some headsets even at full blast, but it is still more than sufficient to me – especially if you have the dual audio going. Say you have Spotify open on your phone or tablet app, you can control that apps volume while the headset volume itself is separate. This is a really neat option in my opinion and I do it often when I’m listening to music while gaming. These also have spatial audio support, so if your console allows it you can tune these in your console settings if you like the 3D audio in games.Honestly, you really can’t go wrong with these and I highly recommend for their versatility and comfort alone.

    Best headset I’ve tried!

I’ve had the SteelSeries wireless headset for a few weeks now, and I have to say, it’s an absolute game-changer. As someone who’s used wired and wireless headsets before, this one stands out in every way. The setup was a breeze – just plug in the USB receiver, and within seconds, I was up and running. No complicated software, no lag, just smooth, uninterrupted gaming.Sound Quality:The audio quality on this headset is phenomenal. The sound is crystal clear with rich, immersive bass and crisp highs. Whether I’m deep in a multiplayer game trying to catch every footstep or enjoying a single-player experience with an epic soundtrack, the sound is always top-tier. The surround sound feature is spot on, giving me that true 3D sound experience that makes games come to life.Comfort & Design:The headset is incredibly comfortable. The ear cups are plush and soft, and the adjustable headband makes it easy to find the perfect fit. I can easily game for hours without feeling discomfort, which is something I’ve struggled with in the past. Plus, it’s lightweight and doesn’t feel bulky, even after long sessions.Wireless Performance:The wireless connection is flawless. I’ve experienced zero dropouts or latency issues, even during intense online matches. The range is excellent – I can move around my room or even step outside to grab a snack without losing signal. The battery life is impressive too; I get several full sessions of gaming without needing to recharge, and when it’s time to top it up, the quick charge feature is a nice touch.Microphone:The microphone is crystal clear as well. It picks up my voice perfectly while canceling out background noise, ensuring that my teammates can hear me loud and clear. Plus, the mic is retractable, which is a handy feature for when I’m not in the middle of a game and just want to kick back with some music or a podcast.Overall:This SteelSeries wireless headset has everything I could want: amazing sound, comfort, seamless wireless performance, and a sleek design. Whether you’re a casual gamer or a competitive one, this headset will take your gaming experience to the next level. Highly recommend it!

    Perfect

I didn’t get these for Playstation but a work from home call center type job on a mac.I sadly have autoanswer, and it records a few seconds before answering. So I love that I can mute easily and the light to show me when it’s muted, so I can still have conversations or watch something while waiting for a call. They are light weight, and I can wear them a full 8 hours and not be bothered. Easy to control volume and you can hear yourself if you’re so inclined.

    Good sound, bad software

Product seems to be durable. Their software does enable 3d sound, however, I don’t like how it interfaces with windows. It makes like 10 virtual sound devices for different purposes. Now I have a different volume slider for movies, games, etc. the software is also too busy. Scale it back. I just want good sound. There has to be a better way.

    Very good quality and audio

This headset is incredible the only reason why it is not 5 stars is because the pairing can be confusing and might not work for a bit until it has had time to completely pair with your Xbox and/or phone the audio is a good as it could be and has a long battery life and fast charging speed easily one of the best headsets on the market anywhere

2 devices at once sold me

I was debating between this set and the longer battery life set but like the title says.. the 2 devices sold me. I have a work from home set up where my personal computer is next to my work computer. I used to have to switch between headsets to join work meetings and online calls. Now I can have my headset connected to my personal computer and Bluetooth connected to my work computer. It’s fantastic not switching and simplifing my setup to so be more user friendly. This is the second steel series headset I’ve owned and they are so comfortable I can wear them all day long at work and then put them back on to game after the kids go to bed. They are lightweight and sometimes I don’t even remember I’m wearing them. They are snug to my head and don’t fall off super easy. Although I wouldnt headbang with them on.Overall I’m very pleased and would recommend these to anyone that wears headphones all day.

    This should be the standard

The headset is super light and beautiful, the range also allows me to keep connected for those quick runs to get water between matches. Due to its light construction you definitely don’t wanna be rough with it, it’s got a lot of metal but also that only goes so far, it’s not that durable. The sound quality is perfect, the program you need to install allows you to alter the sound whatever way you want, I believe this should be the standard of audio quality. One complaint is that it is just the standard, it’s not like some miracle making you feel it. Just gives you the sound you need in a clear, smooth way.The value of this headset is dependent on how you use it, I have used it mostly for gaming, watching movies and just going out for a walk and I am quite happy with my purchase. The dual-channel between Bluetooth an it’s dongle means you can be scrolling things on your phone all you want without interrupting your gameplay. It holds a charge easily for 2 nights of straight action an can charge in a matter of minutes compared to the hours you spend with it (if I had to speculate the time to charge conversion is something like 6 minutes of charge for every hour of play)

    Versatile headset

After a lot of research I chose this as a multipurpose gaming/music/travel friendly headset. So far I’ve been very satisfied with the Nova 7.I’ll start with my only small complaint: they almost slip off my head sometimes. I might need to buy bigger ear pads to make them more secure on my small head but so far it hasn’t been too much of an issue. I like the pads it comes with but I have them on the tightest setting and they just don’t have quite enough clamping pressure for me.But I love everything else about them. They hold a charge very well, they sound great once you play with the settings (they were only ok right out of the box), and the mic hides away completely which is neat. I use them mostly on Bluetooth to listen to audiobooks or music from my phone, but also for gaming and even some online meetings. Everyone on the other side says the mic is crisp. I like that you can independently turn on the Bluetooth or wifi or both. Makes it easy to control what it is connected to.A few key points:-range is plenty for me to walk a few rooms away before it starts to cut out-mic feeds in outside sounds so you can hear your surroundings if needed. This can be turned off completely or you can mute your mic which disables it temporarily.-sound quality is not going to sound fantastic until you play with the equalizer. You have to download their software to set it on the headphones directly, and/or you can set the equalizer on each of your audio sources.-you can use them while charging but they also charge pretty quickly-mic retracts. This is cool and convenient for me but probably best for people who don’t use the mic all the time because I’m not sure how well it will hold up to frequent handling.I am switching to these from the Sennheiser game one, which I actually really liked. Very different headsets but just in case anyone could use a comparison, here are my thoughts. The sound quality on the Nova 7 is comparable but required some set up, while the Sennheiser was great for music and general use right out of the box. The Nova 7 has a huge advantage for being Bluetooth and WiFi capable and still allowing wired connection. The Sennheiser was more secure on my head and overall slightly lighter and more comfortable. The mic on the Nova 7 is slightly better but both are fine for gaming. The Sennheiser has an open back which I prefer for airflow and being able to hear things around me. The Nova 7 background noise feed is not as good as actual open back imo since it can get a little annoying if you turn the volume up (because it can sound like loud static noise). But you can mute it or increase volume at the source instead of the headphones. There’s also a setting in the software to lower the volume on this. Basically, there are so many features you can make it work just the way you want, it just requires more fiddling than the Sennheisers.

    Great gaming headphones

I had purchased these alsong with the Sony Pulse Elite. The Elites had slightly more clarity in the hights, but withing a game it didin’t make much of a difference. Overall they have very a similar sound profile.I kept the Steelseries due to their amazing comfort. You forget you have them on, even after several hours of gaming.I like the volume wheels over buttons. They pair up every time I turn on my PS5. No connectivity issues so far.Worth the investment. Highly recommended.

Probably the best wireless gaming headphones out there right now

I have been using these headphones for a little over a month and honestly I love them.Battery: The battery life is pretty solid on these. I typically use them around 4-5 hours a day and they will last me about 3 days before needing to charge them. Charging time for me is typically around an hour or two at the most. I charge using my macbook charger since its easier than plugging it into my PC and that probably helps with the fast charge times. This is perfectly fine as USB-C auto-regulates the power draw so there is no chance of damaging the headphones.Bluetooth: The bluetooth connection on these is great. The main selling point for me with these headphones was the ability to have them connected to my PC (via the dongle) and my Nintendo Switch (via bluetooth) at the same time. That way I can listen to a YouTube video or Twitch stream while playing switch games and have both audios play at the same time, which I can confirm it does really well.Buttons: The buttons and scrolls wheels are great, I love being able to slide the volume wheel to adjust volume on the fly and the buttons are pretty easy to memorize for which does what. I will say the chat/game volume wheel on the right side is kinda pointless for me because I rarely am playing with other people but I guess its nice to have for those that want it.Headband: The headband is fairly comfortable AFTER adjusting it. Even with it adjusted as much as I could this headset does feel pretty loose compared to something like the HyperX Cloud II’s which are very snug and personally are the most comfortable headphones I have ever worn. However if you aren’t a fan of snug headphones these are great and are still very comfortable.Earcups: The earcups are pretty comfortable and breathe well. I live in Florida where it gets hot pretty easily but I have had no issues wearing these for a long period of time. They are a cloth/fabric material so if you prefer pleather you will need to order aftermarket earcups.

Comfortable but Not Perfect Out of the Box

When my older Arctis headset (which I loved) started to die on me I decided to try this newer iteration as a replacement. They are still very comfortable and work well, but I definitely noticed a difference in sound quality. This might be more a case of it sounding “different” rather than worse per say, but they definitely didn’t sound as “full” to me.I had to use Steel Series’ Sonar software to find a preset that sounded closer to my original headset. This definitely improved the sound, but still felt lacking. You could probably get it to sound better if you want to spend the time in the software adjusting every single slider and sound curve, but I settled with one of the presets to save time.It seems like Steel Series is now really pushing you to use their Sonar software to control the headsets. Before when plugging in the older Arctis headset you would get two separate channels under your audio options for the chat and game volume which was very straight forward. Now there are multiple “devices” created for each channel controlled in Sonar. This isn’t a huge deal and once you get used to the software it works well, but it can be pretty confusing if you were just expecting to plug the headset in and use it like the original one.I will say the flexibility the software provides can be useful at times and the ability to connect to a Bluetooth device while still hearing your desktop audio is nice, but it does require some tinkering to get it sounding decent as I found the sound quality with the default settings to be disappointing.

I bought this for my daughter, and I’ve been a bit jealous as it seems to be an improvement even over my arctis 7.The feature where she can have it connected to her phone and her computer at the same time is pretty awesome. Also, the sound quality seems to be superior to mine.We did have a defective part but Steel series is amazing with their customer service.

    no chatmix

This is my 4th steelseries and evidently they got rid of the chatmix dial in favor a useless sidetone dial. Apparently that’s a playstation thing because they don’t support chatmix wheels because reasons, so they converted it to a useless dial. Excuse me for assuming after my last 3 headsets that the dial controls in the advertised pictures controls the chatmix. That’s the ONLY reason I buy steelseries. PUT IN THE TITLE AND THE PICTURES “NO CHATMIX” for the P version, thanks. Also it’s smaller than the Arctis, my ears aren’t huge or anything but it feels like it was made for child ears.update: I revised the star rating because I found through the software you can mix the chat (in game I assume) with keyboard shortcuts; I made the arrow keys mix the chat. But still, would be nice to say it loud for us habit havers that there is no hardware chatmixer and to buy the other models, it’s not just the color scheme that’s different!

Excellent sound and simultaneous wireless and Bluetooth is fantastic

I purchased these to use with my newly built pc so I didn’t have to keep disconnecting and reconnecting my SS Arctis 9X between that and my Xbox Series X. And also because my 9X cannot use wireless and Bluetooth simultaneously on PC. I will start by saying that these sound excellent. And my friends have told me the mic sounds great. I was already a fan of Steel Series because of my 9X’s, and these have lived up to my expectations easily.Pros:1. Wireless and BT! I love being able to hear my game/chat and also listen to something on my phone at the same time. Or answer a call while playing.2. Lightweight/Comfort. I can wear them all day and it doesn’t bother me at all. And the headband is super comfortable.3. USB C charging. I have a lot of USB C cables for all my other devices and my 9X is the only thing that uses Micro USB so I’m glad they updated these4. Build quality feels solid. Some people complain about them breaking or feeling cheap, but mine feel great. Though I do take very good care of them.5. Battery life/charging. The battery lasts pretty long and they charge pretty quick.Cons:1. They aren’t quit as comfortable as my 9X are. Though they are still pretty comfortable so I don’t even like counting this as a con.2. The buttons (power, BT, mute) and volume control/chat mix wheels aren’t as easy to find or control while I’m wearing them as my 9X.3. The mic isn’t as flexible as I’d like. It always pulls out into the same position and doesn’t adjust as easily as the 9X.Conclusion: Overall I am extremely happy with these. I couldn’t afford the go with the Nova Pro Wireless or even the Arctis 9 which would have been my first two choices. And I got these for $130 which is $50 cheaper than you can get them most other places. So far, they have been worth every penny and all of the cons I listed are just me nitpicking and none of them are even close to a big enough deal for me to rate them any less than 5 stars. I have only had them a week so far, but I am currently going through a pretty aggressive treatment for cancer and can’t work so I am home all the time and use these almost all day everyday. But if I do run into any issues, I will update this review.I would highly recommend these if you are in the market for a mid-high range wireless headset for PC. My only other non-SS headset in the last few years is the RIG 800 PRO HX, which was also an excellent headset, but I would take the Nova 7 anyday over those.

    Game Changer

I just purchased a pair of 700 gen 3 turtle beaches had to return them almost immediately they kept crackling sounded horrible. I decided on these as a replacement from the moment I took them out and felt how light they were I fell in LOVE then when I plugged them in. OMG where have these things been my whole gaming arse life? Sound AMAZING 👏 I literally can hear the finest of sounds in my games it unbelievable how great these work.

    I’m rather happy.

My apartment sucks as I have a wall unit for ac with no grades of cooling, there is only on or off and the decibels it puts out is unreasonable. So the ability to have simultaneous output from two separate sources, a dongle and a Bluetooth, at the same time is wonderful. Also the fact that it works great with both my ps5, my PC, and others is a great thing. That’s honestly the point where you should buy this headset. It’s a good headset on it’s own but that’s why you are buying this over the 5x. That being said I would suggest downloading the steel series software before you start using it so you can fine tune it. Battery life is great, and I also like how low profile they are in comparison to other similar headsets.

    I’m satisfied

These sound good and feel comfortable. I don’t have any issues with them falling or slipping off my head. The dongle is ridiculously long—I will definitely be buying a shorter USBC to USBA adapter.

    Amazing headphones

I’m not an audio engineer so I can’t give you the specifics about these headphones. What I can say is that as a gamer I’ve gone through ALOT of headphones. These ones are comfy, and they just sound amazing. Really easy to hear things like footsteps that my friends miss. They also sound amazing when listening to music. Just be sure to download the gg software as for safety reasons by default they lock some of the headsets capabilities so as to not harm the general populations ears, you need that software to unlock the headphones fullest capabilities.

This headset (SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7) is the best PC headset I’ve ever owned (for 55 years)

The engineers that developed this headset (SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7) got everything right (for once) with this Steel Series headset.* Simultaneous Bluetooth and PC/console connectivity (can use phone and gaming at the same time). Can just use this headset for a phone call too.* Locks “height” of headset for head size* Nice flexible mic with red mute LED light on the mic itself.* Mute button is a hard push-button switch that you can FEEL is in or out (two-position locking push-button)* comfy ear foam that is long lasting* comfy replaceable rubber piece for above the head.* long lasting battery* wireless dongle works on the PS5* Has a analog dial for the “Mix Chat” audio, so you can turn down the game sound to hear chat better… with an actual dial on the headset. Also can turn chat audio down to hear game sound better with same dial.* Also has an analog dial for volume* This was off the top of my head… I may have forgotten more features… please read description for a full list.

Under $150ish and these punch way above their league. The controls on the headset take a minute to figure out, but they sound great and the mic is awesome

Great sound and features, but very loose fit

These headphones sound great, and the microphone is great quality as well. I love the dual simultaneous bluetooth usb connection — it’s great for connecting to my phone and game console at the same time. The physical mute and volume meters that do not rely on the OS of the device to cooperate in order to work are great. However, the fit is terrible. If I tilt my head 45 degrees, they will shift on my head. I’m a big guy, I don’t think my head is small. But there is no clamping force. These are useless for VR. They are so annoying to move around with. There is also mediocre noise isolation. Some nerds probably enjoy this for the soundstage, but I do not care about that — I just want ambient noise to be cut out and I want my audio to be private. These aren’t great for that. I wouldn’t spend extra on the blutooth feature next time, I didn’t realize there was a cheaper model that excluded that feature.

    Pretty Good

I very much enjoyed the headphones while I had them, I had no problem setting it up and was easy to get the hang of, I didn’t notice anything to special about the sound quality but at times I thought it was very quiet, the mic seemed to be decent at least, I never got any complaints about it and I like how it stores into the ear when not in use. The build quality seemed to be fine nothing to write home about but it didn’t fall apart, charging and battery life absolutely the best part of it, charged very quickly and lasted days before getting low. The main issue I had with this is the app or software. I liked how much control you can have over your audio but there mutiple times where it randomly wouldn’t recognize the headset and wouldnt play audio through it, I couldn’t figure out a singlur solution to it but reinstalling the software worked one time. The last few months I had it I had a problem where everytime I turned the headset off the app would choose a different media to play through so I had to manually select the headset and mic each time. Overall i’m pretty happy with the useage I got out of it

    Actual gamer review

I got this headset earlier this year and I gotta say that if you dont have your settings right they can be infuriating.4/5 because of the learning curve getting your sound settings just right. If it wasnt a PITA I would have given them 5 stars because not only is the surround sound on point; they sound amazing with music; and they come in with the steel series app which is absolutely fantastic.

I bought this ones to replace my old Cloud Stingers. It was a little uncomfortable in the beginning but the materials and the fit are good. I like the design and the volume controls. I have not tested the range but right now, it works fine.

    Pairing a problem at first

Couple of things. I don’t like the headband as much as I did with the Steelseries Arctic 5, which I felt was more elastic and easy to adjust to a smaller size for my head. The new one is just as comfortable, but I can’t really make it smaller and tighter to my head like I could the Arctic 5. Second, out of the box it was supposedly paired with the dongle, but I had issues in not being able to hear the sound from the computer even though I hooked up everything and the computer said it was connected to the headphones. I also couldn’t turn it off. I looked into this and other people had reported the same issue. I had to let the power run on the headphones until they turned off and then reset it and the dongle and re-pair. Once I did those steps I had absolutely no problem turning it off and on and pairing it and then it worked perfectly with my computer that is 4 years old as of this time. I can’t really speak to any special features, but my voice sounds clear and crisp to others, even without the mic boom extended — so I usually leave it inside the earcuff. Had no problems connecting it with any software like discord and other games. I feel like it really has a great connection to the system, unlike previous logitech wireless headphones I’ve had. Only complaint I had is that there isn’t a plug for the charger cord to go into an actual outlet — and since my computer goes to sleep – it stops charging if I just have it plugged into the computer, plus the computer keeps telling me it doesn’t recognize the USB. Luckily, I have a plug adapter on hand from various things so I can plug it into an outlet — but not everyone does. Despite these detractors, I still really love the Steelseries brand for sound and voice. Noise cancellation works pretty well and the earcuffs don’t press too tightly against my ears.

    Mixed feelings

Sound quality is great but the physical design is far worse than the original Arctis 7 in my opinion. The audio dials feel cheap and crappy. Especially the game/chat mixer dial, which no longer has a nice tactile response when you balance it evenly. You have to adjust the knob really slowly to be able to feel when its in the standard position. I also hate the positioning of them because they’re all the way in a little corner of each ear cup where you can barely touch them. I generally dislike the knobs. The rest of the headset seems fine, construction wise, but of course time will tell. The mic is what you’d expect on a headset, halfway decent. Also not a fan of the Steelseries Sonar software. It has its conveniences but I can’t stand that I now have an extra 5 virtual audio devices and that I can’t get rid of any of them. I wouldn’t mind it so much if I could turn some of them off entirely. Why would I want to route all my computer audio inputs and outputs through Steelseries’s proprietary software? The original arctis 7 just had the mic input and two audio outputs which registered separately on my PC’s devices. That was all I needed. It was simple, useful, and most importantly didn’t require me to open up extra programs which now have to run in the background using up my computer’s resources. I’ve seen people complain that the software makes their games lag and if I start experiencing that then the review will drop to a 1 or 2.Would return and get something else if there was any other company making headsets with the mixer knob, but I think Steelseries is the only one. Is it a bad headset? No, but stop trying to fix what isn’t broke. But hey, thank god that part of the premium price I paid went towards interchangeable speaker plates and headbands. Being able to change the color of 20% of the headset totally makes up for mediocre product design!

    Sidetone = Yes!

Just an initial review having gotten these a few days ago. My Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Max died after a few months, and I wanted to try something else. They were heavy with too much clamp, full of connection issues. I was trying to find a backup that had good sidetone. It’s hard to find any documentation on what headsets have any sidetone, so I wanted to add to this for anybody else looking for it. The Arctis Nova 7x does have a fairly good sidetone, but it requires a few tweaks to use it well. This walkthrough is mainly for Xbox, I haven’t refined the sidetone for PC play. Could be the same, I’m guessing. You’d just be using your system volume mixer.First, when you get these, install Steelseries GG software from their site. Go into the Engine tab and click on your headset. No need to plug them in wired, just use the USB setting on the dongle. Turn the sidetone to max. You might notice it’s still not super strong. But a good way to boost it is when you get back to your Xbox, turn your main volume dial up fairly loud. You’ll notice the sidetone increases too. At higher volumes you can whisper to yourself, and it sounds great with no lag. But now your game is probably going to be too loud. Turn your game/chat mixer on the other ear, almost down to no game sound, the lowest setting you can find. I found this to be a good balance. The chat mix wheel I find is pretty sensitive, because of its 0-100-0 functionality. So if you bump it, your game can easily get too loud. I have found though that once you get a friend on the other line in a party, the sidetone does get a little more muffled than if you’re playing alone, but still better than none at all. I think the sidetone could still use a boost on the headset settings side.Overall I’m super happy with these so far. No connection issues whatsoever. You will need a dongle adapter for the USB-C dongle on your Xbox. They’re super light, and VERY comfortable, 10x more comfortable than Turtle Beach’s. The dials are a little loose and plastic feeling, but not bad. I do wish the mic could extend about another half-inch, I think this would make the sidetone even more effective.

Comes With a Cute Foldable Cutout

I really like how it can connect to Bluetooth and through the wireless dongle concurrently. I’ve had Bluetooth earbuds that advertise multipoint connections, but those ones just swap between devices when it detects audio rather than allow you to hear both simultaneously.I dislike how tight these feel around my head. My previous headphones were very comfortable; I could wear them all day. These ones make my head feel constricted and my ears hot. You can adjust the height of the headphones but not how tight it wraps around your head as far as I can tell. Another negative is that it slips around my head when I tilt it forward or backwards. The microphone is decent out of the box; crystal clear but a tad on the soft side and not very authentic sounding. The audio is also plenty good out of the box. I’d say the sonar software isn’t required to be pleased with the product. I personally haven’t downloaded it, but I’m sure it would allow for a greater set of customization and improve the sound and microphone experience. There is also some side tone when your mic is on, whether you are in a call or not, that amplifies the sound of your surroundings. You can mute your mic to stop this.My final observation I will mention is in regards to the battery indicator. It’s not very specific. The indicator stays green between the wide range of 50% to 100%. Even while charging you can’t really tell if it’s close to being fully charged. I can confirm though that the charging indicator will turn off by itself when the battery is at 100%.Update: After spending more time using these headphones, I have a few new observations to add to my review.I noticed sound leaks through the foam earcup cushions. If there’s anyone around you and the sound is at or above a medium volume, it can be heard. Likewise, the microphone can pick up sound from the drivers above a certain threshold. The headphones have been stretched to fit my head better. I can wear it for longer periods of time now without feeling like my head is going to explode, though I stick to my original sentiment of it not being the most comfortable. Finally, I will also mention the audio has gotten glitchy on me a couple of times. The first time this happened I just did a quick reset to fix it. The second time I just waited, and after roughly 5 – 10 seconds it fixed itself. I’m assuming the connection momentarily became weak. I’m not sure why as I was sitting right next to the dongle both times.

A decent headset for most users

I bought this headset after using wired headset for my PS5. I just wanted to be totally wire free while playing. Over all this headset gets the job done and then some. The multi point connection is nice, but not a feature I can really see myself using as I don’t play too much online and need to take phone calls at the same time. Most times I get a call, I pause or exit the game to focus on the call so I don’t miss anything in the game or the call. The sound quality is great and overall a very strong showing. I like that it works with the PS5’s 3D Audio. You can really hear where the sound is coming from so you know where to look. The mic is pretty good, but not the best I have ever used. The main reason this is only 4 stars is that I just doesn’t seem loud enough at times, the cups let it a little to much sound from time to time, and at least with my head, the headband doesn’t get tight enough. Those are not reasons to not get this headset just some problems I had. When I really really want to be fully in the game I might for back to the wired headset, but 85 percent of the time I can see myself using this headset and be perfectly fine.

    exactly what i need

SteelSeries is a brand I’ve come to trust. Just a solid product all around. No issues whatsoever with plug n play on Fedora 40, which should clear it for every other Linux distro. There’s no weird drivers needed, the included dongle is bluetooth, but I find it to give a stronger signal than my onboard unit. The design of the headset is straightforward and simple, not prone to mechanical failure. My previous headphones basically disintegrated in under a year (never buying corsair peripherals again) and these compared to those feels like one is made of steel (heh) and the other paper mâché. The design of the retractable mic is slick and honestly you wouldn’t know it was there unless you were told. The sound quality of the microphone is above average. The sound quality of the headset is well above average. The battery life is very well above average. Charging time is average. Price is fair, and I got these on sale.I only have a few very minor gripes. The power button sometimes doesn’t register you holding it down, you have to hold it a specific way (i have large thumbs and it is tiny!). All the female attachment ports are recessed, which is great for keeping things plugged in, but it is quite difficult to do a no-look hookup. Sometimes when returning from idle you need to power off and on again. The rubber head strap sometimes catches my floofy hair. And finally, there was a very strange build decision to make the outside of the ear shell (where the logo is) a magneticly attached plate, so it will pick up say a 6 inch metal ruler from my desk from time to time.TLDR minor gripes do not affect my rating as one of the best price to quality wireless headphones on the market.

    Love them.

Pros1. Honestly. I was pretty scared to get wireless in general cause I hadn’t had good experience b but took the chance with these because you still have the option to use the “aux” jack.Last time I used Bluetooth headphones I got a slight lag but enough to be noticeable. As of right now… zero issues.2. Simultaneous function .. need I say more ?3. Design is simple but still nice.4. If you want to be aware of your surrounding noise or not .. you can change that with a side button on the headphones (how much you want to let in or not).Cons I’d say it doesn’t compare to other headphones in terms of battery life but you should still get minimum a day out of it and 15 mins charge gives you like 6 hours.2. Audio is.. not bad but not great but I also haven’t messed with the app equalizer yet so take that with a grain of salt. This is my 5th headset I’ve bought. And I’m finally happy to say I won’t be returning these. Worth the price. I tried a Bluetooth adapter for my wh-1000xm5’s .. (got a lag)Cheap GameStop $20 headphones… like I said. Cheap. Then $50 wireless but aux too.. sounded horrible and cheapA vmoda boom mic for Sony headphones … (actually didn’t even try this out) just returned. And now these 🙂

    Amazing Headset for All Systems

Don’t be fooled by the fact that this says it is for Xbox. It can be used for PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch as well. It is amazing quality and the sound is great. Also, the fact that it can connect to the different systems and your phone via Bluetooth at the same time is incredibly helpful. Best headset I have used in quite some time and I highly recommend it.

Enjoying – great headphones – few downsides

Great headphones. Work well and pretty sturdy.First time I have bought wireless headphones and I like the freedom (you can put your controller down and go check on your Hot Pocket while leaving the headphones/chat on your head). These SteelSeries seem very durable and made well. There are some options that my old Kraken/Razer ones had that I wish these did… but I am very happy with my purchase so far (been using them for almost half a year and they are doing fine)They only work if the receiver is plugged into a port – so be aware in case you can’t spare a port. The few minor gripes I have is:-I wish they would go louder! (to be fair – I am slightly hearing impaired so wish VERYTHING would be louder). But still… these headphones could go a bit louder.-I wish there were more EQ options – and, at least, options for settings between the chat audio and game audio (but, see above…). There is a dial to increase or decrease chat… but it doesn’t seem to do much and, in my case, I would rather turn the game audio down a bit so I can hear the chat better (sometimes the game audio is very overbearing).-If you get the white ones… watch out. My ear pads were stained dirty from just a few times using. I wish the white model (which looks ‘cooler’ I think…) had blue or black ear pads – or even ability to buy replacements.
