Gets the job done but needs significant tweaking

I don’t write too many reviews, but in this case, I wanted to share my experience.I am an avid flight sim simmer so I was looking for something that was sturdy and at the same time provided me with a more realistic sim experience. The order process went smooth and the boxes were delivered on time and with no problems or cosmetic issues on the inside. The written manual I found it to be very poor, especially the photographs and diagrams I found them not to be very helpful so I relied on the YouTube video that they have explaining the assembly process vs using the instructions. The assembly process takes time – if you follow the video – you will be fine. Where I got stuck was trying to marry the chair into the Volarsim Chassis, that was the hardest part for me. The nuts provided do not fit on the seat rails so I had to press them with clamps into the seat rail so that it could be bolted on to the rails. I could not figure out if that was designed to be that way or they were out of spec.Last thing was the 3 monitor alignment – I have 3 Dell 27″ monitors that are very light and thin. They do have a VESA mount but it’s recessed so, the M4 x 12mm screws provided are not long enough. I purchased M4 X 35mm screws and used spacers/washers to mount to the Volairsim.I could not get the side monitors to line up perfectly and that was because the mount arms have play in them, so all the tolerances once all added up do not allow for a perfect fit. That was disappointing. I will keep trying to finesse it, but looks like the play is still a factor. The other thing is that the accessory keyboard tray, and side mounts are also wobbly/have play, so when you type on the keyboard tray, the tray is not balanced and you type becomes uncomfortable, same thing with HOTAS Thrust-master trays, very wobbly.Seat is comfortable.Overall it’s 4 stars, I wish this thing was made with tighter tolerances, so that all assemblies fit like a glove.

Loose fittings at all the tubing and not wide enough for high end pedals

Over all I would say it is a good pit for the money, however, there are issues that drive me bananas. The first and foremost is the fittings between the square tubing that holds your throttle assembly and flight stick or wheel. They are extremely loose and because there is only one tightening knob in one direction, you cannot get it to stop shifting unless you put some type of wedge in them to prevent it. ( I actually contacted Volair and recommended putting a tightening knob on both axis of the tube and was blown off). The second biggest issue is that it is not wide enough nor tall enough at the foot rest for professional pedals, i.e. thrustmaster tprs, virpil, VKB or MFG’s. I had to remove the base plate of my Thrustmaster TPRs and jury rig a mounting system for them to fit. you have to have the pedals in an exact position or the tops or bottom of the pedals will not fully clear the supports. this is true for the other pedals based on dimensions. one adage would be the keyboard plate, it has a lip on it that you are supposed to have to the side closest to the monitor, however its angled and your mouse and keyboard go flying off so i had to put the lip of it closest to my body, in turn, that metal lip cuts into your wrist. attempted putting a mouse pad on it to reduce the issue but just ran into my mouse then flying off the end again.

The BEST Simulation chair available anywhere near this price point.

I acquired this second hand from a user who took very good care of it. (And let me try it when he had it up at his place). It has handled a year at his place with his and two children’s (the kids were learning to drive on Daddy’s sim!) usage with hardly any visible wear and tear. A bit of paint scuff on some of the adjustable points, but no real corrosion of the metal.Pros:Fits 3 24 inch monitors just fine for that immersive surround experience. All the pre-drilled slots and configurations available.Lighter weight than I would have expected. Easily movable by one person once assembled. Handles being scooted into position nicely.Cons:I have my doubts that some of the heavier 27 inch monitors would be an ‘upgrade’ that might be too heavy. No tilt or height adjustment for monitors Viewing angle is fixed. (Heavier monitors cause drooping slightly)A little low to get in and out of easily for someone with long legs. But that’s more the immersive ‘I’m getting into my race car / plane cockpit’ feel.I may make a 2×4 + plywood riser stand for the unit down the road. Maybe put casters on it so I can preposition / adjust / vacuum around the unit as needed.I would like some additional positioning / size pieces available for the center / right / left seat mounts for joystick / throttle. The rails like to wiggle free depending on how difficult it is for you to get in or out of the seat; once you find YOUR perfect adjustment, I recommend LockTite Blue on the threads of the set screws. Or some similar thread locking compound.Picking accessories becomes an interesting experience – I’ve switched to a smaller keyboard and boost the size of the keyboard tray to give me a little more mouse room. So far it’s being a champ, doing triple duty between PS4, PC Shooters and PC Flight Sims.I jokingly add “No Cup Holder” here as well but race cars and planes typically don’t have said. I’ve a rolling cart that I use to store gaming accessories such as joysticks, keypads, controllers, that houses my flatbed scanner – it now has a cupholder attached to the side of it 😉

Good, but with some issues for non-flight/race gaming.

Product is top notch as far as construction and assembly. I bought mine direct from Volarsim, when they had a sale for the holidays last Christmas. If all you are going to do is play fight sims or race games/sims, it is awesome, hands down. However; it’s not that great or comfortable for regular keyboard/mouse gaming or just doing any work in between games. Where I am seeing cons now is with VR. Again, if you are playing a “sit down” VR game, like a flight/race sim, it’s great. If you need to stand up and play anything else VR, that requires moving around… well, you’re not going to have fun. This thing is so honking big, that it is in the way for any VR games that are not sit down, and it’s not like you can roll this out the way like your desk chair if you want to stand up. I figured I would give my experience with that since VR is getting more popular. If you have Oculus Touch controllers, you need to mount them back a ways behind the monitors, so that the front of the Guardian system is not kicking in while you are sitting in the chair playing a sim, if you lean forward to look around/out the cockpit. I am actually about to sell my Volarsim and just do a chair with flight stick mounts now, so that I can push it out the way for VR gaming time.

Chassis is solid, durable with a realistic cockpit and seat. A great company.

We are a small flight school and high school aerospace program. We are extremely happy with the VolAir Sim system. We have never seen or experienced a flight simulation system that is this well designed for comfort and realism as well as being constructed to fine details. It is a very stable, strong platform on which you can build your racing simulator or flight sim. Our students, of course, vary in size and shape and a benefit of the VolAir Sim chassis over other products is that the seat easily is adjustable to accommodate different people. If you use this personally, you can adjust any of the components to fit your field of view, body type and preferences for maximum realism.I personally have experience with several other training devices and simulators and I simply have never seen one with a chassis designed and built to these high standards. When flying or racing, you should feel that your platform is sturdy, and not prone to shaking or vibrating as the driver or pilot moves. Other products don’t always provide this critical benefit. The VolAir Sim, however, gives a feel of a real race car or airplane cockpit. This simply is the best set up for racing or flying simulation available.Ken Larson, ATP, AGI, CFI, CFII, Gold Seal Instructor

A great seat for a tall dude.

This is an AMAZING chair. I love it. The keyboard tray is a little wobbly and that is the only reason I fault it. The comfort is great, the seat is good, and I use it on a daily basis. Can’t recommend this thing enough. I just wish there was a way to improve the keyboard tray. I pin my knee under it when I type to keep it steady. It was weird to get used to but it works. If you are under 6’1 this might not be a viable option for you.

    LET’S BE CLEAR…

The sim structure does NOT come with the 3 monitors. Those are sold separately. The structure is easy to put together, and the seat is *incredibly* comfortable. The structure can be modified in a variety of iterations, but you will find that it can be a tight fit for any adult height. We ended up disconnecting the seat from the desk panels for a better experience. Be forwarned, you will be spending much more money for the screens, software, & gaming hard drive. Nevertheless, it’s a great investment for getting your simulator started…

it weighs very little making it easy to move around

Does everything you would expect from a sim cockpit. I currently use it as a desk for all gaming/computer related things. While fairly large on the floor space, it weighs very little making it easy to move around.Pros:Adjustable seat(Car seat with forward/backwards movement)Adjustable control mounts(rudder plate, mount for throttle/joystick)Racing seat that has good support and it comfortable for extended play/useCons:Large size for a small roomRecommendations:Have someone help with assembly, lifting the seat and putting bolts in by yourself would be extremely difficult. With another person it only took about 40mins to fully assemble and mount monitors and accessories.

    Pure Raw Awesomeness

Ordered the Volair Sim on 01/03 and received it 01/09. Came in a HUGE 128-lb box, with everything inside bubble wrapped and padded sides. Didn’t take long for assembly, tools were provided, but I found it more efficient with a set of my own ratchet tools. Volair provided two sets of seat sliders, due to the original set had pre-installed bolts that seemed too short to secure. Instructions were easy to read, and all parts were provided.Monitors used were three ASUS 24″ VG248 which fitted like a charm.Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase and complement Volair Sim on a job well done!On a side note, customer service is A1. They have great communication and truely care about your inquires.

Compromising between flight, racing, and regular use means it’s not perfect for any of them.

As a racer, the steering wheel mount may be too high or too far in front of you. This is tweakable to some extent, but not as much as I’d like. Difficult to assemble. Mouse pad could use a bit more room. Can’t give it five stars, but it’s very hard to get a setup that hits all the buttons to be serviceable as a flight sim, racing cockpit, and normal use as well.

    Decent entry level cockpit

Its decent for an entry level cockpit but very tight and cluttered. Keyboard stand is an absolute joke. Flimsy and cheap. The triple monitor arms don’t adjust inward enough so even with the G5s its still like one huge monitor instead of a front monitor with sides. Make adjustment for in game alignment a nightmare

    Great Product!

As an engineer, I spent quite a while looking into available cockpits I could use for my personal simulator. Having spent half my professional career building military-grade sims, I had no idea what to expect from the gamer market. And wanting to help local businesses during the pandemic, I found Volair was only one state away so rather than ship from CA to OH, shipping from neighboring IN to OH was a no brainer!I am EXTREMELY pleased with the Valair cockpit. Seat is very comfortable, the slider makes it easy to adjust, comes with just about everything you need. I decided to use a single large monitor because my room really doesn’t allow for three. By large I mean a 55″ LED TV. Gives me over 60deg HFOV from my eye position. While I didn’t need customer support in the assembly of the components – which came in two very large, very heavy, well-packaged boxes, BTW – response to questions (like, can the mount hold my TV OK) were answered within hours, if that long. Speaking of assembly instructions, they could be a bit better but only because certain components were named but not identified in the drawings. While there are a lot of components, figuring out what went where was not as bad as it might have been, no parts were missing and every nut and bolt was included. Only thing I had to do was ream out a few pre-drilled holes in mounting plates and I was good-to-fly.In summary, the Volair sim is a great buy. Highly recommended.

Great product at a great price.

Ordered my chair for my home office (gaming station) and received it 3 days after I ordered it. I will admit as others have said in the comments you will need to watch the video to be able to put it together but other than that assembly is easy. Quality chassis, easy to customize for all shapes and sizes and at a reasonable price for everything it comes with. I felt bad for the UPS driver lugging the 128 lb. box to the door lol. Anyway I finished building the chair mounted 3 28 inch monitors and started to adjust my PC settings to get the ball rolling. The seat is comfortable, screens are stable, and i was able to use the assembly to hide most of the wires. I also used some of the packing foam under it so that the floor would not have permanent gashes in it from the frame. Happy with the purchase cant wait to enjoy hours of coding and gaming.

Let’s talk about the good stuff. The seat is amazing

I almost gave this five stars. The only reason I didn’t is because the keyboard try and try that you mount the steering wheel or flight yoke too is a bit weak. The keyboard try worries me that it won’t last. The foot area that you should put pedals is a bit too small. Let’s talk about the good stuff. The seat is amazing. Everything is highly adjustable. The frames that support the monitors are nice and stable. I did have trouble with my left monitor bracket. It wasn’t made correctly and the monitor sat about 1/4 inch lower but excellent customer service sent a replacement part. BUY THE ARM RESTS!!! If you use this for DCS World and have a HOTAS you’ll love this set up. I use it with 3 27″ monitors and mostly flight simulator.

    Ease of assembly

These guys went above and beyond helping me obtain a local purchase. Even though they require 24hr in advance to pull up your order, they helped me get the order the same day. Very happy with the product overall. Easy to assemble and has everything needed to get you started in simming. Tools, screws and manual come in a bag and was very easy to follow. All the holes were aligned and I didn’t have to fight the frame to assemble anything.I will continue buying products from these guys for sure.

    Happy first time cockpit buyer

Well this is a review of the setup and feel of the out of the box experience.I love it and am on the big side (about 270, 6’1″). It is comfortable for me without any no standard adjustments. The quality build is hardcore, the adjustments are everywhere for even the smallest tweak in arrangement. I ordered (but havent received yet) the extra armrests and the left side keyboard attachment. The armrest werent necessary but for me seemed stupid not to order, I have no complaint about that being optional. The keyboard left mount I ordered because I use the Warthog A-10 stick and it also me easier keyboard adjustment with that attachment. The setup took about two hours using the video on youtube and I felt very satisfied after completing it.The package itself looked like it had been airdropped without a parachute (not on the shipper but the shipping company) BUT everything was is perfect condition inside.Highly recommended.

    Outstanding Sim Seat

I have purchased nine Volar Sim seats for my company, Squadron Ops Sim Center […]. We run them with 3 27″ monitors, Thrustmaster Warthog stick and throttle, CH pedals, and Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs along with TrackIR. The Volair seat has been outstanding, incredibly durable even under commercial use, and the support from Volair is fantastic. Bart, the owner, is incredibly responsive and involved, even visiting our location personally to see how we were using the seats and get our input on new accessories being developed. The seat configuration itself is amazing and can be customized to any use. We do use the Thrustmaster Warthog stick with the moveable keyboard tray (they are compatible), and have adapted the center stick hardware to mount an MFD directly in front of the seat on the avionics tray.Prior to my purchase I evaluated all of the competitor seats, and Volair is by far the best. After thousands of hours of use I know I made the right decision. As we add new location we will continue to purchase Volair seats without hesitation or reservation.

All in one set up you’ll ever need..

This is awesome when you got everything set up, I like how this could hold everything like keyboard and mouse plus your sound system, flight simulator pads, controllers etc, all in one. You practically don’t need a table anymore. Assembling the parts alone was quite a task, so be ready for it. It took me 3 hours to get this cockpit done. There’s a youtube video that could walk you through the assembly.

    One Year later, still great

Reviewing after one year of daily use. The cockpit has held up very well. Have to hand tighten the hand screws from time to time but thats no big deal. I am still very happy with this rig, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to break into the world of cockpit gaming. I have my configuration set up a bit different from most as I use a wall mounted Monitor and prefer to have a large desk in front of me for notes ect, I left off the Avionics shelf tray, and the monitor mounts, And the cockpit easily tucks under my desk. It is still fully functional and stable, but allows me to do actual work as well when needed, and just looks like a fancy car chair tucked into the desk when I might have company over, and not want to let them know I am a power nerd. Highly recommend.

This is awesome. It has been the single best addition to my home flight simulation system. It has totally transformed the whole flight simulation experience making the experience much more realistic.. A must have for the serious home flight simulation enthusiast. If I had to come up with anything less than stellar to say about this it would be that the seat can become uncomfortable on long flights, but this can be easily resolved by sitting on some padding such as a small pillow or padding for an auto seat.

This seat is fantastic, and comfortable for everyday use.

I use it for my VR seat in the basement for about 6 months now (HTC Vive) in both flying (WarThunder, DCS, FlightSimulator) and driving setups (Project Cars, Dirt) using the Thustmaster Warthog with Thrustmaster TFRP Flight Rudder Pedals and Logitech Driving Force G920 . It takes about 5 mins to swap between flying and driving, I attached a Power strip and USB hub to the Volair for simple cable routing and connecting and disconnecting. Additionally, Volair’s customer support is top notch they are very responsive. I can’t recommend this chair enough.

looks like a real recaro seat in a real sport car

All I needed at an affordable price. A seat for driving simulation, looks like a real Recaro seat in a real sport car. A seat for flying simulation, with a lot of options to install controls. A little bit of work to assemble, but nothing too difficult. Id just like to have the no-tool screws improved: they hurt and do not tight as well as they should. An optimal screw should be easier to tight with fingers and should tight better when screwed in position. Overall very satisfied.Volair Sim: if you could do anything to reduce the weight and to put some kind of sliders under it to move it around easily, it would be great.

Great product quality and design-very satisfied

You can spend a lot of time looking for the right sim and unless you try it first it’s a leap of faith. You won’t know what you get until you get it. I looked around and read up on everything I could find and chose to try the Volair Sim. NO REGRETS! For the dollar this package includes more than any other sim out of the box. It is very good quality with ample flexibility and adjustments. The designers have tried to meet as many needs as possible for both aviation and racing. Virtually anything I read in terms criticism that was a concern for me I was able to find a reasonable work around. Considering all the possible variations of controllers and human dimensions, VERY WELL DONE. Nobody at Volair hid behind their email address or phone number. They always responded to inquiries within a reasonable time. Delivery took a bit longer than I hoped but Volair was honest about that up front. That’s what happens when demand exceeds supply of a good product. All in all one of the better online buying experiences I’ve had to date!. I use my sim for Instrument flight practice, aviation gaming and road racing.

    Amazing flight chair!

I purchased this product directly from the manufacturer. The cockpit looks beautiful and feels great and I am incredibly pleased with the product and with Volair Sim’s customer service. I cannot stress enough the customer service part. However, if you plan on using the right joystick and keyboard at the SAME TIME, you will need to order this through the manufacturer. The reason I say that is so that Volair can build a custom “Left keyboard mount” (this is why Customer Service is amazing), otherwise the right joystick will run into the keyboard tray if on the same plain/level. If you’re not running flight or racing pedals you might be able to get by placing the keyboard on your lap for the times you need it. If you plan on using a joystick on the left side or at the center you will be fine as well.Just some images of the parts mentioned abovehttp://i.imgur.com/0in0iBf.jpg Picture of standard right keyboard tray mounthttp://i.imgur.com/PrhJ4xt.jpg Picture of Volair Sim custom made left keyboard tray mount – Useful for using the keyboard with right joystick at the same.Again Volair Sim will do what is needed to make sure that every one of their customers leaves happy and am very happy with the product. I will definitely recommend this product to others and it kicks the crap out Obutto R3volution for price and customer service.Thank you Volair Sim & especially Bart!

    First Cockpit & Very Happy!!!

This is my 1st cockpit set up so I’m unable to compare to others but can say that this must be the 1st (and only that I’ve been able to find) that it’s a 3 in 1 (or in my case 4-1) set w/ all the attachments incl. What I mean is that not only should it satisfy the flight & racing sims, but incl. rail sim as well. I also incl. the use of the use of everyday web browsing-not office use tho, IMO. As in another review, the seat is very comfy tho could use a padding for your head-straight back. The back reclines WAY BACK & the seat as a whole may be a bit of an issue if your waist is over a size 40! And just like your car seat, there’s a handle underneath to adjust forward/back. Seat is not adjustable for height (raising/lowering). It sits on a solid base. The complete frame is adjustable as well if long or short on the legs. The lower front plate for the pedals (flight/racing) has 3 positions (raise/lower) for comfort. The main (top) desk is long tho not that wide, but it’s not to be used IMO as a typical desktop-this is mainly to be used for components (flight). The lower shelf is for the keyboard & mouse. Its completely padded, so no need for mouse pad, tho a riser for your wrist may be in need. I use the logitech wave keyboard & is a tad too wide having to use the rear risers to lay the board flat w/ overhang. The shelf in itself swivels in all directions, as well as adjusts to heights. If using side controllers, the shelves are adjustable as well, both for height & forward/back. Unfortunately, if using a joystick, there is no center shelf, but this seems to be the norm (possibly may be able to configure something yourself tho be mindful of warranty). The kit incl. 2 side arms to use 3 monitors but be mindful as well as the need of VESA Mount for your computer monitor. Computer monitors seem to be starting to apply these mounts but your out of luck if using a slim line model (myself being in this spot, so looking to replace an 1yr old Samsung Gaming monitor). All in all, if you’re looking into a cockpit that’s all in 1, this is/has to be it, especially giving its pricing.*Check the company”s web site for their videos &/or YouTube as well for complete description & gallery.

Let me start by saying that the product is good and I would buy another one. Also Volair’s customer support is top notch and very responsive. With regard to the product, I think there are some things that are worth reemphasizing that I think are fair criticisms of this type of enthusiast product. I will also caveat that I haven’t tried any other competitors, so maybe this is just state of the art and so be it… but I would like to see these things addressed if there’s ever a “Volair Sim 2″My chief complaint is that I think this sim rig was designed for flight first, and the fact that it happens to work for racing is just a happy accident. The reason I say this is because the mounting point for the wheel is not terribly well reinforced, it has quite a bit of flex in it. I think it will probably never break, but the constant flexing with force feedback is not what I was hoping for. Other bolt on doodads are better but do have a tiny wiggle unless very heavily tightened, so something like a Fantatec Shifter you’ll get a little bit of play in it. I think this would be completely fine on a flight sim where for the most part you are being gentle, but competition sim racing can be a violent exercise and I can tell I’m going to be rattling this thing all the time.Additionally, the adjustment options for the placement of the wheel are somewhat limited. “Closer and Higher” or “Lower and Farther away” are your options. I know a lot of drivers like a close and low wheel, right on the chest, and frankly that’s just not possible with this thing unless you are a very specific body dimension (I’m 5’11” and slim). Or possibly just different pedals that sit higher up so you can scoot in closer. With G27 I have to make the choice between perfect wheel and perfect pedal placement. I’ve tried to split the difference. Finally, the assembly for this thing is a task. All the other reviews are accurate. You can expect to spend 5-8 hours on this thing, and learn a lot of lessons along the way. The instructions are a little hard to follow and some steps like attaching the seat to the chassis are a downright menace. My most important tool in this assembly was a rubber mallet, because some stuff you just have to beat into place.Other notes (not all negative, I promise!)- UPDATE: this comes pre-drilled for the X52 Pro. Very nice to have. I think it even bolts to the center-stick, which means you can have the HOTAS on center and left side, with the racing shifter on the right. Perfect!- The website claims you need M6 x 10 machine screws to mount the G27 pedals, but those are far too short. Get longer ones and thank me later. I used M6x16 and those seemed to do well.- The triple monitor mounting is very good. Sturdy, quality, easy.- The seat on this thing is really nice. Frankly it’s worth an entire star on its own. It feels very high quality and once you get all your positions worked out it can be very comfortable

    Great product, great value…

The Volair Sim rig shipped via UPS and arrived in a single, quite heavy box. It took me 2 hours to assemble it and another 30 minutes to setup my driving gear. Very nice product, it is well engineered and produced. Everything fit with a little coercing and overall I am very happy with it. I just went back and made some adjustments to the seating position and the table top to fine tune the fit for me as I am 6’2” tall, but like the wheel close to me. The rig gave me all the adjust-ability I needed to get an ideal fit. The Volair rig is an excellent value for the price, plus it is available here in the US, which for me is a plus. I looked at many rigs before selecting the Volair. The main reason I selected the Volair is the fact that all the accessories are included in the base model. No nickel and diming the customer to death to assemble a complete rig. Thanks for the great support!!!

    and perfect on the pedals

Assembly can be a bit of a pain (be wary of losing pieces as there are no spare bolts) but parts are top notch quality, and exactly what I was looking for. <3The only thing I would suggest for improvements, is a way to adjust the steering wheel table closer without having to get closers to the pedals.Even at closest setting, you're either too far from the wheel... and perfect on the pedals, or perfect on the wheel, but on top of the pedals. That said, even after looking at the design.. I'm still hard pressed to think of a way to design it any better. And is better designed than quite a few other cockpits.P.S. the chair really is comfy... firm side, but soft. Perfect for long hours.

    BUILT LIKE A TANK.

I was initially nervous about spending the money on this setup. But once I received the unit I became impressed with the steel construction and build quality. Drill holes and mounting surfaces lined up nicely and I was able to assemble the entire unit myself without any extra hands. I ended up mounting 3 34″ 1080p Sharp HDTVs on the system. Quite large and heavy and the chassis holds the weight like a champ. It does not flex or wobble at all. It’s like climbing in to a tank. Even with jerky and aggressive inputs on my HOTAS system the unit never flexes or moves… Can’t say enough good things about this purchase.A few things to consider:-I’m not sure that I would be able to successfully mount anything larger than the 3 34″ screens. It seemed to be kind of reaching the upper limits of the size of screen that the unit would handle… but I could be wrong about that.-I’m not a super tall guy. 5’8″ And I feel like I want another inch or two of adjustment on the seat to get me just a little bit closer to the keyboard tray. Still not a deal breaker and the mounting plates for the HOTAS system are completely adjustable so no problems there.

For the budget friendly option. This is it.

I received this and the instructions were not that difficult to follow which is a plus. There is a video on YouTube that goes over more but it is more an aid than a resource as the camera angle is not the best. Going into the product itself. I love it, simple to say. This is hands down, for the money one of the best options. It offers a placeable/padded keyboard and mouse tray you can easily move in and out if your way, the avionics tray and the try for the throttle, I wish these were a little easier to make adjustments to however, they are pretty well places and I have not encountered a “real” problem with it. I mounted a 49” curved monitor to this and it mounts perfectly, screws included for mounting which was a huge plus. If you’re looking for cable management this does not have them. For placing flight simulation hardware and monitors it is pretty awesome, movable seat is perfect and not to mention incredibly comfortable. If you’re looking for a good budget friendly solution to building a home cockpit, you will thoroughly enjoy this product.

Rock Sold With Full Adjustability Loaded With Features

I spent a great deal of time researching Racing Cockpit and choose the Volair sim chair for all the features that are optional on other cockpits. I watched Volairs’ online video’s and was impressed with the amount of adjustments that can be made so that you are sitting comfortably. I received the chair in 4 days with everything in good condition. The seat is areal car seat fully adjustable, sliding easily on it tracks. The keyboard tray is a great feature, you can place it right in front of yourself and move it out of the way when not in use. I can go on and on…. The main item when comparing cockpit, how well they are built including the materiels used. They used thick walled square and round tubing no cheap stuff used. I am using a three 27 inch monitor setup. The monitor are very secure with no movement! I did have a question a question and customer support was outstanding. I am setup for racing and will switch over to aviation setup in a month or two and I believe the cockpit will be even more impressive, look where you can put all of your gadgets. J

Decent good value but could use some tuning.

For the price I do think it is the best thing available. However, I do have so things to say as far as improvement. They clearly did not fit the package to me, a fairly big 6’2″ 260 guy.The key board holder is always banging in my knee. I sure wish I could move it.The main location for yoke or driving wheel does not move to where I want it. Whoever they sized the kit for had short legs and long arms. Also, that same yoke/wheel main mounting point is just not solid enough, for flight sims I think it is alright but in a driving sim it is just a tad more wobbly than I would like. The most serious comment is about the monitor stand, clearly the designer of the kit never took an engineering course called “Strength of Materials” or Statics or something like that. (If they did they forgot what they learned.) If they had took such a course they would know you cannot expect a weight held at the end of a beam with no support other than the torque on the beam to not sag the beam. It is just not possible. Metals bend under a torque; the designer can say what they will but they cannot rewrite the laws of nature.Because of the poor monitor stand design, by not doing something to stop the sag of the monitor support, it is pretty much impossible to get the three monitors in a solid line up at the same level using just the kit. You have to bring more support on your own to push/pull up the outside monitors or you have to put up with them not being in line.A flat amazing thing, I bought a set of Logitech G PRO Flight Rudder Pedals for the simulator. What was amazing? The stand’s base plate that is used to mount the pedals had NO DRILL PATTERN FOR THIS RUDDER PEDDLE!!! Really. The Pro Flight pedals were the Saitek pedals, I believe they are the most common pedals used in simulators. No bolt up pattern support for this pedal set up was shocking. A drill fixes it. But one would expect them to line up.Still with all that, it is a usable stand. Seats comfy and there are lots of mount points. If you are willing to play with it a bit it can workout.

    Worth it, if needed

The concept is a wonderful idea however I encountered a few problems putting it together considering the instructions were originally in Japanese and poorly translated and being very poorly illustrated. Also once together getting in and out is difficult. Overall I think it’s a great product and I’m glad I bought it
